I worked with Margaret Moth back in the late 1980s at KHOU-TV in Houston. She was always a joy, professional and eager to get the story. I was saddened when she was later injured and heartbroken when she passed away. So vivacious and full of life. She is missed. I look forward to this film about a remarkable woman.

So many journalists give their absolute all to bring people awareness of what others are experiencing. It's such a valuable service, for a species that evolved to live in troupes, where everyone would be known to each other, but now covers the globe in what can seem to be faceless masses. It can be so hard to care about how our choices affect people we don't see every day. Journalists give strangers a face, a story, a voice. So important. It's especially poignant to watch this trailer just after reading about Victoria Roshchyna.
I am all for journalists being the story. They are a rare breed now a days. I am looking forward to this movie. Clicked blindly, and it got me to feel something in 2 minutes. Good job to the crew that created this!
We need more people like her. Especially now, during the ongoing Palestinian Genocide where so many journalists are at such great risk. Without them, we would be completely left in the dark.
Plenty of journalists covered the genocide of Jews when hamas attacked and started this war, but you choose not to listen to those journalists. So, what good are journalists? You are going to believe whatever your hatred and racism tells you to believe.
What an incredible and humbling woman. Fearless and driven. She could have had a career in front of a camera as she was photogenic but she decided to document real life tragedies of her times to shed a light on injustices and warfare happening across the world risking her own life in the process. By the way, Lucy Lawless could have played Margaret Moth in a biopic.
Very rarely do I get teary eyed and eager to watch a documentary. I love when they make documentaries about a strong, badass woman that was amazing at what she does. I'm so tired of the crappily written fictional female characters showing up in movies and TV Shows. It's just nice to see a real badass female role model that really and truly lived her life to the fullest. I've read about her before and seen much of her content, but this will be my first foray into her life completely. I can't wait to see it.
Don't forget about Liz a photojournalist for the old Baltimore Sun she was in Baghdad at the hotel bar when things started. And went in with the troops when the ground war started. Liz from Detroit she was the reel thing and my friend.
Why is Lucy Lawless's name in the title but not Margaret Moth? EDIT: I see Lucy is the director and has the name recognition. Still should have put the name pf the woman who is actually the subject in the title.
I thought the same thing. And I initially thought this was a film about Christiane Amanpour's coverage over the years, because I didn't hear Margaret mentioned.
There is something intoxicating about recording footage of an event as it happens. I understand the feeling. You completely lose any sense of danger because the only question that matters is... "Did you get the shot?"
Directed by Lucy Lawless?!?! THE Lucy Lawless?!?! OMFG what a great directorial debut! I can't wait to see this! Margaret Moth is a LEGEND! Go Lucy! One badass motherfucker telling the story of another badass motherfucker! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Someone should have thought of a better, and unique, title for this. I've been searching "Never Look Away", and the only thing that comes up is a 2018 film about two artists that fell in love. And it comes up multiple times, with nothing showing up for this film.
odd...Never Look Away is an unforgettable 2018 German film based on the life of artist Gerhard Richter. these folks couldn't come up with a different title?
My grandfather was definitely addicted. Went to every war he personally could as a soldier even if our country wasn't involved. Survived all of it, but died by his own hand.
@@KatharineOsborne Same here. As a marine and after as a war correspondent. I guess there's something about absolute power that changes ones' perspective.

We have zero countries helping with troops or long range weapons while North Koreans are joining the invasion.

Up until that point, there’s a very “war is danger and danger is cool” vibe that totally ignores the plights of the peoples she documented. I hope the actual film isn’t this callous and tone deaf.
Maybe it's just honest about what people felt. I worked on Anmesty related things as a film maker years ago and found the crimes occurring in the footage absolutely sickening and disturbing. But I'm not an adrenaline junkie. Margaret was willing to risk her life to get footage in the action. She was in as much risk as many other combatants. She wasn't a civilian caught in the crosshairs or under the bombs because they were falling on their neighbourhood. She chose to take the job. And perhaps that's how she processed facing those dangers to get the reality captured so that it could be served up in the news so people in the West saw the mess that their tax dollars were making in other nations where wars of adventures (e.g. Gulf war v2) were occurring and where the west were trying to end a genocide (Bosnia).
