    When you said “repurpose a cat vest”, I was picturing in my mind a vest to fit a cat! Cute bag and I love your videos. I obviously need more coffee!

    When you first mentioned the cat vest I pictured some kind of a vest for a cat!😂

    Beautiful. Just love that beautiful cat fabric as well as the combination of scraps that you used. What a great idea using a plastic tablecloth for the interior. Thank you. Hugs

    This is lovely, thank you! I really appreciate how you take the stress out of sewing, and just adapt as you go along. Such cute cats too! 🐈😊 Deb xx

      What type and size needle do you use for sewing vinyl?

    • @sunbeamfabricart
      @sunbeamfabricart  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@juliatepe5760 For this project I used a 100 needle size. But I think a 90 probably would have worked too. It would depend on the thickness of your vinyl. The old tablecloth I used was fairly thin. Thanks for asking! ☀

    Great vid. Most!- clever approach for the flannel backed table cloth for the liner--it adds both body and is a protective interior. In general, scrappy quilts that look good to my eye require more planning than I'm willing to put into it. So the amalgamated scrap fabric is what I do to get rid of my scraps and orphan blocks and make a utility item. (market bag)
    My current endeavor is to use fusible interfacing (I have a really big roll left over from the Great Pandemic of 2020!) and fuse scraps and left over blocks (even the little bits) on to it. I'll make bags with it, and line it with thrift store sheeting.

    These bags are adorable. If you mark with pencil your 3 1/2 inch corners then you can use scissors and not go over the line when using a rotary cutter. I have scraps of this same cat material. Fun way to incorporate into a project.

    I have to say that I was a little disappointed when I saw it wasn't a vest FOR a cat. Lol

    Thanks for sharing another great video! I love the cat material. I just had a question about the tablecloth material....When you stitch through it will it weaken the plastic and be in danger of ripping or tearing? I think it's a great re-purpose and a good way to bipass having to use liner material.

    • @sunbeamfabricart
      @sunbeamfabricart  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are quite welcome! It was fun! I used a 2.5 stitch length which did not seem to alter the integrity of the vinyl. ☀️

      Given that the vinyl was sewn to the fabric via the strips, it essentially became at one with the fabric.
