You'll be ok. They will give you Antibiotics in Hospital, you and baby will be just fine.

Please help... I tested positive for group b strep had normal delivery all natural only complication was my bladder wouldnt work so I was catheterized several times to get it to work again. 8 days after delivery I came down with a high fever and abdominal pain and was admitted to the hospital with group b in my bloodstream. Hospital staff would not tell me what was going on and told me I was being admitted for a uti and wasnt until 4 days at the hospital I was told it was group b strep. Im still currently on iv antibiotics will be for a total of 15 days. I can not find any info about this happening to moms.

If you aren't pregnant it doesn't require treatment...it comes and goes naturally.

My doctor didn't even do a swab he tested in my urine.. Is that true he can test for GBS this way?

I just had a urine test sent away and they said it was positive. In sweden we dont get antibiotics unless we have issues like continuing urine infections or similar. We only get antibiotics during labour. Personally i am requesting a planned c section for multiple reasons, gbs just being one of them.

I was positive GBS my first prenatal appointment and never tested again because my ob said we don't need to test again we will give you antibiotics when delivering baby and during labor, my baby's heart was 200 which is high and I had C-section because of that and baby was kept in NICU and they gave my baby antibiotics too incase GBS affected her and did so many test but everything came negative. That's my first pregnancy story and I hope my second one will be VBAC.
