Yes, any of Yamaha’s NS series. And that’s not a dry sound though. However, their tweeters are not great and a sound scene is not precise. And that’s not a judgement of the yt video))

I have a pair of Yamaha's excellent NX-N500 mini monitors. A/B active self powered, XLR balanced and wireless and ethernet lan for Yamaha's Musiccast multi room streaming platform. What i have sounds amazing. I can only imagine Yamaha making streaming network version of these speakers in active version. The sound d would be out of this world. I'm still waiting for Yamaha to make a new mini monitor network speaker.
Most of the times yes, but when they are this close together, this will probably give the more realistic soundstage without losing much focus with a room this size (this is just a quess)

I didn't sound them in real life, but just have to point out a lot of companies that make high-end systems also make entry level, or at least start from mid. KEF, Dali, Bowers&Wilkins, even Focal has some not-so-expensive models - I think the science (The physics and engineering of speakers, electronics etc.) for a cheap speakers and expensive is the same, but of course the materials are much improved, so you get a more high end system. We have in film school a 500$ euro Yamaha active speakers, and I think they sound nice for the price, so I can actually imagine it could be good.
very nice system ,this yamaha are very good sounding some do not refer yamaha when talking about good speakers but some monitors i bought in the 70´s still using them on my home studio assembled in 1970 ,with improvements till today, also have accuphse power amplifiers from the 70´s the last i bought was made by Eng. Carver that later in the 80´s bought a entire amplification system made by him in it´s own name "CARVER" and some huge Tannoy speakers to cope with it, i can´t move them not even with help from my son ,already 50 years old, we have to put them on wheels and only then can be moved but hardly

Great sound but in Canada they cost $25,000 a pair! About $18,000 in the US. They are simply not that much better than original NS 1000s to justify such a ridiculous price. I don't know why companies charge so excessive for legacy products. Inflation has jumped roughly five times since the 1978 but these are more than 25 times the cost of the original NS 1000s.
Oddly, these speakers greatly prefer tube amps... I hate tube amps, but when i auditioned these with a good tube amp, they came alive vs the 30k solid state amp they were first hooked up to... go figure.

Yeah they aren't accurate then are they. You want speakers that colour the music rather than present an accurate sound. Speakers that colour the music changing the sound are fake. Hi-fi is all about keeping the signal path as natural, clean, unfiltered, unwanted noise and other effects. Yamaha do this. Keep the sound neutral, you know, how it's meant to be played. If the source is musical this will show in the sound. What you hear is what the production studio put into it with all their blood sweat and tears. The speakers will show up poor recordings. They will capture the mood of the song, then these speakers will play the mood inte ded by the production studio. You can't get any more accurate. This is what Hi-Fi is about. Now take your speakers that change the sound and colour it to how the manufacturer intended. This isn't pursuit of the perfect sound anymore...
@@MaxPower-zp7wy I had numerous speakers . I stick to KLH Model 5. Superb sounding... I also have studio monitors , but at the end of the day , MUSIC makes me relax, through this KLH . I stopped judging equipment, and I have started enjoying music. Of course these Yamaha's are triple the price of KLH , but I seek emotion not accuracy.

Perfect tribute to the legendary NS1000M, the Accuphase amplifer seems to be a perfect compliment here.
These speakers deserve a bigger room. They really shine when you give them a ton of space.
And the tweeters should be facing in. Flip them around and the overall presentation will be better.
