I think that it would make no sense for the empty power slot in tears of the kingdom to be a camera power because all of these abilities comes from link’s arm and how does someone take a picture with their arm, the power has to be something else.
I really hope we don't get all these abilities right away like how BOTW worked. One of the biggest disappointments in BOTW was never getting anything new.
We did get the champion abilities, but that wasn’t a good enough compensation for items that we were able to get in older Zelda games. I hope that we will be able to get more abilities after the great plateau section of this game
I think we will have to obtain some kind of scale to swim underwater and maybe iron boots to sink and walk on the bottom. If we can do this and I wouldn't be surprised if there will be vehicles we can craft that explore underwater like submarines

I liked BOTWs dlcs but they weren’t expansive it was more like end game challenges which were really good. But I want an actual expansion if they can do that.
A lot of people are saying they are not able to mention what the new towers do, and that they've reached the sky islands in a different way that they could not mention, also there is some footage of Link flying straight up without anything up to the point where he starts falling. You can see from GameXplain footage when they are showing the maps that the tower is exactly under the sky islands they were able to show. I think the towers may go both ways, it will lauch Link towards the sky and could also be an elevator to the underground.

On one of the clips they showed the sky map and that giant sky structure was called the temple of time, really exciting. Also if theres any form of underwater swimming, it would be tied to the zora armor or like you mentioned a new ability we haven’t seen until later in the game.

They basically fling you up really high into the air to get a view of your surroundings as shown in the first couple of seconds in IGN's preview video
the only thing i’m rlly concerned about: how expansive are the sky islands, it might sound greedy, but i rlly thought they would be super expansive, and it doesn’t seem that way, however we have seen sky island sections appear and disappear through trailers, so maybe in the previews most aren’t present, either way i’m still excited for this masterpiece

I agree. I’ve seen and explored the lands of Hyrule for hundreds and hundreds of hours, pulling precious time away from my family. I deserve huge, humongous sky islands so I can continue to explore them at my leisure (whilst my daughter grows) Who knows - maybe we were only allowed to see snippets.
We have to remember that the sky islands will be pretty big by themselves, but there will also be tons of new stuff added to the surface. We have seen cave entrances as well so there will be lots of underground areas. Im sure there will be plenty

Personally I don’t think there will be underwater traversal. I saw a puzzle that involved draining a pool of water to reach a sunken chest. If you were able to go underwater at any point, this puzzle probably wouldn’t exist.
Unfortunately, underwater swimming is 99.9% sure not happening. These areas are the tutorial, 'learning' period of the game (and more than that, a public preview!) and there's a puzzle that literally teaches players that to access stuff underwater you must drain water out of a pool, just like in BOTW. This is gamedesign 101
One thing I noticed from trailers and gameplay is a massive column of sky islands presumably near the Deku Tree. They go so high that you can't see the top islands in any of the shots. Maybe it's a trial style area, where you complete puzzles and fight enemies on one level before ascending to the next.
Yes, it's a prominent feature. We've lost the Typhlo Ruins & Lost Woods but of course got Dungeons (much better.) But these are also very notable extras so actually - We've been gifted more!
Another thing to point out: NO RUNES ON THE SLATE. Also, no Shiekah Sensor and no Hero's Path. There is a mystery tab, tho. So there is at least one slate tab to unlock.
i think we will probably see a return of normal dungeon maps from the look of that ui. if im being honest, i would love dungeons with several individual open air floors that change with puzzles that span multiple floors.

I think the one between ascend and ultra hand will be a grappling hook. It's related travel and the hand ability. You stretch green hand, grab thing, get closer.
I never jump into the bandwagon on under water exploration. If the function was there a simple “dive” button would be on the UI like on past zelda games. The evidence for under water exploration is becoming less compelling and lacking the closer we get to launch

You’re actually completely wrong about that the new towers there is a gameplay instance where links icon is on a tower but he’s being shot up into the air. The new towers elevator shoots link all the way up, giving him a ton of air
Liked what I saw from the press preview but I'm still curious about the hands on reviews by the press soon. This event seemed limited in scope, curated. I came out of Breath of the Wild quite mixed on my experience, now that Nintendo is asking $10 more, I want to ensure it's a solid game worth my investment. My partner wants FF16 and FF-Rebirth so if I get Zelda too it's quite an expensive year of gaming.

I think an underground area is pretty much confirmed but I really like the idea of an even higher area !

I just want a sword fight personally, especially because the Master Sword seems damaged etc. If we experience the game without it for 85% of the game then beat Ganon down using it just feels the like the right decision. Also I worry the gimmicky-gluing-builds look goofy and would make that fight feel less serious.

