Wow this interview was really awesome. Yvette is so down-to-earth and hyper aware about her positionality as a creative artist and how much artistic freedom she has. Critical thinking like that and self-reflection is really impressive and really deserves respect. She's so inspiring I love her so much fuck I'm in awe Edit: can't wait to see covet in Seattle!
She’s one of my favorite guitarists and musicians in general. Her melodies are beautiful. I met Covet when I lived in Pittsburgh. Awesome people. It’s nice hearing her talk about her life and what she likes besides music.
You sound so wise and sincere and open. And your music is like watching a sunset or a puppy. What I mean by that is "why it is great to be alive" stuff. Thanks! I sure hope your battle with depression is won. We need you.
Yvette seems like a fascinating person. I think its great that she creates art because she loves it rather than because she feels she has to do it to earn a living. On the contrary to what she says 28:14, I think she knows a great deal about love.
Gavin Carney i know right ! she’s been a musician all her life tho so i’m sure figuring guitar out didn’t take her too long & it shows. her tapping is insane
Yvette is literal perfection in human form. I've been stuck in the beginner phase of playing guitar for longer than a decade but she inspires me to get better at playing one day.
Great interview! Yvette is such a cool, progressive young talent. I’ve been a fan of her and Covet for quite a few years and it’s awesome seeing her/them gain some serious traction recently. She’s a guitar-tapping, key-flying cutie that’s got a great musical future ahead and can’t wait to see where the journey leads...cheers!!🤘🏻
you are fun to have discovered . I loved the guitar duo with Ichika Nito...amazing and your facial expressions when you play make your pieces even more interesting what they mean to you when you play.
One of my favorite mid west emo guitar player. I wish she sang too, even if she didn’t have a ‘good’ voice, that’s the best with mid west emo, just as long as there’s emotions in there and shes singing from the heart.
SHE GLOWS WITH ENERGY!, Seeing this has sent me upwards, I too am an intense perfectionist, however less of an academic intellectual:((, I'm gonna escape this cursed hole and fuck the world up in a beautiful way with beautiful music, just like Covet.
when people downplay theirself like that its usually an exaggeration of words and they might imply something else less "stricter", you can see she's trying to find the right and simple words to explain things. for all we know, she may have been emo-ish and in turn made her look like someone no one wants to deal with.
i find females are so wonderful in expressing how they see themselves and the world. Or at least, they have greater intuition into understanding themselves. I find for men, that intuition isn't as natural or innate and comes with honest learning. With our public schools failing to educate and technology/social media more and more encircling our lives, both genders will suffer, but men will suffer the most (at least directly, with females being more indirectly effected). Without having that innate intuition, they will be more disconnected from themselves. This inability to see themselves honestly will lead to an inability to communicate effectively, I feel this will cause a greater disconnect between the genders. This is only a current though I had and I don't mean to generalize. Please feel free to call bullshit.

Interesting that she's still not making a stable living at it; I'd consider her pretty successful. Makes you wonder how many talented people actually are. That said, she doesn't seem like the type to put a lot of focus on how best to monetize her talents.
"Find things that give you value that you're in control of" -Yvette. That is some seriously good advice

Yvette is in the top 1% of humanity. She is so rare. More people should appreciate her and her art.
She is a big inspiration to musicians.

Jajaja just saw them in Seattle ;) Beautiful
i have been watching Yvette young for a while now, her guitar playing is so good and unique and she has a personality to match. just a huge fan.

Very interesting, it's crazy that she has only been playing guitar for about 6 or 7 years.
Gavin Carney i know right ! she’s been a musician all her life tho so i’m sure figuring guitar out didn’t take her too long & it shows. her tapping is insane
She literally has a guitar playing video from 2009 on her channel, wtf are you talking about
@@TheTrendkillerx Literally bro, literally.
@@TheTrendkillerx probably she meant consistently using and practicing it I would assume
I just looked up her music on Bandcamp and it gave me nostalgia back to Naruto outro credits. Its that good.
Check out Ares.
thank you
Yvette is so motivating!
She's one my favorite guitarists, and she seems to be so smart and sweet.
I can't tell if her ideas are more enchanting, or her voice 😍
such a beautiful soul and artist . Inspiring
No way! Didn't expect an Yvette Young interview... Considering you've done some other of my non-guitar music i dig. ;) Awesome!
Me too
This interview is absolutely amazing...
That was such a cool interview! Really liked it. And Yvette you have given so much already in form of songs and art, you really dont need to worry :)
You already have contributed immeasurably and changed the landscape of the genre of music we guitar nerds dwell on
Those were some really beautiful questions, deep and fresh.
Yvette is literal perfection in human form. I've been stuck in the beginner phase of playing guitar for longer than a decade but she inspires me to get better at playing one day.
Wow the last bit was great....
Thanks Yvette
I'm so in awe of how talented she is
What an epic interview that was.......👏👏 "Love is unselfish"
Prescient, precocious, young lass. I like how we heal ourselves with art.

