@@MasterofVoice your face reaction was priceless thank you. Pomoy was born in Imus, Cavite and raised in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur. When he was young, his father was incarcerated while his mother left him alone with his younger sibling and went to Manila. He was later adopted by a police officer and did odd jobs when he was a teenager. Later on, both his biological father and mother had separate families on their own. Pomoy had discovered a talent of his while doing a poultry work: singing in both a male tenor voice and a strikingly convincing female soprano voice. This talent of his paved the way for him to join different contests in both the amateur and professional leagues. He tried his luck in Talentadong Pinoy, but didn't make it. He later joined the second season of Pilipinas Got Talent, and made the cut.
At the course of his PGT stint, he was able to fulfill his lifelong dream to reunite with his family.

And he is doing all this SITTING DOWN!! I admire his countertenor, but it’s his tenor/baritone that is the heart of it for me. It’d love to see that voice fully unleashed, standing up for full vocal support, not imitating someone else but being his own best. He is extraordinary.
Hard to believe this was a man who was left alone on the streets when he was seven. When he was scared he sang. What a terrifying life for a child. He saw He won Phiippines Got Talent. He was hoping to find his family. He did and became world famous. He is currently on AGT The Champions. Check out his full story. What a talent!!!!

you are correct, many singers can do that but only Marcelito can *nailed* that.
He has an amazing life story, living on the streets in the Philippines. Watch his appearance on the Ellen Show, where she interviews him using an interpreter.(He isn't really fluent in the languages he is singing here, but just studied the Celine Dion/Andrea Bocelli recording.) He also does bits of 2 songs. Don't stop the video before it's over because Ellen has a surprise for him at the end. He says that the action he does at the end of the song, when he is finished singing, is symbolically removing the spirit of the female singer.

Remember too he’s sitting down singing opera in two languages he’s not fluent in. He won Philippines got talent years ago then was invited to enter America’s got talent champions in 2020 and went on to win.

First time listening to this song too as I've been too preoccupied with Akin Ka Na Lang from Morissette. His baritone voice is so rich and deep- im in love! His counter tenor vocals are equally impressive. This fella is really talented in his vocal gifts he is bestowing to us :)

Marcelito Pomoy is the worlds greatest VOICE IMITATOR Several artists have the same range but none can deliver it sounding exactly like the original artist.He’s impersonation is not matched by anyone else.His impersonation of artists from around the world is incredible.He perfectly sings in multiple languages ,also speaks several languages.No advantages with proper education or vocal coach. His voice is truly between him and God not hyped up synthesizers etc.

I've been watching Marcelino Pomoy's "THE PRAYER" even before his AGT appearance. ANd it never fails to put me in TEars (of Joy).
You notice his eyes when marcelito first sang in the opera voice, then switched voices back and forth.... just a stunned look in disbelief..
His cover of The power of love is amazing is like hes not breathing amazing cover.
Okay, so I keep watching this over and over. I love the true masterclass he puts on display in this song. I cannot explain how he switches from Soprano to Baritone so effortlessly. I would say such a thing is truly impossible, yet there it is, live and without auto-tune. A truly gifted, gifted artist. I also love your reaction. There's such an innocence that comes across, meaning the pureness of your response, not a lack of knowledge of music. You put it all out there without trying to use bravado to mask surprise.