Says no spoilers but huge game play and mechanic spoilers throughout. Every nintendo released trailer gave us excitement, this was the first video which I felt spoiled things I didn't want to see.
You sir may be up to something! Back when they released the first information on TotK, they mentioned they weren't going to reveal the title of the game because it would reveal information about the game itself. Then "Tears of the Kingdom" name was revealed and, besides some weird rocks, the title by itself didn't reveal anything. Back then people were saying "tears" was actually supposed to be as "tears ("rips") but it didn't make any sense in Japanese where the words are written as they are read.... But it makes sense if the "tiaazu" word is meant to be a play between tears and tiers. 🤔 And that would be revealing. We could see multiple, tiered maps, as you mentioned (from the size of the left menu, maybe up to 7 different tiers). And I could totally see them as Hyrule, sky, underground, underwater, heavens (or whatever name they give) to above the first layer of the sky islands, and maybe something below the underground as well. 🤔 This may be asking for too much, but it does make sense
For those asking, if you see some heavy lag it's Nintendo's footage that for some reason sucks and goes that bad, people who recorded their gameplay goes always at 30 fps locked(some exeptions being a lot of effects on screen like explosions that may lower fps, but that is more a switch problem because the consolle is outdated unfortunately)
We still haven’t seen whatever the equivalent for the Champion abilities is so I’m hoping we get something comparable. Though we do know that Riju gets something like Urbosas fury (so we probably won’t get it since Urbosas spirit has moved on)

I hadn’t noticed from what ive seen (i was looking moreso at content this time). I’ll say that even if there are drops, there’s a lot more going on, and botw had them too. Some drops won’t ruin my experience, and it kinda depends on when,where, and how it happens.
That footage is given by Nintendo, and idk why but it goes that slow, if you see other people footage it's always at 30 fps locked(the only exception is when there are too many effects,like explosions,on screen)

The green glider could just be a different design. Zeltik said you can find different gliders just lying around the world when he played.

I think the towers are launching stations. Instead of going down, there's a platform that goes up the tower real fast and it will launch Link very high!

For once all the content creators did things right and a news outlet (ign) messed up.
I wonder if the final battle will use all these gimmicks are will be just a regular sword fight...
I just want a sword fight personally, especially because the Master Sword seems damaged etc. If we experience the game without it for 85% of the game then beat Ganon down using it just feels the like the right decision.
Also I worry the gimmicky-gluing-builds look goofy and would make that fight feel less serious.

@@eljuli1003 true, Zelda doesn't have to be serious. Actually after I posted my reply I thought back to Twilight Princess and how some players discovered you can confuse Ganon if you take out a fishing rod during the final battle.

Says no spoilers but huge game play and mechanic spoilers throughout. Every nintendo released trailer gave us excitement, this was the first video which I felt spoiled things I didn't want to see.

You sir may be up to something! Back when they released the first information on TotK, they mentioned they weren't going to reveal the title of the game because it would reveal information about the game itself. Then "Tears of the Kingdom" name was revealed and, besides some weird rocks, the title by itself didn't reveal anything. Back then people were saying "tears" was actually supposed to be as "tears ("rips") but it didn't make any sense in Japanese where the words are written as they are read.... But it makes sense if the "tiaazu" word is meant to be a play between tears and tiers. 🤔 And that would be revealing.
We could see multiple, tiered maps, as you mentioned (from the size of the left menu, maybe up to 7 different tiers). And I could totally see them as Hyrule, sky, underground, underwater, heavens (or whatever name they give) to above the first layer of the sky islands, and maybe something below the underground as well. 🤔 This may be asking for too much, but it does make sense
For those asking, if you see some heavy lag it's Nintendo's footage that for some reason sucks and goes that bad, people who recorded their gameplay goes always at 30 fps locked(some exeptions being a lot of effects on screen like explosions that may lower fps, but that is more a switch problem because the consolle is outdated unfortunately)

We still haven’t seen whatever the equivalent for the Champion abilities is so I’m hoping we get something comparable. Though we do know that Riju gets something like Urbosas fury (so we probably won’t get it since Urbosas spirit has moved on)

I hadn’t noticed from what ive seen (i was looking moreso at content this time). I’ll say that even if there are drops, there’s a lot more going on, and botw had them too. Some drops won’t ruin my experience, and it kinda depends on when,where, and how it happens.
if i had to guess, this demo is an incomplete version of the game, i think the frames will be way better at launch
That footage is given by Nintendo, and idk why but it goes that slow, if you see other people footage it's always at 30 fps locked(the only exception is when there are too many effects,like explosions,on screen)
@@Marco-fs9bs I think Nintendo's footage was captured on a previous build of the game, specially since it's only from the very early game, I haven't seen anyone who played the previews mentioning performance in a bad way, if it was this bad surely someone would've mentioned it
