The darkest chapter in Frank Lloyd Wright's life

On August 15, 1914, the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright was working on a project in Chicago, when he suddenly received a piece of news. His beautiful house which he had designed and built in Wisconsin had been burned down. Imagine getting that news that your home, which you built and designed, is up in flames. He was devastated ofcourse, but the thing was he had not received the most important news by that time. That his home wasn’t just burnt, that 7 people were also murdered in that very house.
This is a story about Love & betrayal, a story about architecture & a story of a scandal, this is the story of the massacre at the Taliesin.

This video was so terrifying that i stopped doing my work to see this.
Your storytelling was so strong that i was so indulged, even after the video is over, i am thinking about what happened that day.
You aren't limited to the audience from architecture background.
This channel is growing beyond that.
Apart from this, i never knew that Frank Lloyd wright had such a disturbing love life. And even after all these incidents, he kept on working and creating master pieces.
And the spirit to rebuild the house three times. Oh god!

I knew this story because I have been to both Taliesin locations and several of Wright's homes and buildings. I am fascinated by his work, he was a pioneer of architecture and design but he was also an arrogant man with a very unconventional lifestyle. You did a great job with your research and explanation of this tragedy.

Yeah it was quite a dark chapter, in my documentary on FLW I just quickly talked about this incident, but I knew the whole incident deserved a separate video. It was a traumatic but a defining chapter in his life.

it seems very obvious to me that julian's stress probably came from a slew of racial tension that was more than likely taking place in the house. especially due to the time period, and him becoming paranoid to the point where he felt the need to protect himself at night, i feel as though being fired and probably still being exposed to that treatment felt like a last straw. it was something that happened a good few times back then. idk why i don't see anyone mentioning that.
