do you think the roll is a little bit slower bc the change in the stone ?
i mean, i use to set the stone with alt plus D
with the change now he tends to put it like, 100 units away and i feel like, is slower
and also for a short roll stun it doesn't work, you have to put the stone in the ground, thing taht i don't know if i want to learn

I have never used that mechanic with clicking on my hero so he puts the stone in front of me.
But i can imagine its just a bug which they dont fix or its because they changed Roll few months ago that the start of the roll is delayed.
I think its better to use the stone whenever u need it, putting the stone always instant in front of you is first of all wasting stones sometimes and its also forcing yourself into bad positions specially with the lvl 10 talent^^
