Cyril seems to be making money outside of MMA, good for him.
Just a video idea you should find out mathematically with your coding background how many eye pokes in a fight should be a point using data like how many people who got eye poked ended up winning the fight after vs how much it actually effects the fighters type beat
He’s living the life, of course he don’t want to fight, its a shit career when you have options as good as being a movie star.
So my mom really wasn’t lying when she said the ciryl was gane
Every forgot about Zabit real quick
As a french, Ciryl Gane knows himself that he overachieved. And that is good enough for him. He became known in France and have some side business now. The UFC is just to give him some light and relevancy. But going straight to the title was an excuse not to fight and to duck as many contenders he could before being in the need to fight.
dukcing who? he fought contenders and then champions 2x. just because he didn’t want tom since he was unranked and unknown back then isn’t called ducking
@@beaualoevv Tom wasn't unknown. He was a high risk low reward profile.
And there was a like London/Paris Rivalry after the cards in those cities. Like said in the videos, he refused the interim fight against Aspinall and Pavlovich. Gane is strong but doesn't hit hard. And the Jones fight hit his credibility hard. Maybe he didn't realize it at this time.
@@Kd2A34he turned down the fights because of the acting obligations and scheduling. Yall just assume the worst lmao
dude, he's still 34! that's young for heavyweight, chill out...
Gane has barely been training martial arts for 10 years. His age, lack of damage at heavyweight make this far too premature.
the cereal is gone 😞
Who else couldn't help but read the thumbnail title with a Wisconsin accent? 😂
Cyril is the modern day Bobb Sapp. Impressive physique. Not much else fight wise
He’s got great footwork, timing, very good Muay Thai especially at heavyweight. Hes nothing like bob sapp lmao. Sapp was just a big dude who threw sloppy and relied on size. Games a very skilled striker with great in and out footwork and good set ups/reads.
What sport are you watching lmao
Bob sapp KO round 1
@@letmegetuhhh3959 His footwork is awful dude. Linear retreat got him clocked against the cage by tuivasa of all people. Don't try the "lucky punch" thing tuivasa had him timed.
@@leebinpoggersmomento6101 if his footwork is awful, who at heavyweight has had better or equal footwork? He got caught once by tai going backwards that don’t mean his footwork isn’t good. How many HWs can switch stances, change angles, float in and out ect. He fights with his hands down and relaxed. To do that you need to understand footwork, distance and angles.
What gym do you train at where the HWs are moving like that?
@@letmegetuhhh3959 His stance switches are irrelevant, his angles have no fundamental backing and his floating in and out meant he linearly retreated against tuivasa with his back to the cage and got clocked clean on the jaw. Pavlovich if he's not gun shy, Miocic if he isn't washed, Jones, Aspinall and Blaydes if he doesn't run into a knee or something, all beat him in under a round.
He wasn't teammates with Francis. Francis had mostly left MMA factory when Ciryl joined
The Heavyweight division is the biggest waste of talent
Gane thinks he's entitled to title shots without fighting anyone below him, that's a real sense of entitlement, Tom,Sergei they went through the whole division to get where they are Volkov too now, it will be interesting to watch Volkov vs Gane.
I called him out months ago. He had promising careers in soccer and basketball but wasn't willing to put the work in or make serious sacrifices to make it happen.
He treats fighting the same way. After he lost to Bones, Khabib invited him over to train in Dagestan and he prefered to stay in France.
I just want to watch Tom destroy him now. See if he can put him away quicker than Jon did.
Yeah god forbid someone wants to stay in their home country with his children and not live in the mountains to train with khabib lmao
@@letmegetuhhh3959 Just proving my point that he's not dedicated enough to put in hard work or cause himself any discomfort in pursuit of a belt.
Compare him to Francis and what he did to get himself a shot at a title.
@@letmegetuhhh3959 Why do you tolerate people not being serious athletes
@@leebinpoggersmomento6101 how is that not being a serious athlete? Not everyone wants to abandon their children for months to train with dagestanis. You don’t know what his actual practices look like. That doesn’t mean he’s not serious. Nobody can pick up mma as late as he did and get to this level without being serious
@@letmegetuhhh3959 His "level" is a rank squatting can lol
36 at heavyweight I wouldn't call that wayyyy past his prime
Gane is no longer a “fighter” he is a business man. He became one of the owner of the mma promotion Ares in France, filming movie, tv show, doing brand deal and more.
