    No tested the Hyper 212 Evo but it is a entry level performance cooler, so you may have trouble getting their, what your find with these entry level CPU coolers is high temps.

  • @Britec09
    @Britec09  12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @ArduinoMan101 Yeah you can tweak them setting maybe drop voltage to 1.30 some people can get away with 1.28, you can even drop it down from extreme etc etc, its just a basic guide really all hardware is different.

  • @Britec09
    @Britec09  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well things to watch out for is adding to much voltage to CPU, the less voltage you add to CPU the longer your hardware will last. You can keep going up as long as the system is stable and temps are good, you will need to keep using prime95 and other tools to make sure the computer is stable under full load.

  • @Britec09
    @Britec09  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Its upto you mate, have a read up on them and decide what you want to enable or disable. every machine and motherboard will be different.

    Great stuff! I just got my old i5 2500k + P8P67 Pro mobo back from my little brother since he upgraded his stuff recently. I am building a Windows XP/W7 setup for the retro fun of it these days and will be using these components ++ for an overkill setup :P Also randomly picked up a Noctua NH-D14 cooler yesterday, at least the CPU will be nicely taken care of and hopefully bring more joy into the future.

    I have not tested this heat sink so hard for me to say, but it is only a entry level one, you can add another fan and run it as a push and pull system, just take it nice and stead and let me know how you get on, I could be wrong and it could do your 4.5 GHZ nice and easy, like I said hard to tell without playing with it myself, hope everything works out for you.

    Gotta love those Intels!
    I'm a fan of using the single bus bar voltage power supplies, like thermolake high voltage, or even the no name 'KingWin' 800watter and up. Most trouble people have is the poor power supply and multi-bus 12 volt lines, unless your dropping big bucks. Did you run a cpu test to compair the number of calculations vs i7 2600k?

  • @samlanchops9071
    @samlanchops9071 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey yeah it should be, do you have a push pull config on it? i have a push/pull on my hyper 212 plus and it keeps my processor real nice n cool. Just make sure ur fan RPMs are up and that you keep and eye on your temps at first to make sure there not jumping way up.

  • @IMBIue
    @IMBIue 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question, I plan on buying the same processor you are using here. And I was thinking in a buying a different cooler, so I don't have to use the stock one. If I don't plan to overclock my CPU, do you still think I should get a different cooler? I heard that some people buy a different cooler because it less noisier. What do you recommend?

  • @Britec09
    @Britec09  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    should be stock voltage for as long as you can keep it that way. 4.0 ghz should be stock, try it.

    I just over clocked my CPU to your standard, seems to be running smoother but for some reason hotter. 2 cores are running LOW 70's, which isn't bad but not great. I have a 120mm Dark night heat sink, Air cooled, thinking about going liquid. question, I had the 3570K, I didn't care for it so I went back to the I5 2500K, I have G-Skill Ripjaws Z and its DDR3-2133, I know the I5 2500 does not use this, would that do anything to this Over clock?

    Hi, I've been running on an i5 2500k since 2012 clocked at 4.4 Ghz with "AI suite II" fast auto tuning. in extreme I went up to 4.8+.
    In short, my i5 2500k has been running at 4.4Ghz for 11 years with just 1 click to overclock my processor. I still don't understand why many people still bother today with the settings in the bios for a "little" overclocking.

    Noise is very low and temps are great so I do not see any need to spend extra cash on a water cooler, unless in the future I decide to go for the 5,0 Ghz

  • @frigginjoe
    @frigginjoe 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great cooler, great chip.
    I haven't upgraded from my i5 2500k, just because the thing overclocks so much.
    4.4ghz without touching voltage, and hits 5ghz with a pretty minor increase.
    I scaled down to 4.4ghz just to keep it at stock voltage, but the Hyper 212 Evo will give all the cooling you need. It's fantastic.

    I know this is an old video, but I've only recently got to overclocking my cpu. It's a core i7 2600, so it's partially locked - the multiplier only goes to 42. I have used pretty much the same settings you have and played with speedstep to see if it would change anything, but I'm getting a weird problem: while the gpu does reach the target frequency on all cores at the same time, when under stress test the multiplier refuses to go over 39. I don't understand what could be causing this. Any insight?

    • @PRObierdeckel
      @PRObierdeckel 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, this is caused by the fact, that you have no unlocked cpu. Hence the turbo-boost does only reach 4200MHz if there is only one core active. If you have 2 cores under load the boost clock goes down to 4100MHz, then 4000MHz and finally to 3900MHz if all cores are under load.

    • @sauron1427
      @sauron1427 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      PRObierdeckel I see, so there is no way of forcing it to stay at 42x?

    • @PRObierdeckel
      @PRObierdeckel 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not as far as I know. The only way to push the clock over this limit is by overclocking the PCIe-Bus, but this is not recommended since it could harm your complete rig permanently if done wrong. The Problem with Bus overclocking is that you overclock ALL Parts of your System including RAM, the Motherboard Chipset and Databusses. Unless you really know what you are doing and being aware that you shorten the lifespan of your System I would not do so.

    • @igorkovaliov7653
      @igorkovaliov7653 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      you should turn off turboboost, but not speedstep
      then youll have 4.2 ghz on all cores at max load
