There is no submarine base a Port Canaveral. It's a very small naval installation where submarines can load/offload torpedoes prior to going to Autec. You will never see a trident submarine there unless it is not loaded with nuclear missiles and loading their torpedoes. I've been there numerous times as a submariner in the Navy. Just wanted you to know what that place was.
Nice video! I’ll be cruising out of port canaveral in March. Regarding the hotel park n cruise package, I priced it out and it was cheaper for me to just park in an off site lot and shuttle to port vs leaving my car at the hotel. Off site at park n Cruise is $9.95 per day. They open at 10 am.
I am planning to visit the Exploration Tower prior to my cruise in Nov 2019. Something that people don't think to do on embarkation day. Thanks for the info.
Awesome! It is a really cool option that highlights the history of the Space Coast area from the space program to the large influence of surfing and fishing! One of the best things is it is right in The Cove area between the terminals at Port Canaveral! Subscribe to our channel if you haven’t already as we will be producing more Port Canaveral content in the next several weeks to highlight the food options, parking options as and things to do in the area! Hit the bell too if you want to be one of the first notified when we release our new videos! Thanks for watching!!
Are you driving to the port? If so it is really easy to get there! You shouldn’t worry! Depending on where you are coming from you want to get on SR528 “the beach line” which runs from Orlando to the coast and intersects I-95. That road goes right into the port area and Carnival is typically on the “A” side but with the size of the Mardi Gras it will most likely be on the “B” side at the new terminal they are building (terminal 5). There are signs everywhere and it is very easy to get to. I fell like Port Canaveral is actually easier to get to and around than the Port of Miami!!! Have a great cruise!!
We are sailing on Mardi Gras in June 2021, we are flying in to Orlando, then probably doing the goport.com shuttle services to the port and back to the airport.
They hang the fish (the ones people catch on the offshore fishing charters) for photos and the webcam right next to the Grill’s Seafood restaurant in The Cove area of the port. It is on Port side B and is actually right across port from the SpaceX ships that the rockets land on and that catch the rocket fairings in the net! Be sure to look over to the other side of the port to see them! Grills has some amazing food as well!!
Most people fly into Orlando International (MCO) which has the most number of flight per day and the cheapest prices. It is about an hour away from the port and has a shuttle service (GoPort) that runs between the two. There are two other airports in the area, Melbourne and Sanford. Sanford is fairly far away but Melbourne is 45mins or so away but has limited transportation between the airport and the port.
Actually, Disney is in Kissimmee and Buena Vista is part of Kissimmee. Walt Disney did not want to build his park in Orlando because the taxes were too high
There are a few but the main one right off of 528 (Beachline) is Park-n-cruise. I am not sure if they have reopened yet as they have been closed down since cruising stopped.
I assume you mean the Pop Century Resort at Disney World. It is not a difficult drive, just around an hour long however they are toll roads so be prepared for that. The easiest and direct route is to take the Greenway SR-417(toll) to the beach line SR-528 (toll) and that goes straight into the port! The total toll cost is probably $6-7 but saves a bunch of time (45mins-1hr saved) and hassle. It is a simple drive that avoids downtown Orlando and all of the traffic.
The main one in the area is GoPort Canaveral. I know they run from the airport but not sure if they run from Disney. Disney does have a bus service that runs from Disney to the port (they have many, many buses) but it is probably only if you are on a Disney Cruise. Not sure of the details but if you are taking a Disney Cruise I am sure it is something you can add on through the vacation planner!
The signing at Port Canaveral is excellent, and finding your way around the port is no problem.
Thanks for the video and all the information. Will be cruising out of Port Canaveral this August. Im super excited!👌🏽

I've seen a launch from Vandenburg AFB from the coast. One of the highlights of my life!!!

We are sailing July 2021 Carnival Mardi Gras from Port Canaveral. We normally cruise from Miami. I am a little nervous not knowing where to go LOL

Fun Ashore yes we are driving. I know where the port is I just don’t know where to stay
@@dennissems I have the same issue we normally drive to Galveston. Now flying into Fl and going to a new port is worrisome.

@@cjhan47 if you need transportation and hotel go to goport.com you can book all of your transportation shuttles and hotel for one price.
This was extremely helpful and informative. Thank you!
So informative for us new cruisers. Thanks
When is best time for book a hotel? How far in advance?
Where do they have the fish hanging? We are staying 5 miles south of the port.

How much are the tolls?
So Sub and AF station and Kennedy what side of the ship sailing out will be North left or right. Thanks
Left side (port side) heading out is North. It is typically the opposite side of where the ships dock.
What’s the name of airport we’re landing in coming from CA? Your video is very informative.

What is the name of the parking lot outside the port that provides the shuttle service to the port and back to the parking??

PORT CANAVERAL is boring except for the launches
How much are the tolls?
From the airport to the port it is probably $4-5 each way…
