I’ve watched several tutorials on this tool, and this is the best explanation by far. I think I finally know how to use my proportional divider now! Thank you.
Thanks my friend. Your demonstration is clearly explained and helpful. Keep posting videos so that your newest subscriber can stay up-to-date on any further tips you have to share. Best regards...👍🏽
Lovely video! Very well explained and demonstrated. The only problem I had was that the music was a tad too loud. I couldn't just mute the video because I wanted to listen to your valuable explanations.
Hi Lucas. Thanks for demo. A suggestion is that the camera is placed so that the drawing page is prominently in front of it. A 6b pencil will make viewing easier too. I could not see any dots or drawing but i understood the concept which is great. Do you still sell the dividers?
Yes, depending on the size of the canvas, you'd have to adjust your device to account for the scale. So, if you're going from 5x7 to 11x14 for example, then the max should be 2 times.
You can certainly do that, but it feels like playing bingo - a lot of blocks and you have to number them. I feel that I am more free using a proportion tool but I still have help to double check the proportions. If you are using the training wheels method you only have to draw two middle lines instead of 20+ lines, AND a grid you must work out mathematically so that the ratio of your reference matches the ratio of your canvas.
Hi Dalia, I apologize for this super late reply. I'm not much of a social media guy. You can get a hold of us by leaving us a message on our FB page: facebook.com/exactart.proportiontool/ That is if you haven't found an alternative solution by now. Greetings, Luc
Maybe because of Dyscalculia, I am unable to follow any of what you are doing especially speeded up! So often~the TH-cam tutorials are for those with more advanced skills than a novice who wants to learn but Cannot from the way the video are done! So sad those with the know how Do NOT demonstrate Step by Step easy to follow visual directions!!!!! ☹️😟😬
He draw '+' lines as a guide to each measurement of 'dots' he put on reference photo, by just measured up length each of 'dots/point' you can use it as guide to a blank paper
This was very helpful. I bought a proportional too recently, and was only partly successful using it. Now I understand how to proceed. Thank you.
Thanks Valerie!

I made my own scale divider out of craft board and a wooden dowel and it has been one of my most favorite tools to work with.
Cool man, so simple yet effective
I would love it if you would post a picture of it

Amazon does for between $6-$10
would this work for a small picture to a larger canvas- like a 5x7 photo to a bigger canvas?
Yes, depending on the size of the canvas, you'd have to adjust your device to account for the scale. So, if you're going from 5x7 to 11x14 for example, then the max should be 2 times.
Very clever, easy methods. ❤

Isn't it easier to use a grid?

where can I buy that tool?
This is my question too! But since you posted this 2 months ago and he still hasn't told you, I not very hopeful.

if its youtube, you can pause and back as many times as you need to.
Click setting cog. Scroll down to play back speed and set to the slowdown of 75. Hope that helps.
Lucas, jou sketse is nie sigbaar in die video nie.
Hi Jeanette, het jy die video in hoë resolusie gekyk? Ek sal in die vervolg die lyne duideliker maak. Dankie vir die terugvoer!
