It's always fun watching people who are new to STH because if you've watched since the first episode you know Alex used to die 30-40min in more frequently, adding pris and obstacles were necessary as Alex got better and now he makes it look easy. Neil was severely handicapped having so little experience in GTAO he did pretty well all things considered!!
Yet for all the things Neil did that Alex says you shouldn't he still manged to survive fairly long, just goes to show how chaotic and random a STH can be.
The thing that strikes me most about these collaborative/teamwork episodes is just how damn good Alex is at blending in. Once or twice I’ve tried to drive how Alex does and can manage maybe 5 minutes before something gives me away. It’s way harder and much more of a skill than it seems at face value. Would be good to see an episode where Alex has to protect another player but from a distance. Eg separate cars, following at a discreet distance but able to jump in to help in a car chase or firefight. “The Bodyguard” 🎵 “And I-eeeee-I-eeeee-I will always hunt youuuuuuuuu-ooooooo-oooo”
You know I hate to be that guy but I bet I could do what he does, as I spent an unhealthy amount of time on GTAV lol. It was one of the only games I had since 2013 or 2014, and there was a time where I didn't have online either so I got multiple singleplayer saves to 1.7 billion dollars, and learned how to mess with the AI just because I had nothing better to do It'd make more sense also for the body guard to be the second player, as Alex would likely be more identifiable unless they have a newer player being guarded I wonder if they'd let me play with them
Yeah the Insurgent is a great car. It is quite fast for its size and beefy enough to basically bash all non-solid objects out of the way without losing much speed. That's the reason it worked so well here, Alex lost a lot of speed making sharp turns around traffic, the hunter just pummeled through all of it. Besides that, I'm fairly sure it was heavilly modded because he easily kept up in the unobstructed parts of the chase too. Makes you wonder if STH needs rules on upgraded cars as Alex is pretty much limited to standard cars without taking insurmountable risks, so maybe the hunters should as well? Apart from all that, it was indeed some impressive driving!
@@Axelerati0n I could aware that in the past that it was stated that hunter were not supposed to be in super cars or equivalent until Alex was confirmed to have been in one. Upgraded cars should therefore be subject to that rule, especially the ones that were out handling him at the end so well. Still a great watch.

@@szr8 it does feel a bit cheaty that they are using upgraded high performance vehicles. like almost all of the dlc vehicles with upgrades are faster than anything found in traffic, even in super class.

It'd be super interesting to see one of these where the hunters are all "Professional GTA Players" like DarkViperAU, Broughy1322, etc, people who know the map really well and would give Alex a seriously hard time. It would be a monumentally difficult thing to set up though, what with them all in different time zones and whatnot.
The biggest thing for me with FailRace, is the team on the background (who often get mentioned) This is a complete show with a complete team, everyone does his/her part Love you for this!
This was another wonderful collab, and the reason of this and the Broughy one worked was because Alex collabed with people that have a somewhat similiar style to him, wonder who else he could invite in the future. Also GG Amy
Happy to see Neil join a hunt. It's always a pleasure to watch driving game TH-camrs crossover in general but this was an unexpected surprise. Although, I guess seeing Laddo Join one of their Beam races might have been a sign of future colaborations.

It's when you have a guest on that you realise just how many details Alex has developed over the lifetime of the series; things like AI-like driving, which cars to choose (to have a chance in chases, unlike Neil who was easily overrun), and knowing when to run/when you've been clocked. Edit: Even the minutia of checking for a Simeon car before stealing one.
There were so ridiculously many cars chasing Neil at the end. I've never seen an STH chase have that many so close. Also the texts were hilarious this time through.

The problem I have with this series being collabed is that its never someone who has actually watched any of the content prior. So they are literally learning the rules on the fly. This series has been a fairly linear progression of experience for the hunters and Alex. So being dropped in at random, its clear you have very little chance of surviving. It makes for a good little experiment type thing. But it sort of seems like a waste. Alex often sacrifices his cover to try and help the guest and it usually ends up just tainting an otherwise clean match for Alex overall. Hey, if its just for fun and giggles. Tis all good. But I would think trying to get a 'fan' roped in or collabing with someone who at least has some experience with watching the series would make a lot more sense, Probably be a lot better of a match. And more interesting to watch, as maybe they have developed a different strategic approach to experiment with. Otherwise, Still a treat of a series and fun to watch regardless.
I think he mimicked the AI perfectly. At one point in his footage you can see an AI leaving a car park in the background. Parked nose into a space, instead of reversing, it went forward over a footpath to leave. I think this driving style was part of the reason he lasted as long as he did. With a little work on clothing and stealthy car jacking, I think he could easily survive a full 24 hours in the future driving like that. The hunters would certainly look, but I think be confused, maybe record a clip to share with the rest, then leave. I'm imagining the hunter going 24 hours not seeing anything, congratulating Neil on successfully evading them, maybe passing a comment about how crazy all the black Buffaloes the hunter's saw were, then sharing the clips they recorded of the AI, only for Neil to be shown several clips of himself driving around the city. :)
A tip for taking down the blimp.... buy a railgun. It wouldn't have any smoke trails, so you could get away with it and the countermeasures wouldn't really help the pilot.
Love the series, thank you. 3 ideas that may be fun, please up-vote the post if you agree. 1) Must get out of the car to blow up a pri. 2) Do the challenge all on foot - hunters are not allowed to run over pedestrians. [ probably would lead to more gun fights] 3) Everyone is on foot, hunters can decide to walk around with weapons drawn or blend in as well.
Actually, think about it. If a hunter came across him where he was next to the other car, who would they actually go after, at least initially? He took the 'AI passing a player waiting at lights' position. That convertible would have been screwed. With how crazy the AI has become, I think he mimicked the worst elements of it perfectly, I'd even suggest he did it better than Alex. He even successfully hit a parked car when driving the wrong way up a one way street, perfect AI driver :) I think if the hunters get a few more months to get immune to the AI's more extreme derpiness then invite Neil back, with a bit more knowledge on clothing styles and how to switch cars more stealthily, I think he could sail through 24 hours in game.
Haha the way Neil drove around town sometimes and remained unseen so long was fun to see. Thought you'd take the win for you guys but no the swarm play was highly effective.
This is amazing. I have been watching Neil off and on for years. It was actually after watching him and Camodo play wreckfest and wanting more content that I started searching and found Failrace. I don't think I have been more excited for a Survive the Hunt episode.
Been watching Survive the Hunt since the begining (4 years now?) and it is nerve-racking watching any guest trying to blend in. It´s actually amazing how they survive more than 10 minutes.
Does anyone think they'll ever be a colab between Alex and Jacob from JDP Gaming? He's just posted his 44th Survive The Hunt on his channel, so he's had some experience but being honest, his hunters aren't really on the same level, might be fun to see how he fares against the FailRace team or even how both he and Alex would do against a mixed squad from both teams. :D
They shouldn't be allowed to use their personal cars, you can guarantee they are heavily modded. That Sand King should not have been able to catch him.

