Not raided?! We're back with DAY 2. With the insane fast progression from day 1, Snuffy and hJune now had a fully finished loaded base ready for new adventures. It seems like the server inhabitants have now progressed to tugboats as Snuffy runs in to one while doing oil rig early on the day. The duo doesn't think twice and knows that getting one of these insane moving water base tugboats is now the ultimate objective of the wipe. Watch how this story unfolds.

They will never give tugs , torpedoes . What would be cool is if you could tie off one small boat to the back and have it drag with you as you drive

But you need to be able to armor the hulls.
And I think depth charges would be pretty cool...
AND POWER, if you use solar panels or a generator. Turrets would be cool too.

You can put rugs over the windows in the tug to cover them, a lot cheaper than crafting 8 lockers.
He watched Blooprint's video, I'm sure he knew about the rugs. He just wanted it to look better than Blooprints 😂
And they are useable from outside too for decoration or light camo with corect skins

Tug Boat hit box is currently being affected by the new waves. Essentially what is sea level is where the hit box is and when the waves move the tug up or down below it you get the weird projectile loss error. Hope this helps.
Tugs don't need torps,it needs depth charges to counter the subs and the charges need 2 b somewhat of a large explosion Area
Yes. Irl depth charges almost never hit directly, the pressure wave does the damage as water isn't compressible.
SCUBA directly infront of the sub when it fires a torpedo, it kills itself in the process of killing you, but they loose all loaded torpedoes, thus wasting their boom.
Well at least they don't tighten all loaded torpedoes.

What if you could add mods to the tug boat like you can cars. I’m thinking you can go into ferry monument, dock it, use a control panel, and add mods if you have material components. Mods could include an armored hull for higher resistance to torpedos, an attachment that lets you drag a small boat behind, maybe even a mounted gun for defense! Idk could be cool.
Can't you place high stone walls in the water to create a defensive cove for the tugboats? Just to protect against subs, obviously.

Need to be able to drop propane tank depth charges to kill submarines. Irl, they really don't have to hit directly they just over-pressure the sub and force it to surface or implode.
Edit: Also, if they ever add depth charges, they need to add scrap heli dropped depth charges. Having hunter-killer anti-sub helis would be immaculate.

Agreed. The tugboats need the ability to tie a small boat to the back. They rug is for the purpose of a base not to burn through low grade as main travel

Not torpedoes for the tugboat but depth charges. Just use launcher and HVs to counter sub torpedoing you on surface.
you wont hit a sub with a hv from that distance they move fast enough to dodge them at that range

Here is my opinion on tugboats so far: I do NOT think tugboats are overpowered currently (beyond parking them in safezone areas). I think tugboats should have 1. more durability before being blown up. 2. 2 layers of storage with access to building more airlocks with doors. 3. take a little more lowgrade and be a little slower (about the speed of cargo if not just SLIGHTLY faster) 4. tie smaller boats (maybe 2 max) of regular boat or ribs to the back, 5. Limit how far tugs can leave map (just so its not completely impossible to find them). Reason why I say this, is that Hjune made a great point. This game has just added in something ground breaking and game changing. I feel it would be best for EVERYONE to recognize that and allow these boats to legitimately be a limited storage mobility base. I also do not feel that zergs would easily find this useful (unless they obtain multiple) due to how much space individual bags/beds take up. Can always limit the tugs to max of 4-6 beds per boat so zergs can't easily hold access to them without having to have multiple and divide team to them.
All in all, this update was a MASSIVE step in the right direction. I think it is what rust has been needing. A new way to play the game. They can add all these skins, these new monuments, guns but nothing they have done has quite effectively changed the way we play the game (with few exceptions like industry update ofc). Now being able to have better storage, respawns AND fortification/'safe' area while on the sea is amazing.
I CAN see it making people upset though, which I feel maybe beds shouldnt be allowed on tugboats due to just 1min respawn so if someone dies after respawn, they HAVE to wait 5 minutes.

When it comes to submarine warfare a moving target is harder to hit than a stationary target. Torpedoes are not as fast as bullets. You can see them coming and doge a great number of them, especially if they are fired at long range.... In other words, move your assets.... 😁

형님, post production voice overs to explain the situation go a long way. It gives direct you to viewer connection that you don't feel when observing the communications with you and other players. Ex when you realized the tug boat was owned by a group that countered you:
"Damn I think this was the guys that countered us" said to snuffy,
But then adding an additional post recording voice explaining it:
"Since these kits looked like the guys who countered us yesterday, we suspected this was their tug boat. So not only did we get rid of a group causing us trouble, but we gained their tug boat to use for our own"
Read that in a willjum voice and you'll see what I mean. I believe that's how he grows so much - viewers feel personal connection to him on top of his rust content.

Tug boats are one of the over powered things but the only problem is it only takes a couple Hvs to destroy it and also there can only be one door till people are at your main loot but you can add an airlock so that its harder

The locker airlock (airlocker) is a great idea, if you put kits in there with a codelock you won't even need to get fully in, or could also use it as a drop box since it can be reached from both sides.

be expensive but you could maybe make foundations from the sea floor and make a sea wall you have to steer around so a sub cant just fire from far away, also we need sam sites but for ground and water vehicles.

why not make an ocean server where tugboats are the only for of bases
for this to work as intended youd have to place large underwater labs and oilrigs in locations of your choice and a few floating fishing villages
