when diving in 4 meter deep water how often do you equalize?... i am planning on surfacing every 3-5 mins as i search the bottom of lake...any tips are appreciated...thanks for sharing
Thanks for the tip about the education portion! It's like 699$ CAD before taxes to get open water certified here and that can be a barrier! (but also learning about some of those things like rupturing your lungs DOES make me want to get proper training to do this safely. I am looking at becoming a liveaboard sailor and scuba diving (shallow dives) are somewhat essential skills for under the waterline boat repairs. Thanks I will keep looking into things
I looked for the online courses your described and the link doesn’t work….l am also looking for a good instructor in Tallahassee Florida if you have any suggestions
So whats the actual cost of getting the certification? I want to get into this? I was a firefighter so ive done the scba or self contained breathing apparatus training and used it countless times.
@@scubabro9471 You're told to never stop breathing, but it's not as extreme as it sounds. You use your lungs for buoyancy too. So if you want to ascend, for example, you take a deeper breath. That's how we are able to ascend/descend without moving our arms or legs.

try swimming with no weights or scuba, just wetsuit. it will hold you at surface no matter what. next try breathe on surface with mask and snorkel or reg in mouth, no weights next try to dive 1-2m deep with some anchored rope, again - no weights remember - every moment - you have no weights, so you will not sink any way possible. next - weights on and go deep. hope this helps, cheers

Google SSI free online open water course
I can equalise my ears without blocking my nose. I don’t know if this is a common ability. I just kind of move my jaw and some muscles in my neck.
I can equalise wiggling my jaw at the surface but not underwater. The pressure affects it for me. It's different for everyone. Happy diving

Run the inside with toothpaste. That will wipe away the residue from manufacturing. You will still need fog drops or spur spit every dive.
