At 5:56 you say that Osea hasn't modernized their Navy because they still use F-18s. Those are Foxtrot model F-18s (Super Hornet) which have a pretty low radar cross section compared to the alpha, bravo, charlie and delta models. The US Navy is upgrading their Charlie F-18s to Echos and Foxtrots because they're way more advanced.
my guess is that it maybe another Ace Combat 5 scenario. A rogue group makes Osea look like the "Attacker" and Erusea declares war. Ace Combat 5- Belkan Aces (The Gray Men) get Osea and Yuktobania to fight each other by having Yuktobania declare war on Osea. The Protagonist may have to fight Mihai (Big Red) and the Prisoner pilots however the trailer suggests that one of the pilots is 3 strikes so maybe our character is the prisoner (44) seeing how like the Triple X movie involved a convict Xander Cage having three strikes and was offered to work for the NSA for his freedom. may be the same scenario. The Kestrel 2 maybe the carrier and was built in place of Captain Anderson's sunken ship (AC5). The Princess may be lied to by her advisors and someone is pulling the strings from the shadow-remember in Ace Combat 5 when a Coup De Ta happen in Yuktobania having Prime Minister Nikanor being overthrown and imprisoned and President Harling being kidnapped by the 8492. The Princess may have some staff feed her government false information to bring Erusea into war with Osea.

Well I think the Kestrel is going to still be a Aircraft Carrier because the US Navy names the new ships after old ships. Also reflecting on the F-35 and F-18 comment. It's reflecting on how the US Navy is transitioning from the F-18 to the F-35

