Dary, I'm 80 now, Deb and I have enjoyed a lot of concerts and I can say for me your's is the best, I love your music. The band you put together sounds larger than what it really is. Obviously, you are not only a great musician but you are able to get the most out of the guys you have put together. ROCK ON
Daryl's voice is at a fascinating phase here, as his voice matures. He's still got the high register, along with a deepening lower register, both filled out. He's is also particularly emotionally present and embodied (though that's his norm, it seems different here, maybe bc of the locale, or the small and venue (set) and taping, or life happenings, or...only he knows). The professional singer-performer archetype is alive!
They say never judge a book by it's cover, T Bone Wolk looks like he should be driving a tractor ! Yet he was (and I hate using past tense) one of those very special musicians who will always be remembered. He was such an important part of H & O.
@@timcooper5404 I agree, I think he helped keep Daryl grounded & the band loved him. Daryl is different these days, his ego isn't helping, been going to these shows for 40 years & I see the difference, I think time & loss has been hard on him, it's sad really.
most people don't give John Oates the credit he deserves. he has a wonderful voice. watch the "making of our kind of soul" and you will see how John blends with Daryl, John doesn't need an ego, he knows how good he is. I heard John give a local interview five or so years ago, he explained how H&O works and he explained the "famous gun shot meeting" which isn't true as widely described. I live near Philly so I know, I saw the Fourth of July thunderstorm concert, clearly the best band of the last two decades, they love their fans! and we love them!
This was not a real concert . . The real fans wanted to go in, but it was explained that this was for the albumn they made and they were hired as fans, you can tell by the guy at the pool table, who the hell would be playing pool with them playing, and also it's supposed to be like they were playing at a club .. If this was a real concert the fans would be going crazy bc especially when he sang "TKO" ... HOT 🔥🔥🔥, SEXY AS HELL!!! And he still does that sexy move that is his trademark when he's not playing an instrument, he always sneaks it in!! Gotta love them, just pure geniuses, and John Oates he is magic and he knows it! Their harmonies were never questioned, "THEY ARE JUST BADASSES" .. Love when John sings "What you see" ... Damn I wish I could have been one of those hired fans!! And then doing "Barry White", you gotta be kidding me .. This was an awesome hour and a half of these incredible songs. Absolutely geniuses!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I can't stop watching Daryl with his moves. Sexy as hell .. Thank you for this gem. 💎 👍👍
They are so good! Daryl and his moves. John and his coolness, are so fun to watch, over and over. I have always wondered why the people in the background seemed to not care, that they had some legends singing, oh so close. Now I know..thanks 💙
This was perfection!! Had never seen this concert before. Such different music. Daryl, John and crew...you are all amazing. Musicians today could never perform like this. What a gift.
Oh my goodness, how has this fabulous concert eluded me all these years. I wore out my Hall & Oates cassette tape at University. They were one of my favourite groups. WOW. This is amazing. Thank you posting.
This makes me long for just one more show where Daryl stays up front just with the mic & puts the guitar down, but I know the Lyme has probably taken a toll on his dance moves. I have had systemic Lyme for a decade & the difference between then & now in terms of freedom of movement is incredible. The fact that he can still do this at 74 ( he was about 60 here) is just incredible, the man is just blessed.
Blessed is an understatement.... too good to be real and true,,,John is too, we tend to forget about him in the prescence of such brilliance and gorgeous looks
Wow! He went deep on “Neither One of Us”. When he opened his eyes after singing the last note, you could see he was somewhere else that wasn’t on that stage. I guess I’m a terrible fan. Didn’t know about this CD. I’ve go to have it! Lucky people that are at this recording!
Just came across this on TH-cam. Absolutely amazing. Daryl and John never disappoint. And the Band is so talented also. Is this on CD or DVD to purchase?
DARYL HALL, and JOHN OATES! !!! My all time favorite singers ❤ ❤ Best Concert Ever! This is exactly what makes this band eternally above all the rest! I love you all! 😍
Are these guys from the same planet as us? I didn’t know such talent existed on earth. It’s bloomin amazing! Always like Daryl and John but this surpasses anything else they’ve ever done! Truly wonderful guys! If you ever come to the UK, (highly unlikely of course) let me know!
Oh come on never knew he did teddy p. What a....treat a great song...i still know all words.i was in my 20s hello!!! Treasure it on a week nite!!! God luv ya Daryl.....
I love Hall and Oates, they are an iconic band. Live at Daryl's house is unbelievable. He can harmonize with any music stars from oldies to current with soul!~
Love watching Daryl. Throw your hands up the air! No instrument to keep his hands busy. The it's in his blood ,music loving guy lets loose and I love it !💙
Well crap! Dinners burnt because what started out as cooking background music turned into can't take my eyes off the screen. Loved this! And I thought I had everything of their music. This was wonderful.
To be more specific, some of this album was, indeed, recorded in the Bahamas. Various sources, including AllMusic, a very reliable source, all confirm the recording locations as: A-Pawling Studio, Pawling, NY Clubhouse Studio, Rhineback, NY Great Divide Studios, Aspen, CO Studio Five Grand, Harbour Island, Bahamas
So glad I found this. They really knock out some greats from Gladys, Barry, Al Green... Set reminds me of English Top of the Pops in the 60s--great days. Great music!!! Thanks all!
A fantastic discovery. I will not be able to see Daryl and Todd in Chicago, and then I found this and listening while I do my annual garden clean up on my I Phone.........and ENJOYING SO MUCH. Blue eyes soul at its very best
I bought the Our Kind of Soul CD years ago. Enjoyed watching and hearing this concert. Discovered it by chance. Been a fan if Hall and Oates from my teenage years.
I am sure there are people who hopefully agree ,you might disagree, but one song is missing from this great song list. "Me and Mrs. Jones " , apart from " Neither One of Us" Daryl sings that song with so much feel and soul that it is better than the original.
The more I listen to it the more I like it. Thank you Daryl and Jonh and band. From the 70s to the 2020s you are in the top. What an amazing band!!!!. Makes me cry and love music...you are in heaven guys!!!! ...still loving you
I'm very impressed with John Oates. Especially at the end he does that song ooh child and he does a fabulous job on singing it.🎉🎉 Thank you John. The song came out great. Also, let's reminisce about T-Bone. We miss you dude, but you'll always be remembered. It's these concerts. I'd love to see but you're in action and you're just so damn cool 😎 awesome song!

