I do a lot of these exercises every day when I wake up. After a couple of crippling bouts of sciatica, I feel it really helps. thanks for all you do for us Tim.
I always seem to find the most appropriate session on what I need to address on your channel. Had lower back pains yesterday from setting up our xmas tree (i’m from Manila😊), and did a cat cow and wharever i learned from you last night. And now this. What an amazing relief to my lower back. I’m grateful.
Thanks for this ..I wish I had this 2 years ago when I had sciatica, but PT got me better. Now back to the gym and yoga. In June I had stem cells intrathecal in my spine which finished any dull pain, I had in my lower back since it helps to heal the bulge. I know now that carrying water buckets in my local park with poor form caused it over a 5 year period. So much for volunteer labor!
I was one of those stubborn normies who did half ass yoga & then said it didn't work. FINALLY years of abuse at the hands of pain management "doctors", I got serious about yoga. I've not felt this good in *decades*. YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO DO YOGA WITH MORE INTENTION AND CONSISTENT EFFORTS TO REPAIR A BAD BODY THAN THE AVERAGE PARK DISTRICT CLASS WILL GIVE YOU.
Pain management is absolutely necessary. Sorry but after 10 weeks of debilitating pain, they're the only ones who helped or cared. YOU have to do the maintenance and building work but they are absolute godsends getting you to a point where you can even move
I have been doing this routine, every other day for 6 days and what a huge difference it has made! Thank you so much x (Update-now been doing this for over 40 days, still every other day and I’m now 95% better, the sciatica is almost gone! I will be doing the strengthening routines soon but don’t want to rush things, thank you again x)
Thank you Tim! Everything you said and the movements afterwards were great affirmations for my own experience. Taking that time to back off and really let that chronic pain subside is key. It took me several tries before I realized I had been trying to get back into my regular workout too soon. Re-injuring costs dearly and sets you back even further. Will keep checking in with your videos to stay on track. Glad I found you!
I recently had sciatica, hadn’t been doing yoga either Tim for over a year. Started your videos each morning building up slowly and walking, now pain free 🙏
Thank you! Totally agree that sciatica was caused by emotional stress for me and specifically not being able to own and express all emotions... only after regular yoga, mediation and therapy in addition to chiropractor and physio, it finally went away. Also leaving the toxic emotional environment ❤
Thank you! I'm 8 weeks out from the NYC marathon and my lower back started to feel really tight last week. I've had sciatica in the past, so shall use this practice to prevent any issues
Thank you for the talk at the start of this video (I’ve listened 2x so far!). It was what I needed to hear. I’m dealing with a hamstring issue from running (I think) and it is time I back off, stop thinking the over stretching will work, and let it heal. I never considered the other stresses going on as having an effect either. Your timing was perfect. Thanks again.
I really like your videos and follow you religiously. There are quite a few videos on back pain. Can you please make a playlist explaining where to start and what should be the order to follow on weekly basis. This will a great help for people like me who are suffering from back pain. Thanks a lot. Keep doing the good work.
Yes! As i mentioned at the end of this class i created a course on my subscription site which you can follow, the link is in the first comments, as well as the description. And here to :) : www.timsenesiyoga.com/consciousmovement
Well, I have to say Tim, I was a doubting doubter. I've been doing your exercises for a week and a half now, and the improvement is amazing. As soon as I complete them, my back feels instantly better. Of course, if I also stopped trying to lift furniture at 59 by myself, I think that would make my back feel better as well😅
Man I keep on coming back to your videos every time I hurt my back. I do Yoga for about a month and a half and the pain goes away I become lazy and stop stretching/doing yoga entirely and 2-3 months after that re injure my back. As a Tri Athlete it’s hard to fit yoga in the routine with all the workouts hopefully this time I can stick with it and stop getting injured no one’s to blame but my self. Thanks for the helpful videos 👍🏻
just getting into yoga and this is so helpful. I was worried i wouldn’t be able to do it at first but this beginner routine is a godsend. thank you so much for doing these.
You're so welcome. You might also like the ‘Yoga for Beginners’ series. In the search bar on my site type in beginner and you’ll see the beginner videos 😉
This is just in time! Two weeks ago I threw my back out. It's not completely back to normal but finally ready for some movement. 🙂 I really appreciate your gentle is better approach. Thanks as always!
ugh. mine is a result from yoga and totally messed with my surf and overall, struggling to not do both of them b/c I love them so much. thank you for this.
Thanks Tim a really relaxing stretch for me. Have a left knee issue for a while now. I have to let certain poses that are not good for it go and was able to maintain certain levels of flexibility not 💯 but all good. I learn to accept & make modifications as I age. 71 and not doing too badly. Grateful. Much blessings to you. The stretches were helpful. 👍
Thank you so much for this informative class. Just downloaded the book. I have flatback syndrome mixed with Ehlers Danlos and an extra long spine which causes me a great deal of pain throughout my upper and lower body. This was helpful ❤
Yes....as you said i am suffering from the same symptoms of sciatica pain... tingling and numb sensation passing down towards my foot and i loose balance and collapse down and i m scared to take a walk...i hope by practising these asanas i vl definitely be relieved from it...Thanks aplenty for your detailed explanation on yogasanas for this issue..🙏
Hi Tim. I have 3 herniated discs and waiting for my physio appointment in a few weeks. I have been doing yoga for a few years and find your class 1 for herniated dusc very easy. Can I go up a level? What do you suggest? I welcome your opinion as you are the best I have found on TH-cam 😊Steph
Hi Tim, thanks for the video/lesson, I enjoyed it very much. I was also hoping perhaps I could get a short insight from you on this: I’ve been having very mild back pain when I bend over, for the last couple of days (from right shoulder to lower back), but I go about my day just fine unless I bend in a particular way. Does that sound to you like a reason to cancel a two-day hiking trip? I walk a lot every day anyway, and maybe the activity will actually be beneficial. What do you think? Thank you. 🙏
Thank you for the great video! Is this routine good if you have "yoga butt" injury (or hamstring tendinopathy)? Or is there another class you would recommend instead?
I’ve been watching and doing yoga with a lot of your videos lately! Appreciate them all and thank you so much for sharing ❤ ps if it wasn’t so distracting looking at your errm.. form BUT that’s on me sorry!!!🤣
21:23 i coupdnt even straighten my lefs with 1 block or pillow or even two pillows i definitely didnt felt any good doing the next stretch after that i dont know if thats like not my level or i just have to improve some thing else is there any thing else i could do?
Thanks for your question. Yes, just practice legs up the wall instead with your hips about a foot away from the wall. If you have any more questions, I'm here for you, and can guide you further when you start the course on the CMC. Here is the link to join: www.timsenesiyoga.com/consciousmovement
I tried to do the laying down sliding leg in and out but I do not have the strength to slide the leg in and out due to stiffness in knees and thighs 🙏🦋
Is this helpful for a l5 s1 herniated disc? I absolutely relate to the emotional side of it, but there is this voluminous herniated disc too. Thank you in advance for any insight 🙏
Hi, me and my sister love your channel. I recently broke my tailbone and can't practice yoga as I used to before. Can you do yoga poses for a trauma like that?
Oh dang! Sorry to hear that. I’ve done that before. Check with your Pt or physio to see where you’re at in your recovery and how long before you start yoga again.
About 2 years ago my sciatica gave out when I was trying to get out of bed in the morning. I literally fell and couldn't move my lower half of my body. I was in very bad pain and felt like I had no control of my legs.
