The Governor, Rick, Maggie.... I think it's funny how a lot of the major Walking Dead actors are British, and all of them are playing slightly Southern Americans. Makes the interviews weird to listen to lol.
favorite scene of the entire series: The governor is hitting golf balls off the top of a trailor or mobil home, something like taht and then just hauls off and beats the other guy in the head with a golf club. I laughed till I almost shit myself.....that move was "so governor". How did I not see that coming
Such a good villain. Without a doubt my favorite next to Joker from Batman. Too bad he didn't get more screentime. I'd honestly like to see a series based on him. From the very beginning of the apocalypse til his death, or maybe an alternate, where he actually manages to kill everyone at the prison. Wishful thinking xD
didnt realize he was changing his accent for the show. his actual voice isnt bad though, its not grating. like others said, its similar to liam neeson's
Never in a million years would I cast Morrissey as Lex Luthor. I say that as someone who's a huge fan of both. It just doesn't seem like a role I'd cast him in. I still think Bryan Cranston would be ideal. I'm not sure who I'd want to see Morrissey play in a DC flick, but it'd be a shame not to use him for something.
This dude has a gift in playing a villain. He should keep exploring it in future roles. My opinion, he was the toughest physically and the most intimidating character on the show. Beat the hell out of Rick. And Merl. He fights like an animal. And he is a big guy. Awesome Job. All the actors on this show are AMAZING
In the comic/book lore, it's his niece. In the Tv show, she is his daughter. They didn't want to waste time giving him a backstory that wouldn't affect the rest of the cast, so they changed it.
At first I really disliked the way the character looked and act but that didnt last long. This character has stayed closer to the human side and you can really see, little by little, how complex he is and how deep he can go inside his dark soul.I love the character now more then in the comic books.
SPOILER (If you haven't seen the 4th season yet) I I I I I cried when The Governor died. Really. I cried a lot. :D I very loved him and he was my favourite character. And everyone hated him, and I feel like: "Okaaay, I always loved the bad guys, especially this handsome ones - like David - don't say anything please..." :D And David is British... So he is much hotter.
I wonder what wouldve happened if ricks group never existed. You know the governor would eventually cross paths with negan. i dont think the saviors would leave woodbury alone and I dont think the governor would work under negan. by that point the governor may have major firepower and more trained soldiers. who knows what would happen?
Check out the character of Gil Favor played by the late actor Eric Fleming on the old western tv show "Rawhide" with Clint Eastwood. It's like Morrissey borrowed his old face or something..sorta uncanny, I think at least.
petlovergirll alot of English actors have always portrayed Southerners, Vivien Leigh portrayed the biggest female southern icon of all time "Scarlett O'Hara"in Gone with the Wind & in real life she was English
It was short and I did get entertainment from it. Not the best book but not the worse. The problem that I had with it is that it did not add anything new to the story line. If you have read the comics and Rise of the Governor than yes Road to Woodbury can be disappointing due to offering little character development.
Yeah I see where you are coming from. R to W is a good starting book for people that have not read any comics or the other books. That being said I would not recommend that book to people new to the series. I would tell them to start with the comics. R to W just did not bring anything new to the series. I enjoyed it enough but it was not on par with Rise of the Governor.
He interpretation of the governor was so much better than the comic.
Many things are better in comic form but you gotta admit there was no better person then David morressiy to play the role as the governor
What a fantastic actor, played an excellent role as the governor
The Governor is fucking badass.
he is not
@@Wsal More than you ever will be
@@SStupendous lol he ain’t real cuh
@@Wsal He is, you just like one dimensional goody goody two shoes characters who serve 1 purpose, probably cause you relate to them
@@stairwaytoheaven8 shut up
He's so handsome, and a great actor.
The Walking Dead The Governor will be a really good spin-off
The Governor, Rick, Maggie.... I think it's funny how a lot of the major Walking Dead actors are British, and all of them are playing slightly Southern Americans. Makes the interviews weird to listen to lol.
Ya, that accent thing is killing me too. It's sort of a slap in the face!
harold3456 Morgan is british so is Jesus and Maggie was born in America but grew up in Britain
Morrissey is so good at being evil and sinister that even watching this video, I don't trust him haha
Best character in the show
Agreed, I liked him and hated him at the same time ! In s4 when he returns I hoped he could redeem himself, but it didn't happen...
+SteveThePolyhistor he did redeem himself. He became the Governor again.
Rise of Governor was such an emotional book, loved it
That plot twist near the end BLEW MY MIND
I love how these British actors get an American accent so easily.

