"OVERPOWERED" TRAXXAS MAXX V2 on 6s, NEW M2C Chassis Brace!!!

- Here's my first crack with the new M2C prototype chassis brace. So far it's holding tough and doing it's job. Be patient while we finish testing. Hope everyone had a nice Easter. Shout out to M2C Racing for the constant innovation and to Fast Track Hobbies in Rocklin, CA.
Forgot to clarify the brace is in the testing phase and not available on the M2C Racing website just yet 😝. Hopefully it'll be in production soon. Testing is looking very promising. 🍻

The skid plates needs to be attached to the center driveshaft cover as well making one long skid plate preferably out of metal. My plastic ones get worn down quick. The stock skids i agree are the weak spot.

I'll be purchasing that soon as it's available. I'm two bulkheads down and this might help my body popping off issue. Cant wait to see this thing in the dirt! Good Session. Also. that screw is stripped on mine as well. as long as your pin is set in the correct slot for the motor craddle on your mesh you should be good. I have not had issues there.
Thanks Brother 🤗. I think the brace probably does help keep the body from ejecting. As far as that screw goes, unfortunately my HR spur gear got ground down at the end of this bash. I grabbed a new gear cover and T nut to see how that'll go. Replacing gears gets old 🤣. Hopefully this will hold up. 😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 i now have to correct myself. monkey metal 46t gone... and now three bulk heads. 🤣 im thinking emulsion caps for the shocks.. I also dont use the wheelie bar, its dremeled off so landing on the rear might be taking harder hits...

Hopefully 6s makes it more enjoyable in the dirt. last bash with it was a slow-motion brick on 6s maybe a fast brick lol off road. killer session bro. No doubt its durable and because of the plastic chassis concrete skate park is where it seems to shine.

Hi Rich, I’m looking at a couple of different RC’s and I wanted your opinion. I’m b/t the Kraton 6s, Kraton 8s, Xmaxx, Maxx, or Sledge. Which do you recommend? And what M2C mods are the best to make it the absolute most durable? I know sometimes adding more metal isn’t always a good thing. Thanks, subscribed!
Hey Brother 🤗. I'd recommend the Kraton 6s. It's an all around Beast with loads of upgrade options. M2C chassis and alloy chassis braces are the biggest hop ups for hardcore bashing. M4 shock standoffs are also a cheap, effective upgrade. The rest is up to you and personal preference. Alloy rear suspension mounts are another inevitable upgrade over time. 😎💪👊👊

Purchased a new gear cover today for the new maxx v2,.. motor moved again, ruining the mesh, tightened more. moved. tightened and stripped. this is so damn frustrating on the gear cover. I puchased a riv-nut tool and installed a riv nut in the hole. going to see if this lasts.***updated/edited*** (the riv nut was done three weeks prior to this post and is still doing its job, just keeping the info for people that might of missed it, on my last post "copy pasta")... traxxas should make oval cams that go in the motor mount hole that you set the mesh with.. to stop it from moving at all. just sell different cams to go in the oval hole depending on gears running. @m2cracing please do.

@@richduperbash2966 Man that would be sweet. Vitavon has a gear cover but it only works with their rear bulk head and motor mount i believe and its a large chunk of alloy. i just dont think the max can hang with the added weight. i put emulsion caps on the shocks, ditched the bladder system with 100 wt oil all around and the Heavier lb springs on the rear from traxxas. I believe it's 2.14lb and moved the rear springs to the front. m2c pistons.. later rebound. i'm using backflip LPs and traxxas 1/8 truggy dish wheels. they have the 1/2" offset and have taken a beating.

What if Mitch made wheel extensions for the front of the widemaxx to use v1 arms and axles to equal the wide maxx length, this would help with the steering creating more angle and keeping the width because the extension is after the knuckle and not before it?? would create more leverage on the servo but hell, the stock one is garbage anyways, go beefy

Rich how did you fit the traxxas wheels to the Kraton hubs? Maybe I missed it in the vid
I use a Dremel sanding drum to grind off the plastic tabs in my Traxxas wheels so they end up fitting a standard 17mm hex. As far as my Maxx goes, I since swapped on Traxxas 5353 aluminum wheel hexes. That elimated the need for the silly plastic adapter. 😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 thanks mate I'll give it a go, gonna do it on cheap and just use front and rear ends off my Kraton exb so won't be 100% same, but let's me try a truggified Typhon out, as for hexes I was looking at getting the HR extended hexes so I can maybe run backflip LP's on my maxx v2, think still be good on 4S?

@@rctd3260 I'm running the Maxx M2C 1.3mm piston kit with 1100cst. 80 weight (1000cst) would probably work great too 👍. I also set my front shocks to the outside position on the A arms.

Is 800kv more powerful than 1100 kv? Hobbywing max 5 combo
Yes it's bigger with more torque, however, the 1100 is better in the XMaxx and several other applications in my opinion. 🍻
Richduper I was hoping to ask you what is your main controllers your always running are they pretty nice or just standard RTR?
I use mostly basic Tactic TTx300 controllers. Nothing fancy, but great ergonomics, range, wheel, and spring tension. Cheap, but very responsive.

