    The problem with the mil gauge is that it measures all the paint including primer and base coat, not just the clear coat.

      This is exactly the problem. The only thickness guage that can measure individual layers is the DeFelsko Postitector 200. BUT it it will only work on plastic/composite. So theoretically if all panels, plastic and metal, you could get a measure for clear and subtract that value on all the panels that only can be measured by total thickness. But remember, this would only work if everything was painted the same .The whole measuring the paint is a gamble at best.

    Excellent work as usual but as you said this is only achievable with vehicles having 11:09 thickness above 200microns to start with BUT in our part of world a brand new car thickness won’t go beyond 100 on average or 120 occasionally😊keep up the good work👍

      yes, you are right, I tested how much the coating will peel off, and it is 96 microns

    hello, love how cool your job is and get amazing result. i painted my car and orange peel was almost everywhere so i tried to do the glass finish all bodypanels. Trying cheap method like hand sanding with 1500x2000x2500 and trizak 3000,6000 and it came good but so slow.. then i tried 3m 1500grid on DI with wet and it destroyed it self and did pigtails everywhere... So i buy the kovax product it was "yellow" line 1500 and 2000 and soft pad for assilex paper with it.. but when i tried work with it on DI it imidiatly did the pigtails.. Now i see i made mistake and bought wrong paper, i shoud bought "super assilex" and "bufflex" line paper not "yellow". But not for sure the my mistake is it.. can you give me advice please. Yeah one more moment my DI is 125mm not 150mm may it cause my mistake too? sorry for stupid questions

    I'm not able to purchase the Kovax Super Assilex sanding discs in low quantities. Are there any other ones you can recommend which are available for consumers?
    Incredible work!

      if you're not an expert, then glue yourself, but if you've been doing this job for a long time, there's no need, because you've got a feel for it and it's hard to make a mistake

    Perfect sanding work. As a DIY guy which do it once in a long time, do you think that a cheap sander (basic Bosh, Dewalt, Makita...)is better than hand sanding?

    • @Amddetailing
      @Amddetailing  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      every sander is better than manual sanding, especially electric sanders do not leave marks that you cannot remove by polishing, while air sanders are very aggressive and I do not recommend working with them

      of course it's badly painted, do you have eyes or is this good for you, if this suits you, change your profession, this is not the job for you

    Is it same to dry sand and wet sand a freshly painted car. I have difficulty to finish down after 3000grit. Always see deep into the clear sanding scratches.

      Wrong paper choice. Use better quality paper and ensure you sand uniformly.