Your right! The first Kestrel sunk making sure that the Razgriz Squadron launch safely. So what I believe is that the new Kestral 2 probably launch Trigger Squadron to attack the Capitol. My theory is that there is a shadow organization like how the greyman controlled both the oseans and yukes to fight against each other might play a part in this game between Osea and Erusia.
SkratchMonkey Maybe you have a point because the way how it looks in this video it's like an underground organization has caused this war. Also, it appears that Erusea has caused another continental war to break out in Usea and the International Union Peacekeeping Force was scrambled to preserve peace in Usean continent. Not much is known about the countries that make up the IUPF but I know one which is the superpower Osea. Maybe they should put Yuktobania and the FCU in the team also and Verusa too
Music wise, we're definitely back to orchestra+choir, although the brass is much more reminiscent of the way Hollywood guys have been using it since Inception BWAAAHs. Older soundtracks blended the brass more with the string texture. Very important to the feel of the series music is that the percussion is still very incessant and driving, with a more military or rock band instrumentation there, and that style of percussion was used a lot in previous games. The choir is big and prominent, and the trebles have a lot of rhythmic motion and impetus, plus their scoring is exciting. The basses have a contrasting color with sustains adding weight and color to the sound, and then trade off with the trebles where they have a moving line that splits, some counterpoint which may signal a neo-classical/romantic sound to expect in the orchestral numbers. The strings and woodwinds are used very reminscently of AC0 in terms of scoring to me, although I'll have to refresh my memory, and I'll come back with a better music analysis. I believe the language being sung is latin but I'm not sure. What I'm really looking forward to is the way Rock band and electronic music is going to come into the soundtrack, as that is an integral part of the Ace Combat sound. When I've researched a bit more we may be able to start predicting the overall sooundtrack stylings to expect. Also, great content, thank you for keeping up with all this for us! :)
If anything, to make the music feel Ace Combat, they need to create an overarching composition that heavily features variants of the Ace Combat orchestral motif that's been prominent since AC5 if I remember correctly. It's a specific riff that highlights the strings backed up by a gentle development of the brass sounds. It's that particular segment in the Ace Combat motif that defines the music as being distinctively Ace Combat, I wish I knew the chords and the key, but I'm just no expert... You can sense this motif from compositions such as "Sortie 2: AC0", "Hangar 2: AC5", "Dead Ahead", "Dogfight" and possibly "The Unsung War", "The Liberation of Gracemeria" and "Agnus Dei"
Oh, I'm sure that sound will be in this game. Keiki Kobayashi loves to use that sound and variations of it, where you separate the strings into a high and low pad, usually simple open harmonies, maybe a few colour tones like 9ths or 11ths, then stick the horn right in the middle, rather soft with a long tune. proceed to add more horns, some trombone, then let it all crescendo up and spill over into tutti ensemble. Great effect, and probably used enough in the series to be labelled a motif, but I'm more inclined to call it a mood, as the chords progressions and melodic and harmonic contents aren't always the same, but the short form and scoring are. If you want, I could totally shrink some of those moments into like a piano reduction if you want to see the progressions and melodies of each. Also, I would argue that to make the music really feel Ace Combat, it needs that wonderful mixture of tones, colors, and instrumentations, and put into a cross between romantic/Hollywood style orchestra stuff, rock band with electronics, and a unique flavor to the specific game. 5 was the first soundtrack that had orchestra as the backbone, and the over the top choir and piano moments helped it. 3 has a very techno inspired soundtrack mostly using electronic sounds, 2 used lots off fast rock, metal and techno, and blending both of those with an orchestra and some creative new colors and textures gave us the beautifully balanced soundtrack to 4. 0 had a distinct latin flair, and lots of dance inspired music, and themes for different squadrons if I remember correctly, and a bit more use of stricter motifs. 6 had that wonderful children's choir sprinkled throughout the track, and a lot of orchestra mixed with other things, kind of like a blend of 4 and 5. I'd even put Mendelssohn as a nice influence on 6. I'm sure some people would disagree, but AH is still in the series, and it's soundtrack was up to Ace combat standards. Bits of rap, rock orchestra, a bit more poppy and edgy, lots of overdrive if I remember correctly. But all of these games sound like Ace Combat, and it's that blending of a familiar sound with something new and exciting, which Keiki Kobayashi and his team do so well. The motif you described is definitely part of that sound world, and one that I didn't actually pick out as important as it probably is to others, because I play in band and orchestra a lot so those types of sound I'm a bit more used too. All in all I'm really looking forward to 7, and I'm glad there are others that like to dive into the music like me :) Also, sorry I kind of wrote a book, but I'm going to school for music, and I'll be damned if I don't se atleast some of that knowledge to nerd out on things lol.
Wait, really? You would go out of your way to translate those into piano sounds? It'd be great if that could be shared with the fans so that we can get a better understanding of the music. Sorry if my use of the terms came off weird, I'm a psychologist after all. The only class on music I ever took was something called Music Appreciation for my general college education. Always wanted to talk more about these things but I just don't know how to even find the info to start my studies into music. Not to mention that music itself is a very complex discipline that requires many years of training and study. Something that I just can't afford to utilize much of my resources at the moment or perhaps ever due to circumstances.

Just a hunch but I think it goes like this, the space elevator is like a joint venture between Osea and Erusia... but the deal is quite heavily favored Osea and Erusia failed to notice it (or someone rigged it to be that way)... political talks breaks down because some violent things happened which probably happened on Erusian soil and near the space elevator... Erusia got really pissed off thinking this is like Osea saying "back off this is my elevator", then Erusia declare war... and Osea attacking civilian targets someone must have been tapping on there mission list again... more like you play as an Osean pilot but here is the catch probably sometime in the game you'll switch sides and putting the 3 stripes to cover your emblem and you ending up with the "444 squadron"... (but the thing is the lack Belkans is quite disturbing....)
I'd say it is a AC5 story board, even more evidence is when our Princ- *coughs* waifu says Osea invaded first. Now in terms of the Kestral I feel it's more of a easter egg from AC5. Now in Planes that uav takes similarities to the Falken, maybe see a secret hangar easter egg in missions to gather parts for a plane, or how bout some Ace Combat Electrosphere 's futuristic planes? maybe just a few cause they seem quite reliable in this conflict also for in terms of multilayer how bout some Factions wars would be cool Osea vs. Erusea, one more thing IS MOBIUS'S NEMESIS MIHAI? IS MOBIUS FINALLY AN AI HERO OR WILL WE PLAY THE LEGENDARY ACE ONCE MORE?!?!
Laser Pods are actually more likely Electromagnetic weaponry, like Guass or Railguns. Project Aces are pretty big sticklers for being as accurate to real-life physics as fun will allow, and the "Lasers" create very visible "Projectiles" compared to the red laser that's clearly just an intense beam. Just my take on that weapon.

