It is now understood that the novel coronavirus affects the sense of smell and taste. What is behind this phenomenon? What does it mean? And do those infected by the virus fully recover their sense of smell and taste?

I lost my smell suddenly after fever 🥵 and I tested positive.
My 1st week without any smell was horrible. I started recovering in 2nd week. Thanks to Allah now I have completely recovered.

I regained my smelling sense after 9 days which was completely lost. Initially I got it back around 80% but now 100% alhumdulillah.

2- avoiding touching anyone at home
3- sanamakki qehwa once
4- hot water 1 cup twice a day
5- steaming
6- aimpra only two capsules (morning+evening)
7- last but not least . Strong will power ( having tawakkal on Allah Paak as date, time, place of death is already decided by Allah Subhan w Taala)
8- didn't change my routine like daily exercise or yoga.
9- in initial couple of days, I used rondec syrup for cough. after cough gone , I left it

Loss of smell and taste occurs in other Upper Respiratory tract infections too like Common Cold, flu and respiratory Allergies...
It's not always neccassirly due to COVID-19... So u can't declare Patient COVID-19 on the basis of this symptom only ....

Mari b chali gae thi sense of taste smell ALLAH nay khud hi thik kia. Sirf ik kam kiya k tnsn ni lee or ALLAH pay bharosa rkha.
Agar apko chest infection nhn tha kuch na lain just penadol lain steam lain khana peena na chorain.
Or numaz perhain drain mat
Bhai meri kaise thik hogi na smell aa rha hai or na hi jibh ka taste..

Ik to tensn ni lani. Preshan ni hona taste aye na aye khana ni chorna khana khao pani peo neem garam neembo wala or numaz perho. Baqi ap thik ho jao gay. Khansi ka syrup lo agar balgam hay seenay pay to steam lo or azethromycine 250 din or rat ko lo agar apko balgam feel ho tb lena wrna nahi.

After eid I felt weakness in my legs migh be due to fever for a short time then felt soar throat and also loss of taste and smell sense, throat got normal after 10 days and smell and taste senses are being recovered might get back 75%! Was it crona virus infection?

1) steam
2) cava with ginger and honey
3) lemon juice
4) eggs
5) eucalyptus oil
6) vitamin c tablets
So when my sense will come back, please suggest me I'm worried about this,

Sir I felt 1 day fever ,n then fever went off ...then i lost smell n taste almost for 3,4 days ...then felt that i feel less hungry as compared to 1 week ago..but i couldn't be able to get my tests from hospitals ...after week or more smell n taste came back n now I feel good hunger,....some tym laziness but over all fyn....what is ur further suggestion please ,I couldn't quarantine due to duty issues
did you tack any medicine i am feeling same to same like you i get illnesses for one day after one day i loss my smell and test slowely slowely And today i can not smell even Colgate or cigarette i also cam not feel cigarette please tell me what happened with me
release took baths but felt water was very cold even in this hot weather , little but shivering was there ,took panadols ,arceva capsols to lower down fever for 3 days ....then took nothing even my smell went off ,n taste was changed ...but Alhamdullilah after 10 days I got better ..
Same here also...I got fever on and off, now no fever but loss of taste and smell, and I am taking multivitamin tables, vit C etc... Inshallah we all will recover soon
