it may be an acquired taste. These shows are much more 'today' for better or worse

On other commentaries I have seen discussion that T'lyn does not have Bendai syndrome but a similar condition of reflexively projecting emotions outward. With the idea that it is not well known because Vulcan mental healthcare is bad starting from the toxic foundation of telling people to "just act normal" instead of figuring out what is going on.
Betazed might be a Federation member, but it should still have local government, defense, and intelligence structures.
Many people might recognize Wendie Malick from Emperor's New Groove.

Well they don´t say she has Bendii, she just brings it up as example of how Vulcans can affect people involuntarily. And that plus her lack of age to get Bendii...I´d say she´s just more on the high emotional side for Vulcans, maybe also stronger on the telepathy, what then combined caused that outburst, all without any sickness involved.

@@SirMarshalHaig many reactors misinterpret the episode to think she has Bendii. I have also seen commentors thinking that she might be Neurodivergent processing everything differently than "normal' Vulcans and calling back to the idea that Vulcan society ignores the differently abled.

@@sea-envy3137 Well maybe she´s different, but she might just be higher on the normal spectrum for Vulcans...and indeed that might get them into trouble. More emotional Vulcans, neurodivergent or not, would probably face problems and be better suited among humans and other emotionally open species.
