    I believe this is one of the most beautiful aircraft ever built next to Concorde. Very glad to see it preserved.

    hands down the prettiest bomber ever - no other contender for this title.

    I spent 10 years at RAF Marham working on the Victor K.2 tankers. A truly magnificent aircraft, and much superior to the Vulcan, in that it was faster, could climb higher, carry a bigger bomb load and in a dive was, just, supersonic. To know the gate guard at Marham was scrapped was somewhat heart-breaking, she didn't deserve that.

    It'd great if I could the same in-depth restoration as I spent 5 years in the 1960's as a Royal Air Force Airframe Fitter working on HP Victors

    Always loved the Victor, supersonic in a dive, and capable of carrying 35 - 1000 pounders, a truly awesome looking and performing aeroplane

    Fascinating although the narration could be delivered at less than warp speed.

    This is good news. I spent my first Air Training Corps summer camp at RAF Marham, were they also had the Vickers Valiant that's now on display at RAF Cosford, and lots of wonderful HP Victors. It's great that you're now on stream to keep us updated on ongoing restoration projects👍.
    From my, and others' comments on another video, you really do need to s-l-o-w down your narration. Indeed, a couple of times, it wasn’t just far to fast, but was completely unintelligible 😢. However, I'm sure that someone with sound engineering skills will be happy to volunteer their services to assist you. Just put out a call (unless you happen to live near RAE Farnborough, and I'll be happy to help). Not a criticism, but your work is far too important to those of us in the historic aviation community to not help you to be the best you can be. 😊 - Rick

    The victor is a beautiful aircraft, didn't get the recognition as it's partners the Vulcan and Valiant.
    Thanks for this video, next time could you please refrain from having the music bleeding over the narration, it's unnecessary.👍👍👍👍

    Thanks for this update. Great to see this iconic plane getting the attention it needs to survive for the coming decades. I was hoping they'd restore her to flying condition but I guess that ship has sailed a while ago. Why did this had to be compressed into sub 4 minutes ? I would not have minded if you would would have taken a minute extra and kept the interpunction between the words intact.

    I was talking to one of the restoration team at Duxford just before it was readied for display. The Victor was not completely restored in time for display. It seems they didn't meet the deadline set by the powers that be.

    Get it back in the air where she belongs, it is criminal that the Victors don't have a flying example, and don't get me started about the shoddy treatment of the Vulcans, both should have an example kept in airworthy condition. I remember seeing these great warbirds flying as a kid and the Lightnings and Harriers, a time when Britain was still Great in terms of building aircraft and other engineering, no we can't even build a railway line to Manchester let alone anything else!

      Although I TOTALLY agree with you, a flying Vulcan will, to me, be more important what aflying Victor. Both planes built for very high level work. Structurally, the Vulcan adapted to low level ‘aerobatics’ as a display aircraft that would probably tear the wings off a victor.

    Interesting but the gabbling commentary is really annoying.....................SLOW DOWN

  • @timgosling6189
    @timgosling6189 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Poor commentary. For heavens sake slow it down! At 0:48, for instance, you seem to say "Avro's introduced nearly 6 years later in 1958". What did you actually say?

      That wasnt 'Avro' it was 'however', very sorry

    Too bad they left it out on the tarmac for 40yrs. Hangered, would have been a much easier less costly resto project