Nice job Neil, that was a brutal end. Next dual STH the first person knocked out should jump in the others car, Double Trouble. Which was also the name of my favorite sandwich (Grilled Pastrami and Cornbeef on Pumpernickle,= epic) until the building blew up.
That was fun to see, perhaps you should try a hunt, where you have the mission to blow up cars and work together (if possible and then with more targets?). I think the hunters should only be allowed to setup a defined number of road block e.g. five or something like that, so that they really need to use them strategically.
I think they must have tried a new technique as the hunters swarming that severely is rather strange. I feel like they’ve never been that effective in a chase where you had that good of a car. Thank you and to the rest of the team for another fabulous Survive the Hunt! And the collab was awesome!

Hey Alex - have you considered a Truth or Dare variant for Survive the Hunt? This would be played when you had more than one "survivor" and be similar to the Taskmaster Variant wherein a moderator would text the Survivors a task to do, say, find a red vehicle and drive it for 30 seconds. The first one to complete the task would get 2 points, if the other hunter completed the task before the next task was revealed they'd get 1 point, etc. (Truth or dare is the wrong name for the mode (Maybe Dare or Scared)) Could be done with regular filming crew staff and/or with guests . . .

Been watching Survive the Hunt since the begining (4 years now?) and it is nerve-racking watching any guest trying to blend in. It´s actually amazing how they survive more than 10 minutes.
Never seen this format for GTAO before. Got my heart pumping and I wasnt even the one being chased.
Idea for hyper paranoia: more than two people hunted, but they cannot communicate and therefore can randomly spook each other out.
Does anyone think they'll ever be a colab between Alex and Jacob from JDP Gaming? He's just posted his 44th Survive The Hunt on his channel, so he's had some experience but being honest, his hunters aren't really on the same level, might be fun to see how he fares against the FailRace team or even how both he and Alex would do against a mixed squad from both teams. :D

They shouldn't be allowed to use their personal cars, you can guarantee they are heavily modded. That Sand King should not have been able to catch him.
They are allowed, and they are allowed to be modified. Alex knows both those things
@@longbowxmkii then why the supercar rule? You can take an already fast car and make it as fast or faster than a supercar.
Why all the rules anyway? You guys get him more than 67% of the time. He didn't do any better when he had major advantages.
@@longbowxmkii Why can't Alex use his personal and upgraded vehicles? I mean you can fully upgrade a distinct car, park it into your garage and he just gets it out of it in the 2 minutes you need to stay on the docks. Or does Alex don't like that?

@@robertschulz6558 Generally he likes to stick to having to find a car, not have premade cars. He has fully modified cars he stole during the hunt though
Nice job Neil, that was a brutal end. Next dual STH the first person knocked out should jump in the others car, Double Trouble. Which was also the name of my favorite sandwich (Grilled Pastrami and Cornbeef on Pumpernickle,= epic) until the building blew up.

That was fun to see, perhaps you should try a hunt, where you have the mission to blow up cars and work together (if possible and then with more targets?). I think the hunters should only be allowed to setup a defined number of road block e.g. five or something like that, so that they really need to use them strategically.

I love how Neil was doing extremely janky stuff, going faster than most NPCs, etc. but it still took them almost half an hour to make him.
I think they must have tried a new technique as the hunters swarming that severely is rather strange. I feel like they’ve never been that effective in a chase where you had that good of a car. Thank you and to the rest of the team for another fabulous Survive the Hunt! And the collab was awesome!

I really want to see a strategy where one of the survivors lures all the hunters in a corner/alley and Alex just starts blasting all of them away.

Hey Alex - have you considered a Truth or Dare variant for Survive the Hunt? This would be played when you had more than one "survivor" and be similar to the Taskmaster Variant wherein a moderator would text the Survivors a task to do, say, find a red vehicle and drive it for 30 seconds. The first one to complete the task would get 2 points, if the other hunter completed the task before the next task was revealed they'd get 1 point, etc. (Truth or dare is the wrong name for the mode (Maybe Dare or Scared)) Could be done with regular filming crew staff and/or with guests . . .
