It was always the music.........Jem/Jerica totally ruled my world for a few years as a kid but it was the music that pulled me into that show in the first place.
I love how they kept the last notes from the original ending 2:03 . To me, that is the quintessential piece of Jem music that defines the show in my mind. That, and that strange sad flute-ish instrument during the "And now back to Jem" bumpers.

I hear you. For me, Jem was aired at 4:30 pm every Saturday, so it was the last cartoon of the day (live-action shows started at 5pm), and in the winter, it was dark at 4:30, so the whole thing had a melancholy to it. Plus I just loved the show and was sad for it to be over.
Those of us who grew up watching Jem and the holograms, Jem will always live and all of us that grew up watching the show. I was between the ages of 8 through 10 when the series ran for the 3 years. And now as an adult male at the age of 43 soon to be 44 on May 5th I still love Jem
I agree. That little melody at the end just sets the stage for me of the show from the 80's...totally takes me back to my childhood and wishing that I could grow up through those times all over again.
There were actually 5 different sequences. One that included the footage from the third one, but it was an instrumental of the Jem theme and the fifth which is the most common, which uses the film strip portion of the opening sequence with Jem dancing between them, rather then the sequence where she just pushed away The Misfits and performs on stage with the other Holograms like the version shown here. BTW, the second sequence is very likely used for those early episodes like you said. Perhaps not the Starbright three parter, but definitely the Truly Outrageous five parter then begins the series, which had new and alternate scenes from the 1985 (Super Segments) version, since Jem went into syndication properly in 1986, thus some scenes had to be added or altered due to time.
This version of the logo's music is probably the best of the Marvel/Sunbow television themes. (Transformers Season 2 just had a long dramatic note, others just had the ending theme play over it).
I bet all the boys who were probably forced to watch this with their little sisters back in the 80's were like "Boy I really wish the Decepticons or Cobra would come in and ruin this and The Autobots or GI Joe would totally come in to save the day".
Haha I was a kid back then an loved Transformers :D. But I did watch Jem with my little sister she loved that show. But back then us kids didn't have cartoons to watch all the time just after school or Saturday mornings. But we didn't complain the 80's were amazing 😃😎
I was wondering if by any chance you could do these credits music remastered. I really love hearing this and knowing your skills in remastering Jem music, I think it would sound beautiful. Take it into consideration please!
@@leahrowden3939 not really. They are different. The first closing sequence is for the first 5 episodes in the super Sunday version. The truly outrageous closing sequence was for the first 5 episodes in its movie format with an instrumental of music is magic playing in the background. In the season 2 closing sequence, it shows Jem kissing Rio and says 1987 on the credits unlike the season 1 closing sequence where Jem changes back into Jerrica and says 1986 on the credits
megamanj2004X It's good that Jem was released by Rhino in 2004, released by Shout Factory in 2011 and re-released in 2015 by Shout Factory, so we can have the show to watch any time we like and with the credits in full. 😃
I like your vid but I think you are missing one it's similar to the second one but has a different melody it's on the jem vhs tape entitled truly outrageous if you can find it just letting you know. great vid otherwise

For credits #1, on Hub reruns, the theme keeps playing w/o it finishing at all.

I think some episodes also used #3 but with an instrumental track.