Binge watching everything Yvette in 2020!
Same! Can't get enough of her...
Great questions and I appreciate how sincere Yvette’s responses were. Thanks for sharing !
She smile so sweet!.. beautiful
Wow I didn’t know Yvette had an eating disorder! That’s so sad 😢 good for her for overcoming and speaking openly about her experience.
love yvette so much :') saw her when she played in fresno back in 2015!! 💖
you are fun to have discovered . I loved the guitar duo with Ichika Nito...amazing and your facial expressions when you play make your pieces even more interesting what they mean to you when you play.
Really good interview :-) thank you for doing this , Cheers!!
I HAD NO IDEA THIS EXISTED! YVETTE IS MY FAVORITE GUITARIST OMG

Great interview, really got a personal perspective of Yvette .
Thank you for this. The topic on mental illness was really approachable and honest. I hope it encourages more people to be open. Amazing video!

Covet just released a song where she sings

Check out her solo acoustic stuff. She sings in that
Duuuude theres a lot of videos and audios of her singing, just check acoustics 2 in spotify
Good interview dude. You really need more of this
Excellent
Yvette is an incredible person. So much talent. That's funny her first guitar song was by Creed. O my God! 😁
It's the love (wip) girl :)
Thank you 💜
Thank you for this interview!!
I love artist from anywhere and everywhere and sorry for the bias but man finding out Yvette was from Cali is awesome as hell.
Or as the true Californians say, that’s hella dope😂
It seems that Yvette had gotten emotional at the end of the interview. She choked up a bit with tears at the brink of her eyes

Actually loved every second of this, so inspiring to hear all of this, felt a lot more in detail with her responses!
8:34 At first, I literally thought she was saying "hi" to the person whose voice you can hear off-camera. 😂
Im a simple man, I see Yvette, I click
Dude Yvette is so fucking cool. Please play the east coast so I can ask you out . Damn
Such a sweetie she's the best
Yvette is dope and so are your videos

The interviewer is pretty, I like her.:)
This woman is so cool, apart from a very creative artist
I'm getting a workout sitting down just watching them walk. I'm tired now. Whew
ending up so inspiring~
When you're as talented as she is, fans will do the advertising for her!!
isfp-intp wombo combo personality type. I admire her!
I can't picture her as a "bully" growing up lol. She's too cute and sweet.

I wonder if and when she will receive the recognition she deserves.
Acabo de ver a Covet hoy. Y es otro pinshe pedo, la neri ! Felicidades por su gran trabajo :)
Yvette is lovely. Beautiful woman.
i wanna hug elementary school yvy
Yvette is an amazing human being. Genuine, attractive, sincere and a very positive energy giver. Yes, i would take her home to meet mom. For sure!
Yvette always makes me wish I grew up in Cali like she did....literally no cool girls like her in my area.
"ive got a big, LLLEESSBIAN CRUSH ON YOU"

Damn....Unexpected interview, but cool as fuck
How could Yvette possibly have been nicer?

Great questions and interview but sit down and have a conversation. Damn dude.
very cool
But like
chinese parents
where the "young" come from? Or is that just to fit in better :(
Probably Yang. Some Asians will use young.
Most Asians in America that have Hwang, Wang, Yang & the like use Young as a Western surname (see Tiffany Hwang)
Some*, not most lol
Don't tab it out tf...
Really nice interview
Is that a love bite on Yvettes neck.
Anyone notice the hickey?? Or is it just me? Lol
Is this real life or did you totally reply to my comment?!! ❤❤❤❤ lol you're the best btw!!
