Im Pil Sung director said Eun is a witch (clues: witch's knots symbols on tattoos (her foot and chest) also drawings on the wall when she does yoga).. Im Pil Sung director also said that she kills push-over men

Also, if you notice toward the end when the camera zooms in on her eyes, they blink and for an instant her eyes don't look human.

this episode was the most impressive to me. i couldn’t get over how the literal persona she portrayed in this. i can’t imagine ji eun actually be like that but i was so convinced after this 😭

This episode was unsettling and disturbing. I was watching this and kept thinking how much I absolutely despised this evil character. Even though the guy is an idiot and kinda deserved it, I still hated this evil woman. Then I remembered, "This is IU! I don't hate her, I love IU!". She was just so good that she overcame how much I adore her and made me not only hate her character, but also made me forget it was even her! She even conveyed the wickedness of the character with just the look in her eyes, without even speaking. She seemed to take great joy in how she was using that guy and toying with him, playing with his emotions and making him jealous just for the fun of it... all while showing not even a shred of remorse. It wasn't just in the words she said or how she delivered her lines, it seemed to come through in her eyes and in everything she did. She didn't just play this character, for a half an hour she became this character. She WAS this character!

this is the show where i first saw park hae soo... was so jealous coz he gets to kiss IU.. lol
Out of the four films, my favorites would be the third and fourth films. I loved how light hearted the third film was and how the girls unintentionally got revenge on the hickey girl's dad via the forest fire despite their failed attempts. As for the fourth film, I love how this episode was dark & soothing at the same time. This film was probably the best out of 4 (at least for me).
The dialogue-
''Dreams and death, lead to nowhere. They will end up nowhere and eventually be forgotten.'' is probably the saddest reality.
Overall I loved IU's performance in all the 4 films, she was just amazing.I couldn't understand the first two films completely, I mean I just didn't catch what they were trying to convey.
The other 2 films were quite understandable compared to the 1st two films.
i think the first film was about desperation and perseverance. at first she wanted to win because of the bet her dad's girlfriend made that it almost made her crazy and still playing even with an injury. but after the other girl said she won't marry iu's dad, she still continued play even with a limping feet because she now just want to win and not because of her desperation to push the other one away from marrying her dad.
the second one i think is about loyalty and control. the guy was not loyal at first that he ditched his fiance for eun (iu) but because eun controlled him, he suddenly was willing to give everything to her. and that was what she was collecting. not just the heart, but the loyalty and control she can get from guys.
these are just how understood the movie tho. and i also read somewhere in the comments that the director said she's a witch that kills push over men. ㅋㅋ
my favorite was kiss burn too. i love that they were so innocent they smelled fried chicken instead of the smell of their chicken geting burned alive ㅋㅋㅋ poor chicken
In the second one, it's not just about push overs, but it shows the man doesn't have a good idea of himself and therefore chases after younger girls despite the fact his ex is actually far cooler and can better understand his good points (better than himself).
He talks about god being a woman and women are more important, I used to think that but I found out that other guys think like that as a result of media and all the things going on as women fight for their equality. This is actually a more widespread problem among men who have anxiety especially around women. Women nor men are more important.
The girl (the character, not IU) is based on the Kumiho fox from the Korean perspective and thus eats human hearts/livers which is why she is portrayed as a bitch. The girl did also make it clear she was disgusted about his viewpoints about women and pointed out that men are also capable and important.
I really liked the second film the most as it resonated with my own issues. Overall, Persona is really great and explores a lot of common problems.
@@SuneilPatel42 Collector is also inspired by IU's song Jam Jam so it also speaks about how relationships follow a stereotype, in my opinion. As for the first one, I saw a discussion on Twitter and I agree with it, that Love Set has definite homoerotic themes. This is indicated by the sexual tension between IU and Bae Doona while playing the match.
I read somewhere on reddit from a film studies student that the first episode about the tennis is intentionally sexual. The way they moan while playing tennis; the woman is IU’s teacher and as they moan while playing the match, it’s indicative of how they used to have a secret affair. That’s why she really didn’t want her to marry her father. Can’t back this up or anything as I found it on a reddit post but yeah just another interesting interpretation
Jieun-sshi I'm a proud fangirl of yours, ur not just an amazing and talented singer but a great actress as well. Among the 4 dramas I've watched the one that i'm attached to is the Walking at Night. .

4 years later and i still find this ep intriguing: i mean ofc i understand "the heart scene", but i feel like theres more patterns to all that leads to that end.
