- Manchester United embark on their third pre-season game of the 2019 tour, playing Inter Milan in Singapore. With the squad coming off a successful 4-0 victory against Leeds United, Solskjaer will be looking to add another win in what is turning out to be a promising pre-season for the team. Inter however, will prove to be a bigger test for United, proving to be a reputable side in Serie A. With new manager Antonio Conte at their disposal, United will be wary of the Italian's tactics from his time in the Premier League, beating them twice in the Premier League and twice in the FA Cup, including the final. With Solskjaer confirming more players will get more time, it will be interesting to see who gets more minutes under their belt, possibly giving an idea of Solskjaer's preferred first team XI.

Also who cares if we have two forwards who are home grown? That’s a small club mentality, quality comes first above everything. This is why we are in this mess because we praise players who are home grown just for putting in effort. Lingard, Rashford or Mctominay would not start for any of the other top 6 in the league. Theyve got potentially but wish everyone would stop hyping them. If we want to get back to challenging the top 2 we need quality regardless of nationality.

@@andreaugustus798 I've only watched the halves of pre season where Greenwood, Rashford, Wan-Bissaka etc are playing. If Greenwood gets over 1000 minutes in all competitions this season, it'd be a great year for him no matter where he's playing

Eliteballers I agree. It’s a system that can work when you’re playing on the counter-attack, or if you have full-backs that can run all day and centre-halves that are good in 1v1s. Real Madrid in 2017 played that system extremely well, but because they had a backline of Marcelo, Ramos, Varane and Carvajal.
@@MashiatCOD99 well we are playing awb and Shaw who should be able to run all day and since it's a pre season the at least for 60 minutes...plus both lindelof and bailly are great at 1 v 1 situation.... bailly's issue has been positioning and injuries but he can play against any top player be it Liverpool's attack or any other.... lindelof was not great with balls in the channels but he has improved that last season

Pogba is currently operating in a similar role to the one he occupied with France during last year's World Cup; positioned deep in a midfield axis and dictating the play. Internazionale and Tottenham will provide sterner tests over the next week to determine whether Pogba stays there for Chelsea's visit on August 11.
Play Andreas with McTominay and Pogba in midfield. More energy and a bit more balanced midfield. Same front 3 as the last game

@@ddonjuan3811 nah. The reason I said Pereira is for the balance of a midfield 3. Angel and Pereira both did well and I think in a CAM position Angel starts but as a 2nd CM with Scott as CDM its Pereira

How about using James as the number 10 instead of Mata? He can do the pressing, and then quickstart the counterattack along with Pogba, Rash and Greenwood.
His passing is nowhere near Mata. Would prefer Gomes there. James is best in behind the defence.
@@kane2418 Yea I don't see him as beeing the classic number 10, like Mata, but someone who could stress the opposition midfield, using his pace to snap at their heels when we press. And then when we win the ball, a quick ball to James, he in turns puts it in behind towards Rash and then follows up behind him and makes it into the box.
@@jarandharila1164 I understand what you're saying but James' passing isn't like Pogba, Mata, Andreas. James might be better out wide in a 4-3-3 because of his defensive work rate and the fact Inter will play a 3 back with wing backs. It'll be hard to get a ball behind a 3 back as one can just drop deeper. I don't know, it depends how quick Inter players adopt Conte's style. They only won 2-1 against Lugano or something who I've never even heard of.

I really don’t mind Pogba a bit further back. He is a very complete midfielder and he can be our dictator, especially if we get Bruno, or play Angel Gomes alongside him.

The way you talk about Pogba to me is a problem. You are putting him on a very high pedestal!! Expecting him to run the midfield, expecting him to take over the game. There is one thing you got absolutely correct, and that is he is the only world class midfielder we have the moment. Who does he have around? Why is the manager playing him deep? Don't over hype him, makes him an easy target for fickle fans and rival team fans when he struggles which he has shown he can and I blame Ole for his struggles. Pogba is one man, he needs a supporting cast for him to thrive.
I for one am not a fan of the diamond 41212, it leaves us exposed on the wings, especially Pogba's side as he does not work defensively, as was evident towards the end of last season, i much prefer the 4231, with wingers that work back and protect the wide areas, also with the 4231, it gives Mata the opportunity to play in his preferred number 10 position...rather than the 433 where he ends up playing wide right cutting inside, he just doesn't have to legs to track back in wide areas
With the 442 diamond you can trasition into a 433 when defending pushing the cam to either left or rw and the opposite striker to the wing on there closest side
