Carsten...! You said this would be 'long and boring'! Long, yes. But I definitely did not find it boring. Despite having been on GC for some time now, I still managed to pick up some new information just in this first video. I'll be checking out the rest of the videos as well in the coming days. Tnx for having put these together!
Thanks for your effort.Unfortunatelly i have two days now and i cab't make th digipeater in terminal window to ON ,is always off .Running the icom 705 with soundmodem ,the sattelite tracking from windows ,but no luck with digipeater at all
Yes first test today and hear the sat ,many things to do more, my antenna diamond with 15 elements 14,8 dbi if i am correct steady to the mast , when i manage to work it i upgrade it with an elevetion rotor and an lna .but with the digipeater off .....is a problem
Depending on the cable length from your antenna, it could very well be the satellite is to weak for decoding. Remember, Greencube is in MEO orbit and much further out than the LEO/FM sats are. The "Digipeater off" is only shown until you receive (and decode) telemetry from the satellite.
Unfortunately ? I think most of the users for this is running Windows :) As the Soundmodem it uses also runs windows. But, would be great if someone would make an application similar to this for Linux, nothing holding back :)
Linux on the desktop is rapidly growing in popularity, my friend. I'm not sure what development environment you use, but these days it's not much trouble for devs to make their applications cross-platform. For example .NET, you could support the Microsoft's MONO project. Then Linux users like the OP and myself could enjoy software like yours without having to maintain a Windows VM. Geeks like us hams should be in favor of supporting open source operating systems that don't collect telemetry from their users, force updates at inconvenient times, and have secure package management systems vs running arbitrarily unsigned executables downloaded from the internet. @@CarstenGroen

Many things can be wrong. Do you hear the sat in the speaker ? What antenna, do you have a mast mounted LNA ?
