TLDR: Both Satanism and Christianity have diametrically opposed hang-ups, both of which are only half the picture. I'm confused as to how many people misunderstand everything to do with Christianity or Satanism. A lot of Satanists are simply Anti-Christian. But both have extremely important values at their core. Let me explain... There are two primary orientations of human psychology... well, consciousness is a wide spectrum of mind-states, so I should say, it's rather a dichotomy of consciousness; One focused on the divine/sacred aspect of the universe, and one focused on the profane/physical aspect. One is not better than the other, they are just diametrically opposed to one another, I just happen to stand in the middle, so I see it clearly because I have no emotional attachment to either philosophy, but let's be honest, they're both religions (religion comes from the latin origin meaning, "to bind", as in to be "bound to an idea"). Christians embody the modern Sun (son) worshipers where as Satanism embodies the worship of the planet furthest away from the sun (known at the time), which is Saturn (the 6th planet). It's just an odd uncanny coincidence that Saturn has a hexagonal storm on it's North pole. If the Hermetics were correct, the universe is made of descending levels (frequencies) of universal consciousness. "God"/"The Creative Force"/"Pure Abstract Consciousness"/"Universal Consciousness"/"All That Is"/"The Logos" is simply the organizing and creative principle of the universe. As this unknowable vibration loses energy, it slows down in various frequencies that eventually slow enough to be sensed as "physical". So by that insight theorized by Robert Lansa as Biocentrism and called "Emanationism" by Pico Mirandola, the physical world is often called by many cultures, the DEVITONIC plane, because it is the furthest away from the Source of the universe, physical matter has the least amount of energy, and is therefore detectable by our sensory organs. Satan is simply the physical counterpart to consciousness, the physical brain and ego. Which is why so many Satanic rituals involve physical pain, because you can't have a spiritual experience if your body is in pain. It kicks your brain into survival mode, making you ignore or forget the spiritual aspect of life. If you want to use religious language, Christians worship "God" or "All That Is" or "Creation Itself", and Satanist simply worship the self and physicality. Both are true in some ways, but both are also false. God IS all that is, and since self IS part of all that is, by extension, ALL IS SELF. It's in the alphabet and language because it is a symbol of the divine mind principle and is one with all. "Loth", the tenth letter of the Hebrew alphabet is the king letter and shares it's meaning with i and 10 (or any multiple thereof) which is a symbol for the word "God" itself. The Christian value I mentioned at the beginning of my post is belief in Objective Truth, which is where Satanism is wrong saying that Truth is relative and based on perception. This manifests as Absolutism vs. Relativism (Perennialism), which are diametrically opposed on every level. Living in this paradigm blinds one from seeing the true essence of what actually IS because reality cannot be easily placed in such a nice and neat box. One can never encapsulate reality into a philosophy or even a paradigm. The challenge is to see through and beyond it.