I threw a vxl 6 esc in my V2 before I even drove it, a set of steel drive shafts and run it on a single 100c 5000 spectrum 6s pack. Parts start flying off every time I take it to the skatepark 🤷🏻♂️😂 shes a little beast but, the last session broke a lot of stuff so I ended up building my talion into a mini “orange darling” instead of fixing the V2 LOL! I was going for red but it looks orange to me. The V2 can rip quad flips over the spine, it’s wild! Can’t wait to get the Talion back at the park

Hi, are you going to get the traxxas sledge, would love to hear your thoughts on th car😅. I'm stuck between getting the fireteam or the sledge.
I'm not that interested in the Sledge to be honest 🤗. The fact that Traxxas insisted on using that cheap pot metal for the spur gear at that price point bothers me 😝. Maybe once there's suitable replacement options. The Fireteam is far more versatile and FUN by the looks of things. 😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 follow up question, Arrma parts support is not the greatest for me (parts can take weeks to get) and Traxxas parts are much easier to find😮💨, what out of the Traxxas lineup would you recommend for bashing (this would be my 3rd RC car)🤔, as a note I don't mind complexities and enjoy wrenching on my RC cars as much as driving them. Sorry for the long comment😅

Thanks Brother 🤗. No problems so far. I think hard 6s throttling in high traction dirt might be different though 🤔. I tend to ease into the throttle from starts anyways. Landing on throttle (on 6s) would probably jack the stock driveshafts pretty quickly. 😎💪👊👊

I'm still picking my jaw up off the floor over the twist flip. Absolutely insane and the backflip over the 3/4 pipe. Every time you have a skate park video I could watch the lines all day man. Awesome to have more upgrade options for the Maxx. Awesome to see another truggified typhon. I've thought about doing it to mine but I'm afraid I'd miss it's buggy form. Maybe I need a 2nd one haha. Ultimately I go back to truggified typhons too . I shouldve listen to you in earlier when you say its your favorite. I have body mounts so I can run truck body or I can still run the sleeker typhon body . I have TLR guy I was trying to leave in stock form with sencored system its so tame compared to a setup typhon . I think not only durability but typhons have the best control

NICE! Was hoping M2C would make that for the v2! I asked them a couple times on facebook, probably got annoying. In the mean time, I made a skid to tie my front to my center. That combined with the dual upper hinge pin mod and my bulkheads have been holding up. For the upper motor mount screw, I put a metal t-nut in the spur cover so I could tighten it down securely. Took some fiddling/grinding to get it recessed enough so it didn't hit the spur, but it helps keep mesh better. I run the steel cvd's, backflip lp's on traxxas 8671 wheels with a MMX and 4092/1650kv in mine with 24/46 gearing. Haven't bashed it hard yet though. Ran it with the castle 1515 in it last year, but even with 21/54 gearing, it ran on the warm side in grass on a 75F day. Hoping to get out this weekend and really get after it with the 2.0 chassis and new motor to see how it does.
Thanks so much Bryan 🤗. I'm going the T nut route as well 😱. Couldn't see any other way to clear the spur gear. My guess is the stock design works fine for regular bashing, but can't hang if you like doing big jumps...etc. Don't ever feel bad leaving suggestions for stuff with Mitch and Avery 👊. Often times it gets the wheels turning with fresh ideas. Really appreciate you sharing your mods and setup Bro. I'm gonna hold off on the steel CVD's for now and get what I can out of the stock motor. Just adding the Max8 and better gearing was a huge improvement. This thing was a complete slug out of the box 😂. Thought it was stuck in training mode 👀🍻😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 Wish I had run mine on the stock system so I had an idea as to how the MMX/1515 2200kv compared, but I bought the truck, gutted it the night I bought it and threw the MMX/1515 in it, then sold the stock system a few days later. I ran it for a month or so on 4S, but needed a bit more speed to clear some larger jumps than I could get out of it on 4S without overheating it. Been 6S ever since. Only trying the 4092/1650kv because I recently converted to the v2 chassis and upgraded the motor in my kraton to the hobbywing 4985/1650kv. Even my buddy didn't have the stock system in his when I first saw it, he had the max8/4074 2200kv in it, but he's still on 4S.

I just broke my front bulkhead and it would be nice if M2C figure out some bracing for that. I saw the weakest point is at the front lower back hingepin brace. That brace holded by a plastic little thing. If that can be replaced by something aluminum than connects the 4 skidplate holes it will be a stronger piece together

@@richduperbash2966 I am using mine for about 10 months now. Never had problems with chassis. I send a little smaller than you but I had a V1 and converted it to V2 a month ago. And this is my first bulkhead break.
@@ZozzlightsRC I've heard several guys (my bash buddy included) that have blown out the front bulkhead. It's the primary issue I keep hearing about. Hopefully get it sorted 😉