It seemed completely self-evident to me that "Three Strikes" is your squadron, and that "Trigger" is your callsign. Maybe Trigger is the callsign of another pilot in your squadron, but that name keeps popping up and it's significant.
as i see the trailer i notice the osea nation is the bad as we see. first you start as a osean air force pilot. but if you see determinated. on the next scenes. you see the planes of the protagonist squad. have a white mark on the tail. Givin the idea of RENEGEDES. against OSEA.
the F-35 is probably the F-35a variant, which is the Land only variation, its not an F-35B because that would be getting ready to take off from a helicopter pad or would be taking off from a heli-carrier or a jump jet carrier. (I might be wrong because we don't know what F-35 variant that is, its just not the F-35C)
Given the heavy story emphasis on drone warfare, and the fact that both Erusea and Osea are blaming the other for who started shooting first... I'll wager its another Graymen scenario. Someone probably hacked the drone systems got Osea and Erusea pissed at one another... And if Osea was backing ISAF, then all the more reason for Eruseans and Oseans not getting along. Makes me wonder if this 3 Stripes squadron is one of those 'not supposed to exist' squads... then maybe the game will let us choose who to side with... story paths a la AC3. Do you betray the guys holding you prisoner and head off with Erusea... or do you stick with Osea? It probably won't happen... but i can dream!
Thing is, the anti-Osean sentiment has been there since the time of the First Usean Continental War when Osea tried expanding its influence into the Usean continent. The resulting demilitarization of Erusea was most probably spearheaded by Osea but one must take into account that each game in the series doesn't expand Strangereal's global politics much. It's only in recent years there seems to be a focus on filling in the gaps left from previous entries by Project Aces
I wouldn't be surprised if the next ace combat main title is an updated or completely new version of ace combat 3. it seems like its leading in that direction.
Remember when razgriz was like... "our enemy is the one who want war"? I wanna see razgriz coming into the war and yelling "It's Time to STOP" by throwing missiles and bomb to osea and erusea filthy frank style.
I'd like to believe that the Starfighter might be piloted by one of those prisoners since he/she might be defecting somewhere but got hunted by an osean fighter , ejected and got thrown in prison
I think it may be possible that the music is merely an Audiomachine work or something of the like. It's been done for video game trailers before. (F.A.N.G.'s reveal trailer for Street Fighter V had an Audiomachine tune that would not be part of the video game soundtrack.)
I was at e3 got to play acecombat 7 pretty much all day not many people were playing it but was awesome controls felt good and it goes back to its roots no dfm but you have flares only planes you had to choose from was the F14 and F18 mission 3 but not the full mission I can't wait till it comes out!
I'm surprised nobody mentioned the metallic voice towards the end of the trailer, I think it's clear AC7 is taking inspiration from Macross Plus, I wonder if that could be some form of AI or intelligent drone speaking(perhaps the mysterious white one)
I'm preeetty sure the old guy in EASA jumpsuit is just Mihaly.And Mead's tattoo looks like the bird emblem on the F-104 pilot's helmet in the earlier trailer. Some people have brought possible third party happenings, the unmarked F-15 shooting at the F-104 might be related to such matters (also Mead getting her leg wrecked?) I thought it might be the F-15 Mead is seen working on but that one has the Osean flag on it at least... Similar camo though.
We saw the rail gun in the first trailer fired from the FA-18,as well as the blue laser from F-15 and now the red TLS.So I think that the special weapons are gonna be really powerful.