Props to this guy. I think he's the most convincing actor in the show.
While David does make a fantastic villain, he also makes an excellent hero. Loved him as Jackson lake on doctor who
The Governor is badass I hate 2 see him go
I KNOW HE WAS MY FAVORIT CHARETER
HE'S BRITISH
so much hotter
Yes true
i miss him so much
He LOOKS and SOUNDS like *LIAM NEESON*!
That's why I find him hot...
Different accent!

Robin Burnette read the book
didnt realize he was changing his accent for the show. his actual voice isnt bad though, its not grating. like others said, its similar to liam neeson's
Only to American ears. Liam Neeson is from northern Ireland, David Morrissey is from Liverpool, quite different regions in the UK.
My favorite character
David Morrissey for Lex Luthor in Batman Vs Superman film. just throwing is name out there.
Jesse fucking Eisenberg

I love the Governor. For me the best of The Walking Dead
One of my favourite characters of tv show. He is very complex and interesting.
He's aged and gained some weight, he looks more like a wholesome grandpa than a villain now.
my favorite character since Shane
He looks so different from when he was in The Smiths. You could almost believe it's not the same guy!
We miss you king
This guy gets better looking with the years. Saw him in something circa '92 and yeah, he was cute and a fine actor, but now he's DILFy af.
In the comic/book lore, it's his niece. In the Tv show, she is his daughter. They didn't want to waste time giving him a backstory that wouldn't affect the rest of the cast, so they changed it.
am I the only one that wants the governer to become a king

He would make for an excellent Norman Osborn.
I met David recently filming in The north of England really cool guy, Really professional!
I just finished reading both of the novels and they are fantastic. Recommend them to any fans of the comics/TV show.

David Morrisey and Liam Nesson should do a movie together.

His Holiness but Woodbury was in Georgia I think and Alexandria and the savior so n stuff was up near Washington. I might be totally off but..
@@bobcatsquad No, you're right. They're very far away so them meeting was always unlikely.
He's Brit? OMG how many talented actors are they in the UK?
Great interview! The Governor is awesome!
I want Michonne, give her up and this all goes away.
Haiiiiiii :3
rise of the govenor was amazing! i was so disapointed with road to woodbury =( and i was counting the days till it came out so that hurt even more
Handsome dude David, from my hometown, great actor 🙌🏻
I've read all the comics so far. Haven't seen the show but I like the way they try to make things differently. That way there are always surprises.
Wow he looks like liam nesson the way he talks the aura wow
He killed Hershel :(
your point is...
The only one who doesn't make mistakes is the one who doesn't do anything :D .
Because rick lied

i'm sad knowing he will be dead by the time the seasons done because of how well he portrays the governor.
Sharon Stone chose him for Basic Instinct 2.
So I would guess: magnum.
He scares the hell out of me as the govenor
It would be sooooo awesome to work for IGN.
He should be the next doctor who
Well technically...
just wait till he meet rick grimes
He's from Liverpool, England
Oh my! Another British actor in this program. All the top actors in this US program seem to be Brits. But they are really talented.👍👍
Holy Shit i just remembered him
I was thinking the same thing.
petlovergirll alot of English actors have always portrayed Southerners, Vivien Leigh portrayed the biggest female southern icon of all time "Scarlett O'Hara"in Gone with the Wind & in real life she was English
Great actor
Why isnt he wearing a eyepatch here?
i thought The Road to Woodbury was pretty lame
I know the feeling man.
Did not know he was a scouser 0.o
Exactly what i thought when he showed up on Walking Dead
You David are cool thanks for being the best govener
Is right David lad
So is the actor that plays Rick.
Best walking dead villain ever! Hands down
This guy woulda made a GREAT Doctor.

If you knew anything, you don't have to make an entire new account, you can just change the name on the current one.
he reminds me of liam neeson
He's eye is back !!:D
Why don't you give it a break?
I Hope lee from walkind dead game comes out on the tv series.

liam neeson's long lost brother
Elvis and Snake Pliskins love child.
*You're...think we should leave you for the Biters.
I LOVE Him ❤️ David Morrissey 💏👍
the walking dead = best show on tv by far
"Bradchikenheart" speaks for itself
I like his British accent, but I really like his American accent
nope!
The Walking Dead is the best show on T.V
He's British?! :O
I'm not trying to be very, I'm deadly serious
He was a fake Doctor for one episode, that counts for something.
Not when other half of Breaking bad bad finale is out not anymore :D
Technically, Shane should have been dead by the end of season 1. If they REALLY wanted to, they could keep him for a little longer.
Hell yeah Daryl!
Guarantee I am both older, and have been here longer, than you.
Well, that's nice.
Wow you seem like a nice guy.
this isn't the place to be asking go some where else
govenor vs negan !
Yes! i got daryl med >:)
Breaking Bad... definitely gives the walking dead a run for it's money

This guys voice sounds like Liam Neasons.
Apart from having a different accent
