@@Youmanoofficial She's referencing upper dimensional spacetime (4+) and the possibility that in that context or 3 dimensional spacetime it's actually folded in such a way that distances are closer than they seem, not time travel. @@orbatosIn the film the "beings" that put a wormhole in the place it needed to be for us to use it and also had some degree of control over the black hole/tessaract at the end existed in a higher dimension, that's why they related it to this clip. The biggest difference here is that she is talking about dark matter as a sort of "echo" THROUGH a higher dimension of something we just can't see yet, whereas the beings in the film were stated to be the future of humanity after literally ascending and existing in a higher dimension. I think.
I might also be imagining that detail and they do in fact just use a higher dimension to communicate "through time" while still existing in our future in the 3rd dimension as regular humans.

The visual explanation of the bending of space time to show the effects of gravity is often the demonstration of rolling a small ball on a rubber-like fabric with larger, more massive balls in it.
I've always thought thst this was a really nice representation but also that, if we were to consider it to be close to what is actually happening, we'd need extra dimensions to explain it. Ie. The curvature that occurs in the fabric (2D fabric stretched in the 3rd dimension) would be a 4th dimension for it to operate as gravity in our 3D universe. (Picture objects flying around in 3D space, therefore needing an extra dimension for gravity to "sink into")
