Father & Son - Julian and Christoph Prégardien and Michael Gees

Father & Son - an new CD of two tenors in one family! Julian and Christoph Prégardien who recorded an exhilarating new album together with pianist Michael Gees. Julian and Michael arranged famous Schubert Lieder, but also more traditional songs of , for instance Friedrich Silcher. It is astounding how similar the two voices of father and son are and how well the arrangements of the songs for voices and piano. They fit like a glove and seem just perfect for two tenors!
Singing together is an important theme on this CD. Singing with family, friends, your community, it is all about sharing your pain, grief but also happiness with others and maybe even letting go of some of your pain through music!
A sincere emotion shared together. Music is indeed a universal language!

Einfach nur herrlich, die beiden gemeinsam singen und Fußballspielen zu sehen! Dass Julian in genau die Fußstapfen seines Vaters getreten ist, mit dem gleichen Kernrepertoire sowie ähnlich großem Talent und Erfolg ist einfach genial. Auch wenn Christophs Stimme in seiner Blütezeit in den 90ern unerreicht ist: Christoph lebt für mich irgendwie tatsächlich in Julian weiter!

Ein wunderbare Duo. Man spürt so viel menschliche Wärme! Und beide für sich unglaublich tolle inspirierende Sänger. Ich könnte das 24h am Tag hören.
Aber wenn Ch.Pregardien sagt, man könne die Stimmen kaum auseinander halten, dann möchte man ihn umarmen und sagen: Doch schon. Man hört es. Aber alles ist gut. Genie kann man nicht mit Genie vergleichen. Es ist Einzigartigkeit auf Augenhöhe. Und was kann man einem Sohn mehr wünschen, als mit einer solchen Gabe gesegnet zu sein!
