Nice tips Rado need to do this to my 05 KTM 300 MXC it definitely is in need of it. Now I got a general idea at how to go at it. Thanks keep at it my man
I have a yz450f 2005 and since last rebuild she run more than 500 hours just oil and filters change and coolant when I take engine apart looks like new, change piston, connection rod, rod bearings, valve adjustment and she runs perfect again. Ready for more 500 hours.
Damn that's a long time on a proper mx bike. You surely must have lost quite abit of power with 500 engine hours... I had a crf 450r road legal and I had it about 50 hours and it was losing power ( needed a new top end ) not sure how many hours that was on the top end though. I've got KTM exc now less maintenance than full on mx bikes
Hey Rado i vap blast my cr 500 build with out taking it apart plugged it all up was a little worried but was plugged up well and came out great and no issues
If you are going with plastics that are not blue, than cercoat in Yamaha blue. For example, black plastics from the tank back, white front fender plastic, around headlight and YAMAHA blue ceracoat. Then for graphics... mostly blue and black on the white plastics, and white and blue over the black plastics. (and logos in a medium grey that stands out.)
A HEATED PRESSURE WASHER WILL GIVE YOU THE BEST REULTS , I WENT TRHOUGH IT ON MY ENGINE AND HOT WATER GETS EVERYTHING OFF THE BIKE . LESS SCRUBBING , ALSO IF YOU USE A 1000 GRIT OR 1500 GRIT SANDPAPER WILL HELP ALOT ALSO
That aluminum cleaner did not work. I wanted to see it look like new after letting the cleaner sit then scrubbing it with a scotch brite pad. Now what really works best is a wire wheel of all shapes and sizes. You will need some very tiny to get into small areas. The big ones that are about 1/2”-1” you use on a drill and the tiny wire wheels you use a dremel tool. The engine then needs to be buffed and polished like you would do a car. This will make the engine look new
Very nice. Big difference

Soaking engine parts in diesel for one night or so will remove everything. Best cleaner out there.
Thanks for the info
It is not easy to do, it takes time and patience.
Good job.
How much water did you find inside it after pressure washing it without the case breather's blocked off ? :)
God bless this man

thanks for sharing brother, we will take it apart soon and decide what gets blasted
Engine came out nice

I have found the aluminum cleaner to make my engine cases darker than before
scrubbing bubbles takes that off..
Good idea using different cleaner 👍
Thanks 👍
Can you make a tutorial where you show The best way to clean The inside of the engine

Forreal should see my engines basically have to rebuild every inch once it's been sanded back years of abuse 😅 not one rusty bolt says it all
