She's only in primary school but I have a Modern Language degree and my niece is very quick to understand when I teach her. When she was a toddler, her Dad did speak Yoruba to her and I think she understands a little bit but This channel is so helpful. Odabo!!!

I appreciate your energy for teaching. However, I was hoping that the person or persons practicing this conversation can also learn from you what will be the reply in Yoruban language of the person that he or she is speaking to. Yes some have replies. But many don't. God bless!

EDIT: i am going to guess that in yoruba the pronoun for the 2nd person can be dropped since the listener can infer it from the fact that you are talking to them.

Am an elderly woman with Yoruba in-laws,hence my desire to learn the language.Am struggling a bit since i lack the basic background common words. l often heard my in-laws used words like '' sha la fia, modupe, etc.Is there a book that sets out everyday words. eg come,sit, go ,then pronouns..he, she, they.. separately before i can form the sentense. They’re pronounced differently, different letters so different words and different meanings. They’re just very similar
