There is no control over the reduced file size. I want to reduce my file to 4MB but adobe automatically reduces it to 1MB which is almost unreadable. How do you control the saved file size?
That is an excellent question! I don't believe that Acrobat offers a way to reduce a PDF to a specific size. However, after selecting "Compress a PDF," you can then select "Advanced Optimization," and that dialog box will give you quite a bit more control over how elements such as images and fonts are compressed.
@@Coolaid-ye9nd After hours of trying different methods I managed to come up with my own solution: open the PDF in Google Chrome - > Select Print -> from the printer dropdown options select PDF instead of a printer (if one is connected) -> modify the options to your liking and Save. Chrome resaves the PDF much lower in size. I hope this helps!
Hello. I found your video helpful. However, my Adobe Acrobat doesn't have the save as others or the reduced bottom. How can I reduce the size of a PDF file in an app without these features
Thank you for watching! Acrobat doesn't provide a way to specify the quality or amount of reduction when using the feature shown in this tutorial. However, that certainly would be a helpful option. I encourage you to leave feedback with Adobe about this issue.
All the steps shown here are listed with images on my website at erinwrightwriting.com/reduce-pdf-size-in-adobe-acrobat/. Thank you for watching!

It made the file BIGGER, great.

Great Video!
Thank you so much!
It doesn't tell me how to control the quality of the reduction.

This only reduced my 4826 kb file to 4825kb - NOT AT ALL HELPFUL
I am sorry to hear that your file wasn't sufficiently reduced. If you are an Acrobat subscriber, I encourage you to report the issue to Adobe.
Mine did not reduce at all
Thanks 🙏
