This is so obvious that this is not "traditional" Chinese music. This is more of those "10 HOURS OF RELAXING MUSIC VIDEOS", which I absolutely HATE! The music in this video was "modern" music. DO NOT FALSELY NAME A VIDEO!!!

The erhu is my favorite instrument
Willow same other than the saxophone
I'd put piano and cello above the erhu, but it's a solid 3rd
Same here
Mine too... Just an amazing mechanism way way way before violin
Better than most instruments.
It has a certain quality to it that gives it that elegance.

Sounds like the Legend Of Korra Soundtrack. This series made me love this Erhu Instrument.
I just started watching that today and found this video for the same reason!! I’m so glad I finally know the name of the instrument 😄
I really appreciate that you took the time to show the titles of the individual tracks. Thank you so much.
I KNOW, so many playlists or 2 hour videos, etc., without track names, and it sucks, we appreciate you william

This video made me purchase a Erhu
Wow! Good collections of traditional songs. Reminds my childhood learning erhu experience!
This instrument makes me feel soo emotional. I love the sound of it.

Every scale they play omits the fourth scale degree. Any Chinese music experts know why?
Not an expert, but as far as I know the traditional Chinese musical scale specifically doesn't have that note.
The pentatonic scale is widely used in Chinese music, maybe that's what your looking for?
4 is unlucky in Chinese because it is associated with the word for death which is Si which in a different tone means 4.

Do you have any suggestions as to where to go to get the non-modern stuff?
