Arduino Project: MP3 player using Arduino and DFPlayer mini MP3 player module from banggood.com

  • Building an MP3 player with Arduino is extremely easy. We use the DFPlayer mini in order to build a simple MP3 player.
    The MP3 player has 3 buttons, in order to Play/Pause, to load the next song, and one in order to load the previous song. In this video, we are using an Arduino Uno, but you can use any Arduino board you like.

    I just ordered one of those modules. I am going to covert an old phone into a music player. When you dial a particular number, it will play an assigned song.

    Today I had a chance to review carefully this video once more. All is well. Again thank you Nick. When the module is playing its light is red.. i used 16g SD as not to expect module to read more.I used a small board(400). Good luck guys,just pay attention to pin numbers and connect to any portable spkr via 3.5 jack for example. Directional 3 buttons are great also and work fine.

    P.S.: When connect DFPlayer to external amplifier (like X-mini), you better use line output instead speaker output. Line outputs are Pin 4 and 5 - DAC R and DAC L.

    I dont know why... but for me, the RX pin was the 3rd pin and the TX was the 2nd pin. I initially set them up following your tutorial and it wouldn't play anything. I saw a post somewhere else that stated sometimes they can be backwards.... I switched them and it instantly started working.

For example When I press one button it only plays the fist song, when I press the other button it only plays the second song and so on. I have made it to play five mp3 songs. Thank you any way !!!! Your videos are very educational.

      Hola Jhon, quería saber si alimentas el dfplayer con los 5 voltios del arduino o con una fuente externa? Ya que necesito saber eso para o bien usarlo o bien descartarlo. Y cuanto consume este modulo? Gracias!

    • @jhonfrediospina8986
      @jhonfrediospina8986 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Con fuente externa 5 volts, el voltaje que suministra el arduino hace que reververe, se reinicie o quede colgado

      Jhon Fredi Ospina Gracias por responder, una última pregunta, cuánta corriente consume al sonar un audio? Con una fuente de 5V/1A me bastará pero quiero saber el consumo.

    • @jhonfrediospina8986
      @jhonfrediospina8986 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      La verdad nunca la medi, pero estimo que a lo mucho unos 200 miliamperios, para el proyecto que lo uso, le he colocado un amplificador de audio a la salida, ya que no era suficiente. El sonido no es que sea para uno conformarse con el. Otra cosa, por software nunca le puse mas de 22 al set del volumen ya que se distorsiona mucho para mi gusto, todo es experimentar. I'm going to use this in my school project! A question about the 3.5mm jack. How many wires are there in a sound cable? Is there a ground wire along with the two sound wires?

    • @Artichoked1
      @Artichoked1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. there are usually three wires. One for ground, another for the left audio channel, and another for the right audio channel. If you have a mono cable there will be only one audio channel and ground. Some cables also have three rings(four contacts on the end). The fourth wire in these cables is microphone.

    hi, do you think it's possible, someway, to read the ID3 of the songs via bt?
    i mean, i'd like to interface arduino via bt to an android phone, and use a 1602 screen to view the actual song played by the phone and have some keys to control volume + -, prev and next track, play stop... i think that even 3 keys are sufficient, using short or long press to add 2 functions to the same key (vol- and prev, vol+ and next, play and stop)... so i can leave the phone in my pocket and have a decent screen on my dashboard to see what happens there... or does this module have id3 tag reading support? thanks :)

    Hi! Very interesting channel and video. I've right now subscribed!!
    I have an question. Is it possible add an RFID reader on these components to play a different audio file from each ID? Thanks.

      Yes of course. I was playing with RFIDs right now. That's my plan. Use RFIDs and this module to make a simple game for my nephew!
