    For those on the fence..
    FO is knocking it out of the park.
    The bricks are GO bricks, some say GO brick quality is on par and sometimes superior to L..
    Color uniformity is fantastic unlike Lego.
    Yes the pieces are the same…complete compatibility. However FO is even making a few specialty bricks to allow channeling of wires! It’s so good. You light as you build which is great. I haaaaate trying to light built sets after, it’s the absolute worst.
    Everything is top notch AND ALL of this for less than 1/2 what L would charge for sets of comparable size.
    My only gripe is I want them all now.
    I collect way too much LEGO…and now I regularly add FO sets. They’re perfection.
    Get from Amazon with all your Amazon benefits and most sets always have 15% to $20 off.

    After many years I felt the urge to build some Lego. Went on Amazon and couldn’t believe that the one I wanted was $500 CAD. How many people can afford that? So I looked online and scrounged around on Amazon and found this maker. The builds look amazing and the prices are excellent. The reviews were also really good. It seems rather like Lego has become complacent and are gouging their buyers. If I can have a gorgeous set that is enjoyable to build for half the price, that also is lit up? I’m going for it. You also need to remember that the Lego mini figures of today are different from the ones in the past. They’ve changed and evolved as Lego has grown. These ones aren’t any worse than the Lego ones, they’re just different.

    They're honestly really smart going for modular buildings as their big push into the industry.

    I finished my Antique Store last week and it was fantastic... as someone with a massive Lego collection (and yes, all of the modulars since the beginning), I honestly couldn't tell the different with the quality of the bricks, and the build... no clutch issues what so ever... considering it was 129.00 with a light kit included, and printed pieces (no stickers), I'll be keeping my eye on everything FunWhole releases... It also looks just fine with my Lego city...

    I’m actually liking FW better than Lego, because it’s more of a set of mini builds which work well for me because I do have adhd and tend to make mistakes no matter how hard I try. It’s a slightly lower price point so it’s not a crappy Flego cheap knockoff. The Antique shop was 139 CAD.

    There is absolutely without a doubt a purism that goes alongside Lego, even I feel that myself, it's the same kind of monopolistic nature of Band-aid, Apple with i-Phone, etc. Despite the fact that they can be extremely well-made products, it by no means means that they are the only good products out there. This is quite a difficult thing for people to wrap their minds around for some reason. I suspect alot of it is simply excellent conditioning on the part of the advertising of the premier brands. They make themselves practically integral to the very nature of certain products, like there just simply cannot be a smartphone that isn't an iPhone, there can't be a bandage that isn't a band-aid; and in this case, there cannot be a brick that isn't lego. But once you realize that, and break out of the conditioning and realize other very decent and good brands exist, you start to take advantage of all the competition that is out there, sometimes providing unique solutions that the premier brand hasn't even addressed.

    Hopefully lego lowers their prices to be competitive. They are too expensive. Funwhole is awesome, if not better in some ways than Lego. Now throw in that awesome price and Funwhole is a win rn.

    Thanks for posting the honest review, Brad! I have a massive Lego collection and have enjoyed Lego my entire life. At one time, I considered myself a purist. I always looked at other brands, but reviews and bad experiences with sets missing many parts kept me sticking with Lego. Until... Funwhole came along. Their early sets were nice, but the lighting wasn't as neat and clean as their later releases. In the last year or so, they started making custom parts to aid with lighting, such as hollow bricks with indents so the wires could run without being crushed between two bricks. These new parts are brilliant! I find the pieces to be of Lego quality. I've never had any connection issues and have every single set. Funwhole is exceeding expectations with each release. No stickers can be found anywhere, and their prices knock Lego out of the park. A good comparison is Funwhole's Antique Store vs Lego's Boutique Hotel. Both are highly similar, but Funwhole is $150 with printed parts and lights, while the Boutique Hotel is $230 with stickers and no lights. If anyone is on the fence about Funwhole, I recommend trying it. Their sets aren't theme knock-offs of existing Lego models like other brands. Each set comes with a highly detailed manual of excellent quality, or you can build from an easily downloadable PDF from their website (which I prefer).

