It’s actually legal to run a red light if you wait for more than a minute. You have to make sure it’s clear and explain yourself to the cop if you get pulled over. I learned this in drivers ed 4 years ago

Where I live almost all traffic lights are smart and it's pretty nice. They instantly turn green if there's no one around and they already turn green when the last car is still in the middle of the intersection, so you can start accelerating and by the time you're in the middle of the intersection, that last car is already gone. Idk, but a country like the US still having timer-based traffic lights is crazy to me.

In the downtown Miami area there are sometimes closed intersections where only one road is usable, blockades on both sides and the red light still appears. At that point just take the red you aren't braking the law it's a bone head decision to put anything but green in something like that

In the Netherlands most if not all trafficlights have censors. So they would always be green if you are the only one. Never seen people go through red like that.

Lights turn red for a reason. The only reason you would have to run a red light is if your first responder or your absolutely positive the light is broken.

@@alphaone321 seriously I’m not trying to condone my behaviour but when I was 17 I had my own sierra sapphire cosworth and had a sierra Rs500 at 19 and couldn’t get insurance ( also no license) and I got chased every single day multiple times and in the end the police in my area north Warwickshire/midlands just left me alone (a lot would smile as they drove by an would give me the 🖕) …..!!!!! Also was offered a job by the police when I was in jail( working in car security for 3 big car companies) they wouldn’t tell the car companies until I accepted the the job! I told them to do one as I thought I was being disloyal to all my criminal friends…..! I realised a year later I had made a big mistake ( I had no true friends, not how I’m friends with people etc)! One of the car companies was Ford! But now I’m a bit more experienced I now have insurance!🤓

In Brazil when it’s after midnight, every single red light it’s advisable you just pass through, it’s not safe at all to stay still in some places due to criminals.
This is so funny to me cuz in my country, law literally says you can ignore red lights from 12am - 5am as long as you're careful. I so see myself getting pulled over for this multiple times had i lived in the states lmao
