The tajin is not spicy mostly citrusy and salty. The spice on the pickle came from the chamoy. The pickle did not look appetizing. Tacos are always my go to Mexican food
That chamoy pickle is the stuff of nightmares. Guacatela! 😨 Edit: by the way, that kit that you got that you have no use for is for micheladas or fruit. You could sprinkle tajin on fruit or anything that needs seasoning. And chamoy could also go on fruit or on the rim of a beer with tajin.
I envy the amount of food you can eat in one afternoon, I’ve wanted to go out to a food market like this and try many different foods but I get full to quickly
Im surprised you found the salsa too spicy! I have had hot pot with Koreans, Cambodians, and a Vietnamese. I found their tolerance for spicy food was higher than mine 😅
@@nobodyknowsme11 actually it's a compliment! In my experience Asians have a higher spice tolerance level. I quite enjoy hanging out with different races and experiencing their food and culture. Only a narrow minded person would see this as racism.....🤔😞
Steve, your El Salvador videos were a bit hit ! You should totally travel down to El Salvador and make some videos there ! It is the safest country in Latin America :)
flautas of that portion in Mexicali where I live will cost you $2 max. That is not chilaquiles exactly. Totopos should be cooked with salsa. That's just tortilla chips with salsa on top. Most of the flautas in Mexicali are cooked by the Chinese immigrants because it not much different from cooking 'chun kun' eggroll. Mexicali has the largest Chinese community within Mexico mainly Cantonese. You should visit here and do some Chinese food tour because there are so many Chinese restaurants that do buffet in by serving style.
I hate when they make chilaquiles like that. Mexicans don't usually fry the tortilla to crispy level when making chilaquiles. Your supposed to fry to a leathery level so it holds up to the sauce without falling apart like when you make enchiladas. And chilaquiles are supposed to be soggy cause they are meant to absorb the salsa.
The chilaquiles weren’t authentic and they gotta be soggy he just topped them with with salsa when you really got fry the tortilla and then add the salsa and cook them together not top them with ore maid tortilla chips
The good thing about this videos it's discover those places you should never go. We appreciate that, it save us a lot of disappointment. Great job Rockstar!!!! 🎉👩🏻🍳
Those were not flautas, they were taquitos! The main differences are the tortillas, taquitos are rolled up in corn tortillas and flautas are rolled up in flour tortillas!
This is Los Angeles street food .. you can find hundreds of authentic Mexican food in LA, but this is a night market and yes they make the food fun and for Social Media .. food is good too!
FOODIE HERE ☝️!...but sorry bud this episode shoulda been scrapped ...cuz aside from the overpriced crepes EVERYTHING looked below mediocre served by indifferent emolyees. ..I still 👍 and subscribed for ya tho'.
I see a lot of comments about not being "authentic Mexican" food! Really? Is birra Ramen authentic? Or the Sushi? Nothing wrong with fusion food!!! I make blackened fish tacos and I would put them up against any fish taco recipe! Try it first before no turn your nose up ❤🙏❤
@@simoncat I get all of that. My point is more about being closed minded! You grew up in Mexico, was there Chinese food or other types of food there? Even Al Pastor was brought to Mexico by people from the middle East, Lebanon if I'm not mistaken...
It may not be authentic, but for a night out with the family to get convenient good food why not everything looks good except for maybe the food coloring involved in those taquitos L O L!
The seller has them as chilaquiles, but those look like nachos to me. h At Viejas I ordered some , which looked like these nachos as well. All cities and different countries make food differently like an Empanada for example ie….. Italian food here is different from over there. But these are NACHOS
There's a few Mexican-Japanese sushi fusion restaurants in my area. Many folks say the authentic Mexican seafood plates are good but the MEX/JAP fusion plates are ass
At least half of that food is more like county fair food. The churros I would eat with only the traditional cinnamon sugar. It's not brown sugar. The torta and tacos I would eat too. All the rest is carnival crap food.
Which food stand would you go to?

TYVM Steve, you can tell that the sushi rolls are made by a person who works at a Sushi restaurant. AWESOME PLACE AND FOOD!

Love to see your face when you were having all those foods.
Those are NOT AUTHENTIC CHILAQUILES, they’re NACHOS!!! Definitely not the way my abuela & mamá make them. Glad you liked them though.
Exactly my mom didn't made it like that either
right
You Guys are liars, This is authentic mexican Food, better Then everything else. My abuela made them just like that !!!!! Dont Listen to them

Those are lazy Chilaquiles😅
Hi Steve
Looks amazing. I would love to hit this place but is this location handicap friendly?

Very interesting!
Sushi idea sounds great for ppl who prefer cooked fish.
I agree my mom never made them like that! Maybe because she’s Vietnamese

Is it true Mexican cuisine is not allowed to have any bright green vegetables? It's considered very unlucky right?

Yoo I saw you
Well he named them chilakiles so that’s just his lazy take on chilaquiles. Not something I would try but not gonna hate on it either
Thee mexican sushi game is so cut/paste, about 99% of them are fried. All have the same generic flavor
Those chilaquiles were sad af.
Came here after watching this review. Cant say food was of good quality…
And area is a bit too sketchy
Dam bro first time.watching and you sure could eat.
Them taquitos look like chorro

Mexican style sushi 🤢 I thought people in Tijuana just didn’t know how to make it but it’s a style from Sinaloa. It’s not good IMO.