And for the plot that I can take from this trailer : After occupying lands and the space elevator, Osea retaliates by obliterating Farbanti, which enrages the Erusean princess and maybe the prisoner too (although I don't know how strong the relation to the space elevator and the Arsenal Bird 😕)

I noticed something on the map that has the ring coming out from the space elevator at 7:04-7:25. There's more then 1 aircraft, possibly as many as 4. There's one exactly opposite on the ring from the first aircraft that moves on the same track as the first. There's a possible third one exactly the middle of those two near Los Canas. I call this third one a possible only because unlike the others it blinks in briefly before disappearing again. So there are definitely two aircraft spaced 180 degrees apart on the ring. Assuming the third blip is also an aircraft, it would appear that there are 4 aircraft then on that ring spaced exactly 90 degrees apart. We can't see the 4th one of course because where it would be is offscreen. So 4 arsenal birds then?

My guess the foward swept wing drone is variable geometry like the X-02 Wyvern, by the way it looks. Could be like how the F/A-37 Talon from 'Stealth' folds its wings inwards to make a delta wing. Seems to be the next X-0? Aircraft. The X-03 perhaps
I wonder if this game will tie into ace combat 3. I am thinking how this conflict would create the state of the world in AC3. Aside from that, I think the laser pods on the f15 are precursors to the lasers in AC3. Also I am guessing the Guy in the sukhoi is training a AI for piloting. This may set the precedent for Nemo in AC3. Though I think realistically, the guy who made him should have put him the internet to hunt his target instead of sticking it in a fighter jet.
Now if only the X-Box One would have VR, and Bandai-Namco would make the full Ace Combat 7 campaign playable in VR mode. From what I can gather the VR mode missions are entirely seperate from the campaign, but why!? Most people who play video games can handle VR for extended periods, they've just got to be careful how extended those periods are.
I did enjoy the AC3 branching paths, ACZ paths were a bit underwhelming. However, I feel like these branching paths don't have enough time in each path to flesh out a full proper epic story like AC5.
If my memory serves correctly, military strength of Erusea had been slashed after its surrender to ISAF, but the map shown in video, seems Erusea somehow occupied majority of Usean Continent again like it did in ACE Combat 04. I wonder what had transpired during the 2005-2020.

The basses have a contrasting color with sustains adding weight and color to the sound, and then trade off with the trebles where they have a moving line that splits, some counterpoint which may signal a neo-classical/romantic sound to expect in the orchestral numbers.
The strings and woodwinds are used very reminscently of AC0 in terms of scoring to me, although I'll have to refresh my memory, and I'll come back with a better music analysis. I believe the language being sung is latin but I'm not sure. What I'm really looking forward to is the way Rock band and electronic music is going to come into the soundtrack, as that is an integral part of the Ace Combat sound. When I've researched a bit more we may be able to start predicting the overall sooundtrack stylings to expect.

If anything, to make the music feel Ace Combat, they need to create an overarching composition that heavily features variants of the Ace Combat orchestral motif that's been prominent since AC5 if I remember correctly. It's a specific riff that highlights the strings backed up by a gentle development of the brass sounds. It's that particular segment in the Ace Combat motif that defines the music as being distinctively Ace Combat, I wish I knew the chords and the key, but I'm just no expert...
You can sense this motif from compositions such as "Sortie 2: AC0", "Hangar 2: AC5", "Dead Ahead", "Dogfight" and possibly "The Unsung War", "The Liberation of Gracemeria" and "Agnus Dei"

