I think it was the first time I saw a BL Vietnamese movie and I liked it so much. With nice actors, good script and happy ending.
Although the movie focuses on the romance between van and Ian and their dealings with traditional family values, but it also shows the relationship between family members and has funny scenes and the story warms your heart.

Plot Summary (from IMDb) :
Van, the heir of a Vietnamese clan, returns home from the US the first time in 9 years for the move of his father's tomb. The whole family is surprised upon finding him going with a young Vietnamese American named Ian. No one knows Ian is Van's boyfriend and they plan to come out to Van's widowed mother Mrs. Hanh, who expects him to get married and have kids to fulfill the heir's duties. To top it all, his grandmother, who has senile dementia, mistakes Ian for her grandson. While struggling to find the perfect occasion to come out, Van finds out instead that Mrs. Hanh is seriously ill.

@@tharnandtypesicecube3262 Yes it is HE and it has a great message about the mother's love and sacrifice. This is so far one of the best LGBT movies from Vietnam because it also presents the family values and the culture. The casts are also famous professional actors not just some amateurs.
Thank u, actually this movie wanted to open more Vietnamese ppl heart on LGBT(althou ít had already progressed) so they made it deepjly involved with family and emotion rather than just love attraction of gay ppl, as I think most Vietnamese are not yet welcome to too passionate BL movies with lots of hot scenes, so this movie was made like this to touch Việt ppl heart and most can watch and relate as its really simple and real

Just seen the movie on amazon prime and gotta say it’s such a bless to see that the two didn’t end up splitting. Two amazing young actors, especially Ian, his eyes carry a whole world in it when he looks at his loved one. I’m really amazed at scene where the two were dancing in slow music, looking into each other’s eyes and you can see that they are so fell for one another. I enjoyed it, loved it, and would rewatch it again sometimes in the future. Oh yeh, I live the granny and the mom so much, both are such great persons, they loved Nau and want the best for him. Even this isn’t a bad ending, but I wouldn’t say it’s a happy ending either, it’s kinda sad tho.

Green Dragon hmmm idk how to describe it, the two didnt end up splitting but it is sad, watching them crying at the airport after saying goodbye to Vietnam, to his mom and this place; this is sad, or watching their mom crying after saying goodbye to her son and his lover at the airport, knowing she wont be seeing them anytime soon, and there is so much she has to face from now on, the pressure and the people because her son is gay. There is so much for them to bare, no matter in Vietnam or in the US. I wouldnt say it is a happy ending, not a bad ending either, its an open ending for them, No one knows what would happen in the future, so wish them live the best live they have chosen.

AHHHHH this is one of the most beautiful movies I have seen recently--it is just so tender and bittersweet all throughout. The way motherhood and family relations are portrayed is so real and moving, and the couple is beautiful together (the quiet scenes where they just stay close together aghhhh

I just finished this beautiful movie and somehow it made me feel complete. It's so beautiful yet so heartbreaking. I loved every single minute of it. I wish Van and Ian all the happiness in the world even tho they're just fictional characters ahaha

The way they look at each other I- the actors did such a great job in acting out the love these boys have for each other. Its so believable

Filipino BL is ruined by the need of Filipino producers to create Fan clubs rather than tell a great story. 99% of Filipino TV series are not Realistic. Good thing, they now try to Copy Thai and Korean dramas. But in the end, they still insist on making shows for the maids who watch them.

I don't know which one is better since both were extremely well made. As of now though I think I still prefer this one because today I need happy endings. Great video! This movie is so well done. Quality. The actors had chemistry and were so natural. Set in Vietnam but could have been anywhere and tackled a lot of themes. Highly recommend this movie.

What a wonderful film, thank you for this edit that made me go discover the full film on FB. So well made & acted, great storyline... really loved how Naus family dealt with the reality of being a family with all its tentions & flaws plus his coming out added to it... The film is about these 2 guys had been studying in the university together in the US. They went back to Vietnam for summer vacation. And their story revealed. However, the man's family accept him. The film pace is slow and gentle. You can sympathize with them in every happy, nervous, sad moments. And of course they are so handsome and suitable to each other in this film, which contribute to the success of this movie. At the end, the man's Mom takes them to the airport and tell her son's boyfriend to take care of her son.