I know his inactivity can upset some people, but he is the one getting hit in the face and we aren’t so I don’t blame him for doing other things.
He may as well just retire then and make it known he doesn't intend to fight anymore.
@@madgavin7568he’s literally taking a fight vs the 3rd ranked guy lmao what you want from him?
@@letmegetuhhh3959 A rematch against a guy he beat before (and probably will again) that nobody asked for. Dude ducked Blaydes and Almeida.
@@madgavin7568 he’s still ranked 3rd and it’s the fastest way to get his title shot. He had time off with the acting but he’s still taking a dangerous fight. Of course anyone would want to take the easiest fight to the title. Nobody got mad at Alex Periera not facing a single grappler in 2 divisions. It’s the game
@@letmegetuhhh3959 Dude is avoiding all the hard match-ups to get to the belt. It won't work, just like it didn't work twice before. Assuming he beats Volkov (which is likely) he'll get destroyed by Aspinall. He's not ever touching that belt, and even if by some miracle he does, he'll lose it on his first defence.
History is against him as well, he's 0-2 in undisputed title fights. Of all the fighters with that record who have a third shot, NOT A SINGLE ONE has won the belt on their third attempt.
Its a minority opinion, but some fans are mad that Poatan hasn't fought a single grappler. The man has benefited significantly from favourable matchmaking by the UFC, they're even trying to keep Magomed Ankalaev away from him.
Ciryl Gane? biggest waste of talent ever? sounds like someone started watching MMA around 2018.
He is one of them. Dudes a highly technical striker at heavyweight which is very rare. He started training late and still became a great fighter. By his own admission he didn’t work on his wrestling out of camp. The guy was so talented he could get away with stuff very few people could. If he was truly committed the guy could be a world champ
Yea I don’t agree with this take at all. He’s fought for multiple championships, dominated multiple contenders, and will probably be fighting for the title again soon. Hard to say that’s a ‘waste of talent’
Zabit comes to mind fr
I was going to eat breakfast. But the Ciryl Gane😅😂😂😂
Chandler has to get in the octagon. That is a real waste of talent.
Hearing this reminded me , that yeah everytime there a big new fast and strong fighter we do this with Jon jones . Cause an early Ciryl sounds just like Tom in build up
There is a sterotype of French fighters giving up, and French warriors, this doesn’t help
he's a movie star that's why he gave up he's got other options like connor
Ganes story is him trying and failing to be the main character and now hes given up
CTE over hollywood money, yeah bro idk about that one 😂😂
I think he needs to leave fernand Lopez first
He reslised with jon and francias that he won't beat top wrestlers. Making as much money out of the stardom isn't a bad thing. He's no connor mcgregor but a huge star in france, where he can speak his languge, I don't blame him
The UFC was icing Francis due to contract issues he was not injured until the Gane fight preparations.
Is this a re-upload? 😅😂
Man, can you talk about the fake allegations against Khelif? Suddenly, it seems like boxing federations are a strong source to attack an athlete and smear their reputation.
nah the biggest waste of talent award still goes to Darren Till i think, Gane still realistically has a titlerun
Nah I disagree. Ciryl DEFINITELY has that dog in him and he proved it in the Tai Tuivasa fight. Ciryl just makes really stupid career choices
Honestly Ronda Rousey might be a bigger waste because her fall was like hugely because of her terrible coaching and trainer
But Gane is fighting though , and a tough opponent
I know it'll never happen or atleast it's very unlikely but i would much rather see ngannou vs Aspinall than jones vs Aspinall
"Hometown of France"
Gane has ruined his reputation with his ducking and taking on goofy acting roles. Guy forgot he’s a fighter first and foremost
Heavyweight division has always been overrated…as are the heavyweight fighters.
Weird. In boxing it’s mostly about the heavyweights and in mma it’s abt bantamweights to lightweights.
Can't believe he's still ranked no2.
Who would be above him tho? Pavlovich coming off a loss to Volkov. Volkov lost to Romanov, Tom and Gane in his last 7 fights. Blaydes lost to Tom and Pavlovich recently. Almeida got KOd 2 fights ago.
Realistically 2nd for Gane makes sense. He lost to 2 champs but it’s still a better current resume than a lot of heavyweight.
@@letmegetuhhh3959 @letmegetuhhh3959 just sitting around in the sidelines while other fighters risk it all shouldn't secure his ranking. That's called holding up a division, same thing that Stipe is doing. Also, Volkov didn't lose to Romanov. He's on a 4 fight winstreak.
