I did the whole Dingle Way in 2004 and was happy to recognize the same vantage points on this video. The views from Mount Brandon were my favourite in all of Ireland.

Mount Brandon’s views are definitely amazing! I think my favourite at the moment was on the Beara Way, on a mountain pass west of Glengarriff

@@ToughSoles I sure do remember that. I especially remember the rugged green wilderness and the yellow posts (way markers) snaking up over the mountain pass ahead of me.

I love how that cow is just there, haha. It's looks like it's the resident wondering what the strangers are filming in its territory.

We very well remembered parts of this trail while watching the video...and especially going over the mountain next to Mt. Brandon (I forgot its name) was just an amazing experience - and we were lucky to have dry weather on this day, which helped a lot, because we found the descent rather hard, especially with the heavy backpacks. But what a great feeling to be on top,
look around, and see clearly where you walked before...maybe next year or so you will start your walking again with the Kerry Way from Killarney to Killarney - we liked this one even better than the Dingle Way. So, give your foot a lot of care, Ellie...we are already looking forward to see more videos!

Ventry to Dunquinn (sp) was totally cool. Ring fort combo history and feed the critters was fun. Amazing views. We did the old person version, (Inns and B&Bs) but so glad we did it. If you’re young, you can pack & tent it like these crazy kids or, if you’re old like me, (65), do the hikes but stay at the lovely Bed and Breakfasts and Inns along the way. Favorite trip.

I did the Virtual Kerry Camino during Quarantine! Would love to do these in person but I’m not much of a tent camper! Keep up the good work, you inspire us!

Your videos are great. I'm just on my Dingle way and it's super and the signs of the trail are easy to find. Tomorrow is the big hike (Masantiompan) , hope the weather is fine to do so.

The dragon at around the 20min point was a nice random-ish addition ^_^ You just focus on healing and doing things that don't require pressure on your foot. Maybe occasional check-up vids? Looking forward to whatever ideas you two come up with for videos :)

+Tempvs Frangit haha I hadn't even noticed! But I'm going to pretend it was supposed to be there 😅
I can comfortably walk short distances now, so hoping to do some mini adventures!

Now I remember; I think I was referring to the low crawling cloud that made me think of dragon-smoke or maybe the dragon disguised as a cow insisting it be on-camera. I'm glad you (Ellie) are feeling better and I do like the Heritage series and the Tw post of your photo works ^_^

hi there, thanks for this video.
its great! You probably did also the kerry way, right? If you have to choose which one is your favorite?
I am going to ireland beginning of september and want to do a one week hike. But I am not sure which trail to choose. Do you have a personal recommendation?
Best wishes from germany by Eileen :-)

I would love to book a self guided walk of the Dingle way and I would like to book one free day in addition. Where would it make sense to book a free day? In which village /region /corner of the Dingle way?

I believe the magenta and orange flowers are fuschia. Am I right? I saw the former in July and the latter in August.

Enjoyed seeing some of this trail. I am planning on doing this next year. However we will stay in towns. Can you tell me if you can stretch this out to 10 to 11 days and hike shorter days? Would love to take it easy. Thank you so much for your video.

Hi Susie - sorry for the delay in getting back to you! Yes I think you could split the trail up over 10 or 11 days. Some will definitely be longer than others, but there is lots of accommodation in the area!
      One possible version would be:
      Day 1: Tralee - Camp
Day 2: Camp - Inch Beach
Day 3: Inch Beach - Annascaul
      Day 4: Annascaul - Dingle
      Day 5: Dingle - Ventry
      Day 6: Ventry - Dunquin
      Day 7: Dinquin - Murreagh
      Day 8: Murreagh - Brandon
Day 9: Brandon - Kilshannig West
Day 10: Kilshannig West - Camp
      Day 11: Camp - Tralee
Staying indoors in Kerry definitely requires pre-booking. I hope this is helpful!

May - early September would be the usual season for decent hiking weather in Ireland! ☺️
