Damn it! This is what is happening with me. I wrote Walkera and they haven't responded but it caused my BRAND NEW quad to hit the gound and catch on fire from the battery. Thankyou for posting this fix.
Just go a runner and wanted it so that the motors are always spinning. I have a tendency to cut the throttle when I get too high and drop the quad. My phantom's motors alway spin when armed, which I like. I also like the killswitch when something happens... Thanks for posting.

I,, did read some of your comments, from other people, I do have the walkera 250 advance with the GPS, as I, I said, I can fly it in strong winds, and it well LAND SOFT,, and my walkera 150 rodeo is set the same way, , thanks for your help, I,am a female that been flying RC over 50 yrs, and have a lot of fun , I, do have the tarot 680 pro hex with the naza-v2, and the hubsan pro, fpv, I have more fun flying the 250 walkera , it is a fun quad to fly,
However people "think" your Quadcoptor is Flip O' Deathing, I know that ambient Wi/Fi activity will cause this to occur even from near distance. I've also FOD'd my Runner from just a rapid climb to a rapid descent, and watched a Propeller blade just "Un Spin" lol I have purchased the Walkera Runner Motor Guards on EBay, then trimmed them down with a Dremmel Tool. I've also re-inforced my battery tray and Top Plate with 2mm square Carbon Tubes I Cyanoacrylate ed on, LOL It rocks now ! I removed the back of the FPV Camera (11 grams or so) and cover w/electrical tape too. When it rarely falls now it doesn't cost me a power Control Board. Do these Mods so your Runner will survive your ignorance, see ya
Thank you for this video hopefully it fixes the issue but I still think I have a bad motor CW left front it's not spinning up correctly or sometimes it does maybe a bad ESC CW
Same here than Robert Tromp. Made the throttle ajustement and the lock motor is not working anymore neither the bind. Set throttle back to 0 and it start working again.

This might be dumb question, but here it goes. I've ordered the Walkera 250 advance with GPS, so haven't flown it yet. With all my other quads I've never needed to throttle to 0% while flying. What's the purpose, just gor a specific trick or something. Or is the issue, if you accidentally throttle to 0 and back up it will "flip of death" on you?
+PowerScissor You may never need to go to 0%, but on the off chance that you do, you should be able to do it without flipping. I don't fly the runner any longer, but on my everyday flying quads I go to 0 all the time, dropping low, doing flips, upside down hang time, etc.
+smokingpandaproductions I am already in the process of a ZMR250 build and I have decided to put the Runner on the shelf. I did two more fun FPV flights with no problems and the 3rd battery the Runner dropped during normal forward flight. I can fly FPV out to 100yards with no problems and then the next flight it randomly drops. I attribute it to the slow 8bit FC and quality control issues. Other people have very few issues with the Runner but to many report random expensive problems. I may be parting it out on EBay soon as well as the Devo7, Unfortunately Walkera has horrible support.

Now I get it why you put the sub trim on for the death trim. but then you are talking about throttle hold, I dont get that part. why and what does it do?' what is Act? and what position is -20%? what does that do? and if i use this workaround can I have the throttle hold on when connecting the quad for safety? I learned that every button needs to be on 0 before connecting and turning it on.
Deto really With this workaround we need to enable the throttle hold so in the event of a crash, if you land upside down or your props are blocked you an switch on the throttle hold to stop your propellers and prevent frying the ESCs. The -20 is to ensure the throttle turns off when enabled, and act vs inhibited means you are just enabling it. Good luck! Feel free to ask any questions you may have.
I'm a complete nub with this thing but I'm trying to do what you did? Mine gets to exactly 13.5 like yours for blades to spin! Only thing I can't figure out? After I get props going I've hit ent and I can't get engine to cut off like you did? My motors won't lock while blades are spinning? I'm sure their something im doing wrong! Is their another way to do it with out locking motors at 13.5%? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jay

Steve Panebianco Make sure your throttle hold is in the middle position and arm it. Then you should be able to hold your throttle stick in the bottom left position and arm as normal.
Can you tell me the workaround for use after the flip of death..?! I loved this quad but it has cost me so much and it crashed so unhappy damaging it behond repair. New buyer be aware it also could suffer from problems on spinning up the blade's when the control stick drops below some certain level. Making it unstable in air fall down and wont recover .
I have reprogrammed the Throttle Failsafe for TX Power Loss to cut power completely, and for a beeper too; but I don't see this necessary when the basic Throttle Trim switch can be bumped up to many percent above 0%. I have mine set at 6% which the rotors just start to turn (or less). I have never had a "Flip O' Death" that wasn't caused by the WiFi loss anyways, so why this ? My Devo7 Transmitter will read throttle Position at 6% every time I turn it on so, I should have no worrys right ?
+mulder2400 Throttle failsafe is smart. And I also trim mine to 6% when I fly. But you need the Throttle hold to function when you do this. If you crash and you can not stop the motors completely you can hurt the motors and the ESCs. For example, if you crash with the props in the grass, you would have to trim the throttle down until the props stop. Throttle hold lets you click one switch to do the same thing.
Well the Throttle Trim Pos is enough , as when I throttle down it stops the blades rotating anyways, and I cannot seem to get the "Flip o Death " to occur while I Throttle down whil Yawing the Quad so thanks anyways for upload.
I had the dreaded fod....but i didn't throttle all the way down.....just maybe 50% from where it was flying level .....good thing I was flying over lush spring grass 4 feet tall!!!!! or is that a fod? maybe other problem??

+Kobe Wild the flight controller kicks on the rear motors before the front ones when spooling up from 0 throttle. When you are in flight, the rear motors will kick in from 0-6% first and it causes the quad to flip over.

The permanent fix for the flip of death is to tack solder the bullet connectors on the motors because they turn during vibration which gives a bad connection from motor to ESC. That is the permanent fix for the FLIP of DEATH. Cheers
this wouldnt have burnt out your esc unless you did something like crash and not arm throttle hold quick enough allowing jammed motors to spin. not the process it would have been the user.

Any ideas why the Runner just drops out of the air while moving? I did this workaround and it worked for FOD but the Runner will just randomly drop :(

+Teddy Teh sounds like your main power board is cracked somewhere. Even if you don't see a crack, the inner traces may be broken.

Your runner is apparently immune to the flip of death. Congrats on a good one.

Jacques Berther Make sure the throttle hold is off and you can arm/disarm it normally.

I just got the Walkera Runner 250pro but i am having problems to arm the quad and disarm
whats up can you do that on the runner 250 advanced one........
is this issues do to a crappy transmitter or crappy motors...
I would rather swap out parts than do a work around.

The problem I have with mines is the one of the motors sometimes fails or runs slower than the other 3 and it just flips and falls.
