Korean Pop band BTS (방탄소년단) is currently taking over Los Angeles with their sold out shows in support of their new album and Rob Herrera sat down with the guys for an in depth interview on their creative process. The band also spoke about their style, choreography and their collaboration with Wale.

Him talking about his inspirations and his love for music really makes me appreciate him even more. RM is the OG of BTS.

Can we take a moment to thank Robert because this interview was by far the best one they had in the US. The questions were really interesting and they boys didn't seem to feel uncomfortable. Unlike other journalists Rob actually did his research and asked music related question. I'm honestly so thankful.
Also I'm super proud of Namjoon. He's doing great leading through all the interviews and his english actually improved a lot. This shows again why Namjoon is an amazing leader. I'm also proud of all the other boys for doing so well and trying to learn english. Their english improved too.
About the release of an american/english album: I think Rob referred to One Ok Rock when he talked about the japanese band. I discovered them a few years ago through TH-cam and I absolutely loved their songs. Even though I can't speak japanese. But tbh I'm not a big fan of their american album...Idk why but it doesn't give away the same vibe as them singing in japanese. And I think with Bangtan it would be the same. I don't want them to release an english album just because they want to enter the american music market. I think their korean songs are great enough to do that. And I think it wouldn't sound right bc they couldn't put as many emotions into their songs as they can do when they sing in their native language. But that's only my opinion.
Last but not least I'm glad Namjoon thanked all the ARMYs who translate for us international ARMYs. These ARMYs really deserve the recognition. I'm really grateful for them
Honestly it would be a big mistake to intentionally break into the US market. So many groups have tried and failed. It just would just not work with a non english speaking group like bts. Plus there's already a stigma around boy groups and they're asian on top of that. Instead they should focus on expanding the niche market of kpop in the US and creating a loyal fanbase. They could maybe be like baby metal if they play their cards right.

I know how you feel with OOR, I miss the old style like clock strikes and wherever you are. You could feel the emotion with their songs back then but now they're sort of flat if you know what I mean. So yea I hope BTS keeps doing what they're doing too :)

OMG! I thought I was the only one. I was so impressed with his English. He's been doing so well. I've noticed that whenever they speak in English interviews, J-Hope talks in English and it sounds so good. He's not my bias, but I'm VERY impressed. I'm just glad that Rap Monster lets the others talk instead of him always talking. He gets the others involved.

Lemme just go on a rant for a sec because Namjoon is just pure talent in literally every direction. His English is insane, mans can rap and sing and dance (okay people say he’s not as good as some of the other members at singing and dancing but he’s being compared to some of the best dancers in the world, in my opinion) he’s a natural leader, down to earth, compassionate, and crazy intelligent, and he expresses himself so well in a language that’s not his own and is difficult to handle at the best of times. I know people his age born English speakers who don’t speak as well as he does.

Honestly this is probably my favorite English interview, the interviewer obviously knew about them and he obviously knew what they were talking about and he didn’t ask dumb questions. He asked questions about their style and their way of doing things, he didn’t ask dumb, generic questions

Wow this is by far the best interview they've had in the US, thank you for asking such interesting questions and being respectful to them! Also, I'm super proud and thankful to all the members for their effort on communicating with us in English, they have improved a lot and I hope they can keep studying English when they get to Korea

Yeah. Some fans think its insulting or selfish to want kpop groups to learn English but it would actually help their careers. Its not just about America, English is spoken in many Asian countries. They can still sing in Korean, but being able to speak English would help them become worldwide artists.

That's what I always do during english interviews watch Tae, because he's hilarious. He wants people to think he is understanding the conversation when he has no idea what's going on I highly suspect he only undestrood '' crazy '' and ''style'' here.
