Alias was iconic back in the day. Every week ppl tuned in to see what new disguise Sydney was going to wear, dressed as her red wig version for Halloween, did skits and spoofs of this show and all while social media was in its infancy. It became part of pop culture and she was so badass. Loved loved loved this show. This is the show that jump started Jennifer Garner AND Bradley Copper's careers.
I always forget this isn't a two-parter, but a 69 minute episode ABC aired commercial free when it aired originally. Despite the fact that it doesn't seem to get much love now, this show was loved in it original run.
Jennifer Garner's stunt double was Shauna Duggins, who had previously been Sarah Michelle Gellar's stunt double on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Shauna was also Melissa Benoist's stunt double on the first season of Supergirl. She has won two Emmys for stunt coordination in 2018 & 2019 for Glow.
I almost screamed when I saw this posted. It’s SUCH a GOOD show and nobody ever reacts to it. A banger of a pilot episode. PLEASE keep reacting to it! I think you’ll really enjoy it. It’s got great characters, action, storytelling, humor. Especially the first few seasons. And Bradley Cooper before he was famous. ;) Also, Jennifer Garner is such a powerhouse in this.
This show is so criminally underrated nowadays. It's my greatest disappointment that no reactors react to this amazing show. They don't know what they're missing. 😫
I cheered when I saw this! No one ever reacts to Alias which is a shame because I loved this show. It was so good. Jennifer Garner definitely did most of her fight scenes. She once said she wanted them to look as real as possible rather than having a stunt double doing them while she just grunted to make it seem like it was her instead. Welcome to Alias! It's a ride. Now I feel like getting out my DVD boxsets of this and rewatching lol. Then rewatching Nikita because Maggie Q was a badass in that show and it's got a similar vibe/premise at the start.
Man, I had forgotten how much happened in the pilot! I love the pacing of the show, the characters are amazing, the action sequences are amazing. I think Jennifer Garner did most of the fight scenes, but I’m not sure about stunts. I do know that the chair flip was a stunt double 😆

I believe the answer to the stunt question is that she did more than you'd expect, but far far less than everything. But seriously, the stunts get MUCH bigger as the show went on. MUCH bigger. She did basic choreographed close-in fight moves, but everything else is a stunt double. It's actually part of why the crazy wigs continue through a lot of the series. They made it easy to hide the face, but also imply the someone fighting is Jennifer Garner from a distance or angle.

This is one of my favorite shows of all time. It would keep you on your feet, keep you guessing all the time. The episodes get better and better! Jen did most of her stunts, but she did have a couple doubles for doing the big stuff.

This show had A-list guests stars aplenty including Isabella Rossellini, Angela Bassett, and Oscar winners, Quentin Tarantino, Faye Dunaway, & Joel Grey. S2 finale, "The Telling" holds the record for longest girl fight on tv. S2's "Phase One" is the series most watched episode. S4 was the most watched season. 18:40 The S1, S4, & S5 finales each feature the Mueller Device.
Alias was the first show I ever fell in love with back when I was a lil pre-teen. Looking forward to revisiting it by following your reaction - there’s a disappointing dearth of them. Also, since you love the music - worth mentioning that a lot of the tracks are changed in streaming due to rights issues, if you enjoy the series I’d recommend checking it out on DVD!
@@kbaylor123 The composer of the ALIAS soundtrack ist Michael Giacchino, who also did the music for LOST, FRINGE, the latest Star Trek movies and some animation movies like The Incredibles, Ratatouille and Up. But the show had some inspirations from Run Lola Run.

People always talk about Tom Cruise running. I find Jennifer Gardner's running just as good. And she runs in Alias. A lot.