I actually shared an elevator with him once. Felt like I was in the presence of royalty. He was not a big guy, but a giant in the world of music.
He was the glue that kept it together on soooo[ many levels

I saw them live in Memphis. Frigging great concert... Love you guys 💋 😘
Great concert, Daryl was in such a good shape… it’s a blessing to be stumbling accidentally on these treasures.. thank you.

Hopd Daryl and John work things out. Would be great to see then reunite and back on tour together.

The best Philadelphia soul
Yes
Loved Hall and Oates always on the radio 🎶 in the 70s 🌟❤️ Cool Philadelphia guys. Oh YES! 💥
Loved this Concert💕💋🎸
I dig this more than the 80s Hall and Oates must play dozen hits every show. This is Philly soul at its best done by the best
T-Bone's solo on Don't Give up on Us is sublime. John sounds Sooooooooo good!
Eddie Kendricks (RIP) would love 'Fading away' - so soulful... Thankyou so much for a stunning concert.
Ok! JOHN! 🎶WHAT U SEE IS WHAT U GET!!🎶 Yall rocked that😊

One of the best concerts with Daryl and John and company. Daryl is the whole package

Daryl keep playing and writing music you can't go wrong
I love this vibe. A little different than Daryl's House
but, still the brilliance of Hall + Oates. Their harmony is heavenly ❤
John Oats has an excellent voice on What you see 😉. Daryl Hall as soulful as ever; great performer.
Don't forget the E in Oates!
I wish I could have been there
We were just at the show! Whaddaya mean?
My absolute favorite Hall and Oates concert. I've watched it over and over again!!!❤️❤️
What a complete pleasure watching this.
If I had to choose a band to listen to every day for the rest of my life, I would want Daryl to set it up !!
Marvelous! He has musical notes in his body and soul!
One of my ALL time FAVORITE bands! Love love love my Hall and Oates!
Same Hall & Oates was my favorite band growing up and still my favorite band
Tommy Wolk - the best musician on the stage. He is missed!
