    I've done exactly the same thing with a second hand 750 gallon fiberglass EZ Pond that didn't have a bottom drain installed and had to raise the legs up too. A tile cutting bit in a jigsaw also works well to cut fiberglass. I spoke to Allan at EZ Pond before installing and he gave some great advice and also said I didn't need to install the flange. I just used 12 stainless steel screws with bigger heads and half a tube of CT1 to seal it. Will be filling in a few days once pipework is done, hopefully no leaks! I've got a lounge full of last year's koi fry eager to get in the new pond 🙂

      Smashing I was playing with the idea of not using the flange but I didn't have any stainless washers or i wouldn't have used it but as long as it don't leak ill be happy 🙂. I'm the same Ive got a lot of fry quickly out growing the tank they are in 🙂.

    great video.. This winter was my first time buying 50 Japanese koi that where tiny but this way I can pick out 10 or so I want to add to my new pond. Doing a 35'foot L x 10'foot W and we are going with a constructed wetland filter Just sold my swimming pool to make room for it. I am sure I can sell off the remaining fish with no problems thanks for passing along your fry videos

      I used to buy small Japanese koi but now I get them from Cuttlebrook koi farm. Sounds like a good size pond it should be nice 🙂

    You could glue a small stub of 4inch pipe in the bottom drain and then put the rubber boot on.

    Thanks for the video Adam. You could put wheels or a bogey on the bottom of that tank if you move it around a lot. Would make it easy to move when empty. Be good to see the Cuttlebrook Koi fry in more detail. Especially the really nice ones. I will look forward to it.

    • @AdamJulyan
      @AdamJulyan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I would be too tempted to move it around without emptying it lol. Ill try and do an in depth look at the fry shortly there are some really nice fish in the tank but its hard to tell when they all start attacking food 🙂

    Adam, I never wear gloves because I find that the gloves just stick to the silicone/adhesive and you end up with filthy hands regardless.
    I remember starting a new job on a Monday and doing a big task with Puraflex on the Saturday. I got it everywhere and no amount of spirit based cleaner or soap could shift it from my hands, arms, head and face. The only thing that worked was a metal scouring pad... Which also removed my skin. I was left with no choice but to go to my new job with black hands. It took a week before it wore away. They were not hugely impressed and I got fed up having to explain my hands to everyone.
    It didn't leak though.

    • @AdamJulyan
      @AdamJulyan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that's true the gloves ended up ripping anyway so whatever you do you get it on your hands.
      😂😂 That's great I know the feeling when you have black fingers and nails everyone thinks your going to die or give them nasty disease 😂.
      I haven't managed to fill the tank yet but really hoping it does not leak 🙂

    @Mikemkp 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looking great buddy you could put some 200 mm thick celotex underneath to add more strength so it don’t dip at the bottom just cut channel out for the bottom drain and pipe work just about to do exactly the same Adam 👍🏻

    • @AdamJulyan
      @AdamJulyan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it would be a really good idea to insulate it as these tanks have a huge problem with temperature but I wont be running it through winter so not too worried. Good luck with your setup 🙂

      The cable comes out of the bulb into a rather large controller from that it just goes to a standard uk plug although i think it comes with bare wires you have to put the plug on it.

    Hi Adam, I hope you don’t mind if I could ask some advise? Nearly finished my 2200g pond with nexus 320 and 20” micro k1 bead. Was thinking of getting 3 tosai koi to slowly start off the nitrogen cycle then adding some more in a couple of months or so. Is 3 small koi to small to start off the cycle? How many would you recommend to start with? Keep up the good work!

    • @AdamJulyan
      @AdamJulyan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's best to start of slowly and keep adding there is no right or wrong answer if you want to put 3 fish in for a bit they will be fine they wont really even need a filter in that size tank but it will get things started and put the system in a better position to add more fish. Thanks 🙂

    Nice job Adam, quick question off-topic if I may? When in the past you have sold some of your fry, how did you go about it? I have 40 from last year I want to sell on and I'm curious how you managed to sell a lot more so quickly?

    • @AdamJulyan
      @AdamJulyan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didnt sell them quickly to be honest that's why I have too many fish in my main pond lol. But the best way is eBay make sure you have some bags and Oxygen if you can and you'll be fine.

    • @AdamJulyan

      I probably could have but spindrifter are notorious for slow response I did order a 3" and then thought I know it wont come for 3 months so why bother. It's a good point that if you want to build a pond with one then it should be the first thing to order.
