Melodious playing of Sarod by the Baba Alauddin Khan, the master of masters musicians, the Guru of Gurus, whose contribution to the Instrumental Indian classical music remains greatest ever. Further, Great Tabla accompaniment with Tabiyatdaari and powerful prominent Bayan (left)Tabla guiding the Dayan (right)Tabla always, which was a hallmark of Pandit Anokhelal Mishra ; It seems the Tabla player could be the greatest Tabla Player ever- Pandit Anokhelal Mishra just known as Anokhelal, the magician of "na dhin dhin na" in superfast tempo, which remains unimitated/ unparalleled so far till date. The Tabla playing is exceedingly sweet and with clear bols, with left Tabla remaining clear till the very last stage of the melody. The powerful and sweet Tabla is here singing too, adding to the melody of the Sarod player.
Anokhelalji was an amazing tabla player. But I do not think the tabla player in this record is Anokhelalji. Maybe the tabla player is Pandit Kanthe Maharaj? I am not sure. Both were great tabla players.
Vaibhav Tipnis yes It is kanthe Maharaj because anokhelal g was a speed tabla player na dhin dhin na is slow and khula baj ki hai but anokhelal ge esy nhe bajaty
Great Music. As we notice, Khan Saheb did not have much nails . His fingers must have been Hard so as to play without nails. Tuning was as low between B and A sharp. With no special strings . Still his Music is so great. Thanks for uploading.
I do not know if this is true but as a child I had heard this story - "Someone questioned his playing skills. Ustad Alauddin Khan said -"Music is Ma Saraswati else I could have shown you how well I can play with my feet. But since you have doubts, I will show you by playing with my left hand." - - -again I say this could be just a story.
He could play with both hands . Ravi sankar and Ali akbar khan also can play with both hands . Allauddin khan taught them to play with both hands just like him

GOD OF MUSIC
He is like a god to me.
He was born in 1862, die at the age 110,
Court musician and the Guru of Pandit Ravi shankar!
Ustad s.d. david was one of best student of him
A string to reach the God
Was the great Ustad Alauddin Khan a left-hand player? That's what it appears from this photo. If anyone knows, kindly confirm,
yes he was left-handed
