Got mine in Belgium march 2020. Since I drove 35K km. On all kind of terrains. Spend 7 weeks drivin´ in Morocco. Slept some nights in the car. Went through desert, drove passes on 2700 m altitude in december. Never the car did let me down. It was a dreamcar and still is.
I'm an environmental consultant and have found myself in a position where I need a car that can take me from a meeting in the city to a farm out in the sticks with no worries. I'm seriously considering getting a Jimny. Your video has almost convinced me (I'll need to sell my Defender, so that's the trade off) but the lack of power and speed in the Jimny is what's holding me back. The Defender is noisy, boxy and has zero aerodynamics, so I can handle all of that - but man is it powerful!
Your Jimny journey is contagious. We are retired, and contemplating the adoption of a little Zook ourselves. Jimneys are like "honey I shrunk the G." And they still turn heads six years later. Badger is such an apt name. We think fitting an 80l LR tank. I was going to buy a Mercedes-Benz Geländewagen, a G350d, but AdBlu and DPF let me reconsider.
For your lights - there's a little knob on the right side of the spedo. You can turn it to the right and left to increase the brightness when the lights are on
Great review and well done considering you said you’re both not car people... just a few things. Albeit the Jimny being rare, Suzuki brings them every month and there is a waiting list so maybe you were luckily and got one without a waiting list but it definitely was not one of the last ones available as they are still available and in fact there are over 2500 new Jimny’s in SA now. With regards to it’s wobbliness, the owners manual clearly states (and you should read it cause it’s actually very entertaining) that this is not a sports car and needs to be driven for it’s intended purpose so bare in mind that it has a high ground clearance and is built on a ladder frame chassis with a solid rear axle, this all contributes to it being phenomenal offroad but a bit “different” on road. You’ll experience the same feel in a Wrangler that is much bigger and much heavier (and of course much more expensive and less reliable). If you have not done so yet, I would recommend getting your wheel alignment and balancing done every 10,000kms. Suzuki doesn’t fit runflat tyres to any of there cars, those are also not “marie biscuit” tyres as you cant drive with those tyres for a long period over a long distance, a marie biscuit tyre is a temporary use tyre used when you have a flat tyre and is fitted as a spare wheel option. The Dunlops you have are a perfect combination of on road, off road, and fuel economy. If you want to put day mode on the GPS screen when you have you lights on the adjust the lighting, you can do this by turning the right stalk knob that you will find on your instrument cluster (it sits on the right side of the cluster by your speedo, you generally press this stalk knob to check and change range and average consumption etc) Otherwise great stuff, it’s nice to see reviews about “living with” a product. Although besides for the touchscreen radio there is tons different between a GA and GLX and going on your review you wouldn’t have been as happy with a GA.
Nice review. Take a look at the cruise control, it's wonderful to have it in so many ways. It's easy to use and very relaxing to ride at the right speed, not too fast, not too slow. I use CC on my manual gear car every day and not only on main roads. You can use it at slower speeds also.
Really good video. I've had mine for 5 days now and love it. You covered all the important aspects of owning this car and gave a really honest and informed opinion of the car.

Same here! In Malta 🇲🇹 (Mediterranean) they stopped importing the 4 seater version & automatic transmission because they have higher C02 emissions and are no longer available here due to that reason. It’s a shame cos I wanted the automatic version. I’m getting mine before Christmas! Have the choice of Brisk Blue Metallic or Kinetic Yellow. If I get the yellow (which is more green in my opinion), I’ll call it Kermit 🐸

VERY GOOD in City: Difficult to find parking space, but forr this small size, easier to find one!The shaking is very good for the offroad, I saw people, professionals put it on hard test offroad! Amazing performance for a small car.

Did a 4000km trip through Botswana, you have to be very creative with the gear you take and how you pack, but we managed just fine but if there's any bit of equipment you cannot do without it's a good camping fridge, I recommend the national luna weekender. This was in the 2014 jimny (older shape) corrugated roads were pretty uncomfortable but if you let your tyres down it becomes a bit more bearable. The short answer is yes, with a bit of experience you can most definitely do overlanding in a jimny
Have you seen Mahindra thar? We are getting jimny 5 door in India. I have booked a automatic jimny. But loos and power wise Thar seems better. Thar costs 50% more than Jimny in India.
I notice immediately the difference between an average owner review and professional reviewers. So called professional reviewers talk about and emphasise performance, steering and handling. You mentioned everything but that, just touching on steering wheel play when the car was new and the rocking of the suspension. Professional reviewers are always obsessed with performance, steering and handling, whether it's a micro car or a Rolls Royce, ignoring the more appropriate, everyday elements of the car.

Where are you good folks? Missing the Badger! 😁
Ah, we’ve been road tripping like crazy and shooting a ton of content - new vids coming sooooooon (need to get editing 😅)
You both are an extremely good looking couple. Love from India. We're hoping that the 5 door comes here.
Waiting for the launch in India.
Hello is it safe to drive 130 km/hr on highway with this Car?
yes it is, but it all depends on the road and weather conditions , we don't normally drive it faster than 120-130
@@HowFarFromHomeChannel thank you for feedback🤝 have you seen 5 door ?

Have you seen Mahindra thar?
We are getting jimny 5 door in India. I have booked a automatic jimny. But loos and power wise Thar seems better.
Thar costs 50% more than Jimny in India.
Very cool
Thank you!!!! 🤟
You might as well have provided a live demo of how 2 adults fit at the back. Sometimes actions speak louder than words.
Good idea for our next video thanks!
No videos for the past 7 months. Are you guys OK?
Hey Boris! It's been a very tough 7 months. I had a serious spine injury and then we both suffered from COVID. Chanel has been hit hard but showing improvement. Hopefully we will be back to making content soon
@@HowFarFromHomeChannel Your health is more important than the videos!
Spine injury? That’s serious sh*t! Happy to hear you’re recovering, hopefully without lasting disabilities.
Covid too is nothing to take lightly. As you know it’s a serious respiratory illness. I hope you recover from that one too.
Wishing you both the best and looking forward to see the happy couple’s videos again, whenever it happens.
@@BorisEkner Thank you so much Boris! Appreciate it
I just watched this video and I saw this post. I wish you a speedy recovery ❤️🩹
@@mabakaluckyofficial3055 Thank you! We'll be back soon

I was like “why does auto locking when you drive matter” then she spoke about SA.. I see, high crime rate? 😯😯
Yeah, unfortunately it's one of the things that is always at the back of our minds living in SA.
@@HowFarFromHomeChannel I’m really sorry to hear that
I feel like this car is too expensive in SA so I won't buy it.
Ja its not cheap. Maybe due to the high demand of it the price has gone up. Would you consider the oder models?
@@HowFarFromHomeChannel maybe. It would depend on factors such as mileage and the condition of the vehicle. Honestly, I want a car with 2020 tech in it.
