My 1st saw was a Høöskavarna 455 rancher, given to me for free. Ran that till it got tired. Bought a completely rebuilt 026 pro. Learned about modding exhausts. Then put a larger 260 air filter. Next was given a 029 Super. Rebuilt that in a 029 Super Duper (039 top end). Traded that for a tired 365xp. Rebuilt that with an OE 372 top end. Then in 2019 bought my 390xp on FB marketplace for $400. It was a 2018 model. Been building and trading ever since. It's soo much fun.
Had a big tree blow down on our property the summer of 2022 and I suddenly needed a saw to clean up the mess. I started reading about them and watching videos etc. and I found out about these old macs called a 10-10. I found one for sale on our local marketplace and was able to pick it up for not much money and having been a automotive technician for 18 years I started tinkering with it to get it running. I have always enjoyed anything with an engine on it, hot rods, muscle cars etc. I found it would fire on prime and ran like a huge air leak. I found the someone had the carb off and the base gasket was out of place. Fixed that and once I heard that sucker fire up and rumble at idle I was hooked. Now in February of 2023 I have 4 10-10's and looking for more all the time. I also have 3 of the 610 series saws and one old husky 162SE. I just love working on them and they're fun to use around the property. I love the way a small two cycle basically fits in the palm of your hand but makes so much power. The power to size/weight ratio is really really cool. Love the exhaust sound and the smell. I gotta go out in the garage and fire one up from time to time just to get that rumble. I enjoyed your interview with Mark! Thanks for sharing!
We all have a story about how we got into chainsaws.

Love mark, great guy and got quite a few parts from him!