  • @loganjorgensen
    @loganjorgensen 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I'm actually looking forward to see what their moulding tolerances feel like. That is funny about those that can't tell since the feel, weight, and fit of Lego is unmistakable, it even sounds different sometimes tapping it on surfaces. Also see what their manuals are like, quality there is often missing in alternative brands.
    Yeah totally the designs are top notch and very attractive, really great details. I didn't realize how much I missed lights in brick sets until looking at this brand. Hoping they might consider sound features too in the future.
    Every review seems to remark about the figures, funny since it isn't necessarily the reviewer complaining heh.😉 I'll give some constructive criticism about them.
    I think the shoulders are too thin and I'd love to see a ball joint there like other brands did well. Overall the body needs to be made of common geometric prisms to blend well with bricks, those shapes are too amorphous while the definitions like the feet are too sharp and specific. I see so many brick brands fail the most in figure design, you need a good solid generic foundation to apply arbitrary character detail to, you can't get too specific.
    The facial "cheek bulge" has potential in character variance like say bigger for a Homer Simpson look heh. The print is decent and I think they found a good unique face style. Lastly I'd really like to see them do their own hairstyles more rather than do Lego carbon copies.

    They sat down and had a huge important meeting with highly paid executives and the main topic was, "New Company Name", and they came up with....FUN HOLE, clearly no 12 year old boys were involved in that meeting because any school kid could tell you not to call your company Fun Hole unless you make sexy stuff.
    The set does look stunning though...the competition is catching up big time Lego, time to start thinking about never doing stickers Lego if your competition can never use stickers and you claim to be "The PREMIUM Product".

    It's got to be exciting to be chosen to be a reviewer from a company. But when you really think about it. Instead of doing spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on advertising. They just give you a toy and get a free review. Which essentially is free advertising directly to the people that buy this type of stuff. And everybody is happy. The content creator gets content and the toy Creator gets a free commercial😂

    I was a purist for my whole childhood. Of course, that was because back then, the alt-bricks were often just cheaply produced and poor quality bootlegs. These days they're just great. I've happily added a lot of sets like these to my city, and a lot of alt-bricks themselves for their cheapness. Rarely I'll get a dud part but the customer service is usually pretty good.

    For Lego purists, it's worth remembering that Lego took the whole interlocking brick idea from another company in the first place. Anyway, it's nice to see a Lego competitor covered. The best of them, like Cobi and Pantasy, easily meet or exceed Lego in quality and have some really interesting, clever designs and, specifically in Cobi's case, you get parts, building techniques, and subject matter that you'd never find in a Lego set.

      Thanks! As a predominantly LEGO channel, when I agree to review these sets, I feel I have an obligation to compare them to LEGO in a way, but not unfairly. These brands don’t have the same resources so it’s not apples to apples, but they’re similar so it’s worth noting.

    Forget about the lighting system (which is awesome and, if nothing else, makes this set a cozy mood lamp for the upcoming fall and winter months) or the design (which is beautiful). Let's talk about the prints! (I am a 99.9 % LEGO guy but I hate their stickered mess and always think twice before I buy a set with a large sticker sheet.) To be fair, LEGO modulars are also prints-only, but they don't quite reach Funwhole's quality of printing. You talked about the clutch-power, but I am usually most interest in the brick surface. GO Bricks usually have a glossy surface comparable to LEGO. What about Funwhole? Are the bricks high-gloss and shiny without scratches and dullness? (From the video it appears to be so).

    • @SO-ym3zs
      @SO-ym3zs หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Their bricks are very similar in surface texture and look to Lego, with a fairly glossy sheen. Without careful examination, no one but an experienced builder looking for differences would notice any. That said, I have noticed surface variation between FunWhole sets, with one set having more micro-scratches on the bricks than another. Still, they're all basically glossy and shiny, certainly to a casual observer/fan.

    I just bought this set and here my impressions. I just begin to build it. I bought it because it wasn't too small and have lights included and for the price was a non thinker.
    Also I only read possitive reviews from customers. I only have a Lego set to compare. The blocks aren't as shiny as lego's but is not a big deal. I prefered this figures over lego's minifigures because ,lego's are always yellow and have real weird expressions. Or they are scared in a pretty silly way or their are evil-ish. I hate the evil-ish in first place. But this Funwhole figures, seem pretty alike. I't's fun to build. The box was sealed ann the manuals are a+ quality. I don't regret to buy it. The eternal problem with original Lego's is they are overpriced. Too rich for my blood as the fact I hate small sets with 1.5 k pieces or less. But Lego's potential is always the cool classic mixed pieces sets for MOCS. I don't recommend lego sets in general but getting bunch of pieces in a box for MOCS. And the second issue is they don't include lights. So If you go for both, sets and lights it's pretty expensive. For now I just simply cannot afford them. I just want to build things.
