If not battery problem, check the brass ring at the + side. Take of the middle tube first and check whether the brass ring is tight or not. I think this is a problem.

This made the driver didn't work properly and finally broke down. Just what I thought. Please check your battery, the ring at the tail cap. Battery type - flat top, button top. If you still have the problem, try new driver.

New c8+ (18650) uses osram kw cslnm1 1100lm while m2a (21700) uses kw cslpm1 1500lm. kw cslnm1 seems to throw further than kw cslpm1 while kw cslpm1 gives wide beam than kw cslnm1.