Oh, I'm sure that sound will be in this game. Keiki Kobayashi loves to use that sound and variations of it, where you separate the strings into a high and low pad, usually simple open harmonies, maybe a few colour tones like 9ths or 11ths, then stick the horn right in the middle, rather soft with a long tune. proceed to add more horns, some trombone, then let it all crescendo up and spill over into tutti ensemble. Great effect, and probably used enough in the series to be labelled a motif, but I'm more inclined to call it a mood, as the chords progressions and melodic and harmonic contents aren't always the same, but the short form and scoring are. If you want, I could totally shrink some of those moments into like a piano reduction if you want to see the progressions and melodies of each.
Also, I would argue that to make the music really feel Ace Combat, it needs that wonderful mixture of tones, colors, and instrumentations, and put into a cross between romantic/Hollywood style orchestra stuff, rock band with electronics, and a unique flavor to the specific game. 5 was the first soundtrack that had orchestra as the backbone, and the over the top choir and piano moments helped it. 3 has a very techno inspired soundtrack mostly using electronic sounds, 2 used lots off fast rock, metal and techno, and blending both of those with an orchestra and some creative new colors and textures gave us the beautifully balanced soundtrack to 4. 0 had a distinct latin flair, and lots of dance inspired music, and themes for different squadrons if I remember correctly, and a bit more use of stricter motifs. 6 had that wonderful children's choir sprinkled throughout the track, and a lot of orchestra mixed with other things, kind of like a blend of 4 and 5. I'd even put Mendelssohn as a nice influence on 6.
I'm sure some people would disagree, but AH is still in the series, and it's soundtrack was up to Ace combat standards. Bits of rap, rock orchestra, a bit more poppy and edgy, lots of overdrive if I remember correctly. But all of these games sound like Ace Combat, and it's that blending of a familiar sound with something new and exciting, which Keiki Kobayashi and his team do so well. The motif you described is definitely part of that sound world, and one that I didn't actually pick out as important as it probably is to others, because I play in band and orchestra a lot so those types of sound I'm a bit more used too. All in all I'm really looking forward to 7, and I'm glad there are others that like to dive into the music like me :)
Also, sorry I kind of wrote a book, but I'm going to school for music, and I'll be damned if I don't se atleast some of that knowledge to nerd out on things lol.

Wait, really? You would go out of your way to translate those into piano sounds? It'd be great if that could be shared with the fans so that we can get a better understanding of the music. Sorry if my use of the terms came off weird, I'm a psychologist after all. The only class on music I ever took was something called Music Appreciation for my general college education.
Always wanted to talk more about these things but I just don't know how to even find the info to start my studies into music. Not to mention that music itself is a very complex discipline that requires many years of training and study. Something that I just can't afford to utilize much of my resources at the moment or perhaps ever due to circumstances.

I bet $10 you start off as an Osean pilot and the story follows from the Erusean point of view. Then you switch over to the Erusean side or become rogue with the prisoners. That's where the paint over the Osean markings come into play.

Just a hunch but I think it goes like this, the space elevator is like a joint venture between Osea and Erusia... but the deal is quite heavily favored Osea and Erusia failed to notice it (or someone rigged it to be that way)... political talks breaks down because some violent things happened which probably happened on Erusian soil and near the space elevator... Erusia got really pissed off thinking this is like Osea saying "back off this is my elevator", then Erusia declare war... and Osea attacking civilian targets someone must have been tapping on there mission list again... more like you play as an Osean pilot but here is the catch probably sometime in the game you'll switch sides and putting the 3 stripes to cover your emblem and you ending up with the "444 squadron"... (but the thing is the lack Belkans is quite disturbing....)
I'd say it is a AC5 story board, even more evidence is when our Princ- *coughs* waifu says Osea invaded first. Now in terms of the Kestral I feel it's more of a easter egg from AC5. Now in Planes that uav takes similarities to the Falken, maybe see a secret hangar easter egg in missions to gather parts for a plane, or how bout some Ace Combat Electrosphere 's futuristic planes? maybe just a few cause they seem quite reliable in this conflict also for in terms of multilayer how bout some Factions wars would be cool Osea vs. Erusea, one more thing IS MOBIUS'S NEMESIS MIHAI? Laser Pods are actually more likely Electromagnetic weaponry, like Guass or Railguns. Project Aces are pretty big sticklers for being as accurate to real-life physics as fun will allow, and the "Lasers" create very visible "Projectiles" compared to the red laser that's clearly just an intense beam. Just my take on that weapon.

It seemed completely self-evident to me that "Three Strikes" is your squadron, and that "Trigger" is your callsign. Maybe Trigger is the callsign of another pilot in your squadron, but that name keeps popping up and it's significant.
as i see the trailer i notice the osea nation is the bad as we see. first you start as a osean air force pilot. but if you see determinated. on the next scenes. you see the planes of the protagonist squad. have a white mark on the tail. Givin the idea of RENEGEDES. against OSEA.
the F-35 is probably the F-35a variant, which is the Land only variation, its not an F-35B because that would be getting ready to take off from a helicopter pad or would be taking off from a heli-carrier or a jump jet carrier. (I might be wrong because we don't know what F-35 variant that is, its just not the F-35C)

I'll wager its another Graymen scenario. Someone probably hacked the drone systems got Osea and Erusea pissed at one another... And if Osea was backing ISAF, then all the more reason for Eruseans and Oseans not getting along.
Makes me wonder if this 3 Stripes squadron is one of those 'not supposed to exist' squads... then maybe the game will let us choose who to side with... story paths a la AC3. Do you betray the guys holding you prisoner and head off with Erusea... or do you stick with Osea? It probably won't happen... but i can dream!
Thing is, the anti-Osean sentiment has been there since the time of the First Usean Continental War when Osea tried expanding its influence into the Usean continent. The resulting demilitarization of Erusea was most probably spearheaded by Osea but one must take into account that each game in the series doesn't expand Strangereal's global politics much. It's only in recent years there seems to be a focus on filling in the gaps left from previous entries by Project Aces

I think it may be possible that the music is merely an Audiomachine work or something of the like. It's been done for video game trailers before. (F.A.N.G.'s reveal trailer for Street Fighter V had an Audiomachine tune that would not be part of the video game soundtrack.)

I was at e3 got to play acecombat 7 pretty much all day not many people were playing it but was awesome controls felt good and it goes back to its roots no dfm but you have flares only planes you had to choose from was the F14 and F18 mission 3 but not the full mission I can't wait till it comes out!

I noticed something on the map that has the ring coming out from the space elevator at 7:04-7:25. There's more then 1 aircraft, possibly as many as 4. There's one exactly opposite on the ring from the first aircraft that moves on the same track as the first. There's a possible third one exactly the middle of those two near Los Canas. I call this third one a possible only because unlike the others it blinks in briefly before disappearing again. So there are definitely two aircraft spaced 180 degrees apart on the ring. Assuming the third blip is also an aircraft, it would appear that there are 4 aircraft then on that ring spaced exactly 90 degrees apart. We can't see the 4th one of course because where it would be is offscreen. So 4 arsenal birds then?

I wonder if this game will tie into ace combat 3. I am thinking how this conflict would create the state of the world in AC3. Aside from that, I think the laser pods on the f15 are precursors to the lasers in AC3. Also I am guessing the Guy in the sukhoi is training a AI for piloting. This may set the precedent for Nemo in AC3. Though I think realistically, the guy who made him should have put him the internet to hunt his target instead of sticking it in a fighter jet.
Now if only the X-Box One would have VR, and Bandai-Namco would make the full Ace Combat 7 campaign playable in VR mode. From what I can gather the VR mode missions are entirely seperate from the campaign, but why!? Most people who play video games can handle VR for extended periods, they've just got to be careful how extended those periods are.

I did enjoy the AC3 branching paths, ACZ paths were a bit underwhelming. However, I feel like these branching paths don't have enough time in each path to flesh out a full proper epic story like AC5.
If my memory serves correctly, military strength of Erusea had been slashed after its surrender to ISAF, but the map shown in video, seems Erusea somehow occupied majority of Usean Continent again like it did in ACE Combat 04. I wonder what had transpired during the 2005-2020.
